Actually there's much more strategy in this game mode, than you may realize, some units are better against others, you should look at the units that your opponent has, so that you can kill them easier
@@synka5922 Usually when I play one of these (and there are a number of permutation on this game) I try to rush a little eco early, then focus on recouping value until I am caught up and the extra income allows me to start buying the rest of the eco.
@@MonochromaticPrism its not worth the missing early strength, you get your first extractor once you break the enemies turret, or at specific timings let me try to explain; Basically, gas is a noob trap. You win the game by controlling the middle, because lane control gives a 15% eco boost for the WHOLE team, while a refinery only gives 10% to YOU. the first refinery takes 405 seconds to pay itself of, that means you wont be getting any extra money until almost 7 minutes passed, in that time you easily lose the bunker! Now, when should you go for gas you may ask. Thats actually very simple, there are 2 situations in which you should get gas, 1. You got the enemies bunker (bonus minerals for your team = free gas = no pay off time) 2. you got a decent T1-T2 army, for example a lane of Zealots or some queens AND you control the middle. Thats basically it.
I saw some of your most recent game before this one and i found it quite impressive how much did your game style and vison if the battlefield improved. Well done future you :)
One thing you should know about upgrades for broodlords: Broodlords overall damage is split betwenn their usual shot (which profits from air attack upgrades) and the spawning broodlings, which will scale with ground attack (and defense) upgrades. Technically they will profit the most from groundattack upgrades. But too much aoe on the other side (or the broodlings are the only melees on your part) and they die way to fast, to profit from those upgrades.
From my experience going 1 Income emediently is the best way to go. Because you need the income to make units. And the first is only 5 minutes to earn back. Next being 7.5 which I take once I got my wave under control.
Controlling mid gives equivalent of 2 gas for entire team. It's never correct to immediately get income. Only if you're sure you're beating your opponent (your units are hard countering theirs) or you get their bunker.
@@ZerosDream Maybe. But for me it depends on when your wave starts. If I'm third then if the other two has not taken middle yet then I'm still better of just getting Economy as the enemy has gotten that boost. Also I thought it was just 1 Gas for the entire team. 2 is a bit much
@@redholm Whether or not the others have taken mid isn't really relevant at all. Often people won't build anything for the first 1-2 waves so that they can get their opponent to over commit and counter them. If you can't control the mid after a couple of minutes it's like 90% likely you lose.
@@redholm Thats not how it works... 150 minerals is insanely expensive for the start of the game. That's like having an extra three marines. You're just handing your opponent free income unless you're already beating them.
Some early game lings would’ve helped out quite a bit. Even just 5 or 6 would’ve made a difference. Make a small gap between your queens. Queens get hit first then lings run in front with all that dps lasting longer
just a tip: some units can be built in different modes, for example hellions - hellbats & hydralisks - lurkers... right click on them in the unit selection menu and it will switch to the other unit... just to save time :)
When i play this i go with zerglings and roaches with a mix of hydryas for anti air upgraded and i make alot of them to rush the enemy bunker, then i go for biger units air
Hey project incursus!, I have an idea for your next forts video!, try to use 20mm cannons as mortars by making them face upwards!, keep up the great work!
Your ally got way too much gas but you should not neglect it. The first gas will always pay off so you should definitely be getting it at some point though obviously attempt o take middle first. If you know it will go on for a bit second gas is also good to take. Third rarely pays off.
Yeah, hate these kind of players. Think they know what their doing and talk all big. Like damn... He got out played by an early gasser. Did he not realize his wave was the only wave not pushing?
Should time when you build your units more towards when your wave spawn. Dont upgrade just before your wave spawn if you can upgrade when its walking across the map. Better to have 1 more unit in the fight and get the upgrade on the way to win middle. Just small things you can do to get better:)
I always start with 1 mine. As it's only 5 minutes for it to pay back. And first wave ain't much anyways. But the Income helps a lot. Then if I win the wave I buy more
i like to play this, most of the time people stay bitching around you have gass or not. There are 2 game modes, one where you can upgrade stats of your untis in time and other where you can use commanders with different units. I like the last one is more challenging
the only thing this game lacks is a combination of gear and commanders and while it would be a shitshow as far as balance goes i think it would be great
Yeah, part of it would be that he would be wanting to try the different units and show us everything, but his actions could be better. I watched a different video with a form of Direct Strike that had various unique factions and he chose primal zerg, he just kept sending a few high-armored, extremely expensive, but high quality units while his opponent adapted by playing units that were very good against those few strong units. He did manage to brute force it, but he barely tried adapting to his opponent's composition at all.
It's so strange to watch you play StarCraft, I don't know why, but your gameplay feels so different to other players. When I play, or watch Lowko, it feels so different
It's because when you play, or watch Lowko, those will be regular games with the standard game mechanics. What you've seen here is the arcade mode where people develop their own game styles and game mechanics. You can have a wide variaty of game types in the arcade games. Reaching from single units that gain experience to level up, going to tower defens playstyle, to usual game mechanics with some quirks (like massiv more ressources or so).
Muta gets shut down incredibly hard, so even though you get to kill the marauders for a few waves, he just spams marines as a response most likely. And unlike mutas (who get completely wiped later in the game, and thus being a waste of minerals), marines work incredibly well for the overall terran composition. So you're actually doing him a favour.
Your opening was weak due to the queens. You could easily have kept the advantage by spawning zerglings on the far back 5 rows on either side of your spawn. The zergs then swarm the outside forces split the enemy in two and meet in the middle. By the time the Emmy has a counter you are at queen roach then you just steam roll em from there. I played the hell out of this game mode. A lot of fun. Still suck as toss though 🤣
Dude stop talking about "my teammate expelling the other guy the Strat" as if you are doing the right Strat. The income from getting that first thing is not worth it. Early gass is worth, always.

It seems the ling/bane combo largely carried the protoss economy investment until it could pay off!

hopefully on WC3 Reforged

You don't want to go extractors too early because the middle income bonus is so valuable.
