A little tip for the Warding bond tip with a hireling. Only works mid to late game though. There is no need to waste a ring slot on warding bond. 3 things: 1.Have the hireling level into cleric was max con until you unlock Freedom of Movement, Death Ward and Warding Bond. (I believe level 7) 2. Give them the feats heavy armor master and later the feat Tough. 3. Put every level you don't need for cleric into abjuration wizard. Abjuration wizard gains a shield that reduces damage taken by the amount of shield stacks. With 5 levels in abjuration wizard at level 12, that's 10 stacks. With heavy armor master those hirelings will reduce any physical damage redirected to them with warding bond by 12. With a magical plate, that's another 2 points of reduction for all damage, so 14 physical and 12 for all damage. The great thing is the stacks of the shield don't go down when the damage gets redirected to them. But the damage reduction still applies. That turns your hirelings into free buff stations. I did that to turn honour mode into easy mode.
I don't know if you know this trick, but there is an alternative to your hireling and warding bond ring trick. Gale has a special feature. Since he has that [SPOILER] in his [SPOILER], Larian programmed him to always auto-heal when left in camp, so he cannot be accidentally killed if a fight breaks out there and he is not in your party. You know what happens when he gets left alone like that! So... respec Gale into a cleric, put as many points into CON as you can to max his health, give him items that boost CON as you find them if they are not in use, etc. When he casts warding bond on you, and you dismiss him from the party back to camp, the Warding Bond will stay, but any damage he takes from the link with you will be auto-healed. There you go, saved you a ring slot. Love the channel! Edited for spoilers.
You don't need to have ring equipped by my method, if hireling disbanded. And yep, i know about Gale 😀 actually fun interaction, and fun how it works only for him
You don't need to wait for the second act to get a warding bond. And mercenaries are not needed here either, only the third level is needed. Gale has a unique NPC ability of full self-healing outside of combat. Therefore, you pump him into 3 levels of cleric, the rest, for example, into a barbarian for HP and leave him standing in the camp, by the third act you can make him resist all types of damage from some items. But even without them, the bond will fly off only if Gale is dropped with one hit. I played the game with Gale buffing the whole team, but the warding bond never went away.
If you have gale in camp you can spec him to cleric and have him do the same warding bond thing. He will auto regen health while in camp, and he does not need to be in the party for warding bond to work. I think that would give you access to it a little earlier and maybe save on a ring slot? (Not sure if you need to keep the ring equipped after your hireling casted warding bond)
Since I have a comment pinned here. Something you didn't note about dolor amarus is that, 1: you can find 2 of them, 2: the passive extra flat +7 doesn't require you to hit with the weapon, and 3: there's also a shortbow with the dolor amarus passive. All of this to say. You can wield all 3 to add 21 damage to each and every single hit. Much better than rhapsody. Even applies places you may not think, like adding 21 bonus damage to the crater flesh gloves passive and phalar aluve shriek.
there is sharan dagger you can get in act 2, wich is the underground statue in the between moonrise tower and house fo healing, the dagger do aditional necro atk
37:40, an exploit of a bug is considered a cheat "literally the infinite spell slot cheat" like this build is bug based, the double smith and the infinite spell slot
There's a good dagger sold by the gyth vendor in act 1.5. You don't need to wait till act 3. It's called Knife of the Undermountain King. +2/ Organ Rearranger - Reduce the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking by 1. When they roll 2 damage or less, reroll the dice, taking the highest result. Shadow Blade - You have Advantage on Attack rolls against Lightly or Heavily Obscured targets when using this blade.
If tou do this with a half orc you get an extra die each different dmg instance in crits, like normal attack extra die, sneak another extra die, smite another extra die aside from the standard double dies from the crit because of the savage attacks
Put sword of life stealing in the mix it also procs dolor on cirt hit and adds 10 necrotic to every dmg source. So you will have 17necrotic added to every smite.attack and to the force damage of gloves XD its broken af. Start with smite spell then regular smite and you get +68 necrotic just from sword and dolor and +28 from dolor for other dmg sources.

