Great fiddlin', reminds me exactly of Kenny Baker's playing. He is my fav fiddler, but must say Blaine Sprouse is a very close 2nd;) I had the privilege to play with Kenny once while he was touring with the great dobro play Josh Graves. I am 26 now, and that was when I was a little fella. Keep up that great smooth smooth fiddlin' !!!

    Shan,
Many advanced players could pick up that tune at that speed; however, beginners to intermediate would have a hard time getting it at your "slow speed". It's really medium speed. I've been at a lot of fidle workshops. To teach a tune, most teachers break a tune down phrase by phrase and explain the up-down bows. It's very difficult to catch your bow directions and slurring on the video.
Most people seem to need it slower to learn it.

Seriously man, your Angeline the Baker on youtube is the best that tune was ever done. I just don't know how you get the power in the way you play, maybe it's the shuffle or what I don't know. To answer your question, anything!!!! anything you play well man post it. You are seriously talented and lower level fiddlers like me have very few places to learn from. But to answer your question, whatever is a standard bluegrass tune you do.

Thanks so much I found this really helpful! Your little 'twist' on the tune is great, it works well with my more 'bluesy dirty' fiddle style! Very well done for your first video

Very nice job explaining what you are playing and you showed it well. You are a very good player and your fiddle has a wonderful sound. From a fiddle teacher and Kansas Fiddle Champion. I will share this with my students!

Hi, I have the same problem. You do what you have to do. I change my hand position and either play flat up to the first joint, or use the side of my finger.

Hey Shannon. I'm trying to sell this fiddle. I've had it since 2008 - I actually bought it by accident. Didn't really need it because I already have a handful of fiddles. I simply had never done ebay before and a friend told me to add a few dollars onto the offer and someone would eventually outbid me. I was the only bidder. I play it now and then. It's a nice fiddle really, though it looks a little rough. Let me know if you have any friends who may be interested in buying it at the same price ($600). I put new geared tuners ($150) in the instrument, so it's really nice and easy to tune. If I don't sell it soon, I am tempted to just give it to a couple neighbor boys (9 and 14) for Christmas. Their father died and their mother has terminal cancer, so they moved here from Wisconsin to live with their uncle who is my neighbor. I think a cool fiddle might be a good way to help them get acclimated here and feel welcome.

I would post a video on TH-cam of you playing it so people can hear and view it, also I could share it if I found someone looking for a fiddle. Thanks

@@ShannonWheeler76 That's a good idea. I think I'll do that. I'll ping you when I do. I have it out all the time to play too. I work at home and so I can pick it up and play. Any tune you think would be a good choice to share? Anyway, like I said, I bought it from you by accident, but I wasn't disappointed. I usually use that fiddle when I have to play in a pub or the like. I keep my precious fiddles at home on such dates.
