I use those thing all the time. I fill the bottles part way with butane or propane (acetylene and/or oxygen if available), and then pressurize them. Set them next to a small flame source on a calm day and it's huge ass fireballs and kabooms all day.
Those are a great idea. Really good to get out and start plinking but with a bigger boom. Pretty safe for kids to learn as you said. Thanks for the great video.
Awesome display of Charlies KaBoom caps. I've been shooting them from way back when they were Charlies Big Blast. If you ever get down towards the Coast of NC look me up and shoot some of my PCP airguns. Got a few FX and Kalibrgun airguns and love to target shoot. Bring Noah and we'll have him shooting grapes at 50 yds no problem!

Two weeks too late, I didn't even know you were back! I use the red caps on the cheap three liter bottles at around 120psi. You can make it boom by throwing a rock at it! Safety first of course though, those pressures (the bottles can hold more) make the bottle a bit unsafe. 120psi seems like the sweet spot, nice boom and relatively safe to handle but you still don't want to be near it when it goes off. Plastic shrapnel is no fun.

Have you tried the Kvintor Blik Air Gun Pellets that explode and spark? If you can still get them? Have you tried darts in the air guns?
I bet you could make some nice wall art for your boy's room with those paint filled bottles. 2 or three colors on a cheap canvas.

We had the one for two liters. Those bottles hold about 150 psi. I shot it with a .22 and it sounds like a .45 going off.

60psi works good with the 1/2 liter bottles, bigger bottles like the 750ml can take 90psi