33:00 Warding bond isn't a concentration spell. This, as well as the ability to give another character an infinite number of attacks per turn, makes cleric the strongest class in the game.
@@TheSpudKing Yeah, sure. You need a level 7 cleric and access to sorc metamagic. "Dath Ward - Protect a creature from death. The next time damage would reduce it to 0 Hit Points, it remains conscious with 1 Hit Point left." In reality, after ‘death’ we restore all action/movement points but not spell slots. Effects of elixirs/ potions are not lost. Before we start, we need to have as many level 4+ spell slots as possible (the number of spell slots depends directly on the number of attacks). How to do this is shown in this video. Next take a character who will attack to him there are no requirements it can be any class and any build. It is also desirable to lower the health points of both characters to a minimum before the fight. Preparations are complete, let's start the fight. Spend all actions/bonus actions on our damager. Cast Death Ward on him and kill him (e.g. with a jumping hammer from Act 1) Actions are restored we can attack again. When the cleric runs out of actions cast Death Ward on the cleric(by himself) and kill him. The cleric has all action points again. Repeat until we run out of spell slots.
@@TheSpudKing I wrote a long comment with a detailed explanation, but youtube didn't like it and it disappeared. Long story short The cleric has death ward at level 7. This spell restores all action points after your resurrection (potions/elixirs effects are retained). You can cast it not only on the character who is attacking to restore his actions, but also on yourself. With the many level 4 spell slots that we have obtained through Sorcery Points and potions as shown in this video we can make hundreds and thousands of attacks.
Just as a small side-note: Broodmother's revenge doesn't do much in act 1 because you don't really have a heal outside pots (or you'll have to use spell slots).
You can proc Broodmother's Revenge without using pots or even a bonus action (in combat) by using "raspberries" picked around the monastery and near Ethel's swamp. You can get about 25-30, or perhaps even more, that'll last till Act 3. They heal like a goodberry but don't use an action nor bonus action, so... free healing proc at the beginning or at any stage of combat.
My problem is when playing in multiplayer, I would always have to contest equipment with allies. Since I'm the most flexible, being able to play the game the most and coming from 5e, I would usually be the one to adjust. I would often end up with the most mediocre build and have to rely on creativity to match my allies and be useful. My allies would be doing 200+ damage while I can only do 30 to 40 and when playing as spell casters, the highest spell save DC would be 18 if I can get at least one spell DC raising item. But what sucks is that despite that, it would always be up to me to get us out of trouble. Fighting Myrkul? With healing blocked after being dragged in and physical attacks not working, they would rely on me to come up with a solution. Since I use barrelmancy and spell scrolls, I was able to get us out of there plus some long rest potions to get our healer spell slots back. Malus Thorm is immune to physical damage and uses the last element to fight? Nere fight overwhelming us in the first few turns because they use explosives and shove actions? Bhaal assassins hasting in groups? Auntie Ethel splitting into 7, getting 3 characters stuck with hold person? Grym hitting too hard and is not going into the lava? Can't reach the ledge? Can't get past a certain area? Solving puzzles? Hell, even the final fight, they got wiped out by the netherbrain despite having OP builds because they were careless. I had to end the honor run with a 8-7-8 eldritch blast. Even after all of that, I'm unhappy because 95% of the time, my character can barely contribute to fights and I most often feel useless until something that can't be solved by just hitting and confusion/hold/dominate control comes up. So now I am always trying to come up with builds that rely on less contested items or those that do require creativity but still fun to play with
I turned off dual wield, my main hand has a dagger, I turned on the divine smite reactions, but it's not working. Am I missing something or did it get patched?
at 27:41 it looks like it didn't actually double smite. you pulled up the combat log and which confirms it. any reason for that? i also notice most of these double hit examples are coming through after the target is dead from the first hit. for instance, imediately after it fails there it apparently "works" when you overkill the ogre.. Edit: that said, the paladin/rogue multiclass build still looks really fun lol. also i like the idea with using the fire acuity hat with it
Can't figure out, but it's 1 of 20 hits is single. I included not every hit ofc, so they're completely fine against bot dead targets:) preety fun spaghetti code interaction
Pretty good build I was building a crit Pali, but still haven’t finished yet. Maybe you could help. I was trying a new build and clashed with "adamantine weapons" & "half-Orc" combo. Smite: 2 Paladin (Vengeance) / 10 Bard (Sword) or 2 pali/2fighter/8bard Race: Half Orc Feat: Savage Atk - (does GWM work with longsword? If yes, it's better to take off the shield) FS: Defence / Duelling Adamantine Longsword / Vicious Shortbow Viconia's Walking Fortress Helldusk Armour Helm of Balduran / Holy Lance Helm Cloak of Protection Legacy of the Masters / Helldusk Gloves Helldusk Boots Broodmother's Revenge / Surgeon's Subjugation Amulet Caustic Band / Callous Glow Ring / The Whispering Promise / Risky Ring With half-orc Savage Attacks and the Diamondsbane, every hit is guaranteed crit and extra dice of weapon damage. Plus, Helm of Balduran and Broodmother's Revenge combo. And the rest of the equipment that provides damage. If GWM works, then the bonus and the bonus atk (since we always crit with adamantine weapon). Shouldn’t this provide more damage? I can’t test this for now, if could try and provide feed back I would much appreciate.
So I went through this and set it up on a Half Orc, currently a L 5 Paladin. I have dual wielding as a strike option off, and it's irrelevant wether I have "ask" ticked or not in reactions, when I manually attack with divine smite it smites twice and burns 2 slots, so if a fight goes longer than 2 turns the Paladin is just a fighter with 2 daggers (virtually never missing is nice though) What am I doing wrong? ..... Also as an aside, going into Auntie Ethels boss fight with full spell slots and Karlach as a Thro-barian, Ethel gets Nuked in 2 rounds .... hard to get that hair when shes dead. Took 4 reloads
@@TheSpudKing is there any way to control how many smites you land up until that last spell slot? because 1 strike 2x smites burns those slots real fast .... which is kinda ok for a single boss, not so great for a lot of minions
Every time you post a new build, I want to start my Honor Mode run over. XD I just lost a save with 40 hours on it the other day. I was gutted. Really thought I was in good shape to beat it. But died to the pre brain gauntlet because Orpheus wouldn't stay up long enough to cast the spell. I didn't have a scroll of Globe of Invulnerability like I thought I had. Amateur mistake. But a painful one. lol How does this character handle the Act 2 final boss? I feel scared trying to solo him on Honor Mode since I don't want to lose the save. But it seems like this guy works better without teammates.
How do You get to level 4 before entering the temple ruins near the crash-site in the first place? The bandits can easily be taken out by a single shot at level 3 already, so they are easy XP to get to level 4.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why it wont work - I have Dagger +1 in main hand and Poo-scraper in offhand - I have dual wielding off - I have reactions on with "ask" unchecked - I am using divine smite manually - I am using dueling style But it still wont double smite? It does a lunge animation and single smite rather than the overhand jump attack with double smite like in the video. Any help is appreciated!
What happens if you long rest after doing the camp follower glitch with the paired rings? Does the second ring disappear forever, come back into your inventory, or does the glitch persist through long rest?
Yes, you need to use shield spell slots only to create sorcery points from them, then they're infinite, still i like potions more, it looks like a faster approach, and will drop updated video soon, there is even better way ;)
If you want to break the game even more. Return the hireling with the Drake glavie equipped to the hireling pool and then reqruit the same hireling again and the cooldown of the glavie will be reset!! Enjoy :)
There is an exploitey way to get the Bhaalist Armor without murdering the shitey elephant. When you are talking to S(poiler boss of Tribunal) there is a point after you discuss joining where the vendor is fully real, and the "ethereal" quality has not been applied. You can pickpocket him for it, but it's tricky: Have a really good rogue (DC will be very high) hang back and stay out of the conversation, and switch to them before ending the dialogue with your MC.
@@ookami-chan3328 No. Because this spell is not a concentration spell, you can take the cleric, use the spell on the character you want, and leave the cleric in the camp. You can cast it on an entire party with 4 clerics. Gale is the best option on a cleric because he heals himself in camp. The clerics in the camp can still die.(Not Gale)
Hello i do exactly the same just like you, but dont work, same item, same move same run and come back, same enable / disable smite reaction... i don't understand why its dont work
Don't know, it should be dueling fighting style, with turned off dual attack while wearing 2 daggers, and turned on smites on hit without ask. If all of this checked, it works ~19 out of 20 hits. Eats spellslots too fasts though xD
Even if you do everything right, it works inconsistently. It seems to depend on the animation. Sometimes when attacking with a dagger, you'll do an overhead lunge. That is the correct animation that initiates the double attack. Sometimes, however, you do a lunging stab animation instead. That animation DOES NOT initiate the double attack. People don't include examples of when it doesn't work in their videos.
@@rubenstein3700Dueling does not stop you from equipping two weapons. There's a bug with dueling right now where you can attack and smite twice for one action if you're holding daggers in main and offhand. That's the purpose of dueling.
Sorry but you totally lost me. Why are we using the dueling fighting style? Does it work with dual daggers? I’m not getting the bonus damage. How are you getting two attacks without toggling dual wielding? And how does the angelic reprieve potion replenish paladin spell slots?
@@TheSpudKing Just making sure I have the right steps and not miss anything: 1) Choose Duelling fighting style 2) Equip 2 daggers 3) Turn off Divine Smite 4) Manually use Divine Smite So far it only does 1 smite Or does it only work when it’s down 1 spell slot? Even then it still does only 1 smite :\
your videos always have interesting ideas but you have no practical advice how to make them work in solo or team play to dedeat myrkul or other bosses.
mmm the build its not that "broke" basiclly you have to run out of a lot of fights and why to run, you have the deathstalker shit and max dex, its like having 2 turns to smash a person even if you don't have the assasins passive you just focus on hit with secondary weapon first, hit with primary or even smith... wait one turn.. oh! they are surpised so no attack on you, kil the mthfck in the second turn become invisible, move the fight ends, you attack the next victim and repeat. In act one from level 3 on dual wielding you can do that. The war priest charge is per long rest and I hate the mechanics behind it, you cant turn it of f For the guarding bond if you are going to use the hireling you can multiclass it sorcerer for the twin spell thats 3 levels and after you level it up in cleric warding bond is a level 3 cleric so at level 6 ... ending of act one you can already have the warding bond and as soon as you get the glaive you get you elemental buff for weapon
Nice video, but not a build for me this time. Just too much exploit usage and me personaly i dont like these run out of combat builds, but that is just my preference. I can see how broken this build is, it is just not up my alley. Cant wait for your next build...

A little tip for the Warding bond tip with a hireling. Only works mid to late game though. There is no need to waste a ring slot on warding bond.
3 things: 1.Have the hireling level into cleric was max con until you unlock Freedom of Movement, Death Ward and Warding Bond. (I believe level 7)

Yeah, i gues 1d4 is not a weapon xX
So I went through this and set it up on a Half Orc, currently a L 5 Paladin. I have dual wielding as a strike option off, and it's irrelevant wether I have "ask" ticked or not in reactions, when I manually attack with divine smite it smites twice and burns 2 slots, so if a fight goes longer than 2 turns the Paladin is just a fighter with 2 daggers (virtually never missing is nice though)
What am I doing wrong? ..... Also as an aside, going into Auntie Ethels boss fight with full spell slots and Karlach as a Thro-barian, Ethel gets Nuked in 2 rounds .... hard to get that hair when shes dead. Took 4 reloads
Yeah, its one slot and two smites on last slot, so virtually you have 4 slots instead of 3 early
Oh yeah, feel you. Almost got destroyed with full party on chill run like this xD
How do You get to level 4 before entering the temple ruins near the crash-site in the first place? The bandits can easily be taken out by a single shot at level 3 already, so they are easy XP to get to level 4.
By exploring and talking its possible to get lvl4 without single fight, just full mountain pass, and underdark avoiding minotaurs
I cannot for the life of me figure out why it wont work
- I have Dagger +1 in main hand and Poo-scraper in offhand
- I have dual wielding off
- I have reactions on with "ask" unchecked
- I am using divine smite manually
- I am using dueling style
But it still wont double smite? It does a lunge animation and single smite rather than the overhand jump attack with double smite like in the video. Any help is appreciated!
Yeah some reason level 1 smites are using a different animation so it doesn't work lvl 2 and 3 work for me tho
what mode did you use, or cheat engine to be able to level up quick, and have gold, and lot of items ?
Another Banger from you King❤
What happens if you long rest after doing the camp follower glitch with the paired rings? Does the second ring disappear forever, come back into your inventory, or does the glitch persist through long rest?
Need to resummon him, and it will be in his inventory
That's so brokennn !! thanks sharing really like your builds
Do Infinite sorcery points still work on honour mode? Mine says spell slot is used and im only getting one from the shield.
Yes, you need to use shield spell slots only to create sorcery points from them, then they're infinite, still i like potions more, it looks like a faster approach, and will drop updated video soon, there is even better way ;)
@@TheSpudKingwow cant wait its a fascinating topic!
15:23 How did you spent 1 spell slot with 2x smite? Mine always used up 2 slots when I do it.
On lastt one, its double smite on one slot
If you want to break the game even more. Return the hireling with the Drake glavie equipped to the hireling pool and then reqruit the same hireling again and the cooldown of the glavie will be reset!! Enjoy :)
How do you stay as a vengeance paladin playing as a dark urge build? Do you not break your oath several times during the story?
2k gold and you're back ;)
Yeah morals can be bought back for a price... just like real life XD
I haven’t done a full play through with Paladin yet, but wouldn’t becoming a bhaalist assassin break your oath?
It will, 2k gold, and you're back on track))
Regaining your oath gets more expensive each time you break it.
@@riffgroove well money is free anyway in this game. unless they fix it in patch 7.
I just started a durge cleric. Could I build this starting with a cleric then going paladin?
I cant get double smite of a level one spell slot is that normal because of the different animation?
Don't know, if done correctly it should work, but someone cant pull it off on console (cant confirm thT it wont work)
Small question here. How do you manage to jump that far without any strenght ? Great vid btw
This needs to be an Orc and we need a Level of Bard and we need to use light Hammers.
"Can't touch this!"
- MC Hammer -
32:06 why not just make another cleric hireling and have them cast warding bond?
It will break if you dismiss him, and with rings you can have 3 other in camp :)
@@TheSpudKing Oh so this "feature" only works with the rings?! 😅
@@v4ils713 I know about that but spud dismisses the hireling after, basically negating the dying problem and he says it only works with rings.
@@ookami-chan3328 I just checked we can make a level 3 cleric hireling cast a spell and release it. The ring isn't really necessary.
Bruh, the world of warcraft music threw me off so hard, I thought I launched it lmfao
ok, I missed the explanation of how you get the benefit of Duelling, while holding 2 weapons
To activate double smiting
@@TheSpudKingbut dueling says you can’t have a weapon in your off hand, if you do you don’t get the extra damage
@@rubenstein3700Dueling does not stop you from equipping two weapons. There's a bug with dueling right now where you can attack and smite twice for one action if you're holding daggers in main and offhand. That's the purpose of dueling.
16:20 Only Spud would call out Larian for ''Spaghetti coding''
There seems to be a lot of rng on whether the 2nd attack actually happens or not
Its preety stable, 1/10 is not triggering for some reason
Is this build still works? With patch 7 i mean.
Sorry but you totally lost me. Why are we using the dueling fighting style? Does it work with dual daggers? I’m not getting the bonus damage.
How are you getting two attacks without toggling dual wielding? And how does the angelic reprieve potion replenish paladin spell slots?
The only problem with this, as it looks like he is solo is that you will break your oath as paladin if you become assassin of bhaal
2k and you're back on true path
this only seems to work when its the last spell slot. that's my experiences anyway
When I have equipped fleet fingers my character cannot jump at all.
Yeah, new skill appears and you need to use it
@@TheSpudKing not very useful if you just want to jump outside of combat.
hello !! how can you get the deathstalker mantle without dark urge?
You can't
@@TheSpudKing but in the video you do !! And you are playing a wood elf !! Or you just spawn it to show us how it would work ??
I spawned it, but you can change race of dark urge :) so elf dark urge is not problem
@@TheSpudKing omg i never noticed 😅😅
33:00. warding bond is not concentration spell
I took a shot every time you said broken 🥴
24:42 did I miss something because you did a level II smite that hit twice but consumed no spell slots?
recorded later part with mod, to make less long rests while recording
Does this work on PS5?
Was testing it and I didn’t do the double smite :\
don't know ;( got few messages like this , so maybe it wont (but it should, same game after all)
@@TheSpudKing Just making sure I have the right steps and not miss anything:
1) Choose Duelling fighting style
2) Equip 2 daggers
3) Turn off Divine Smite
4) Manually use Divine Smite
So far it only does 1 smite
Or does it only work when it’s down 1 spell slot? Even then it still does only 1 smite :\
@@JUNOJUNOHKif you haven’t already, try to toggle off dual wielding by hovering over one of your weapons and press triangle
@@iCinderIV I did toggle off dual wielding
Does it work for you though?
Seems like it doesn't work on PS5. I repeat all steps from guide and my character only deals a single smite
The problem with this build is that it's taking advantage of a coding problem.... So basically it can be patched
how do you get ethel hair without breaking oath?
You can spend 2k and get your oath back , its cheap ))
i add assassin or thief rouge for more stabby
can use this in tactic mode ?
Yeah
Hey Potato, I am kingdom
Is it solo honour possible?
warding bond is no concentration spell
This is with mods?
Nice Bug build
It is still working ?
"WRONG"
37:40 kkkk sure
Why do dueling if you're using double daggers? Did I miss something?
You've missed a bug that leads to double smite if you do dueling with daggers and manually smite.
Why Paladin have 100% Critical damage?
This is for sure not working after like a billion test on PC doesnt matter what combination i do it always uses two smite charges.
On last spell alot, it makes two smites with just one spell slot
❤
This build came out what, 8 months ago? Used it in my first playthrough prior to honor mode.
no cheats? ok , but no bugs? 🤔
But why choose dueling fighting style if you dual wield? That style only works with 1 weapon in hand
He says around 12:30 that the smite bug only works if you have it.
For smite bug, yep.
your videos always have interesting ideas but you have no practical advice how to make them work in solo or team play to dedeat myrkul or other bosses.
Im making full boss rundown soon ;) there is less builds than overall strategy when facing those
Doesn't work no more
mmm the build its not that "broke" basiclly you have to run out of a lot of fights and why to run, you have the deathstalker shit and max dex, its like having 2 turns to smash a person even if you don't have the assasins passive you just focus on hit with secondary weapon first, hit with primary or even smith... wait one turn.. oh! they are surpised so no attack on you, kil the mthfck in the second turn become invisible, move the fight ends, you attack the next victim and repeat. In act one from level 3 on dual wielding you can do that. The war priest charge is per long rest and I hate the mechanics behind it, you cant turn it of f
For the guarding bond if you are going to use the hireling you can multiclass it sorcerer for the twin spell thats 3 levels and after you level it up in cleric warding bond is a level 3 cleric so at level 6 ... ending of act one you can already have the warding bond and as soon as you get the glaive you get you elemental buff for weapon
Nice video, but not a build for me this time. Just too much exploit usage and me personaly i dont like these run out of combat builds, but that is just my preference. I can see how broken this build is, it is just not up my alley. Cant wait for your next build...
Skyrim music?
Why not weapon with finnese?
