I watched a video earlier when someone was standing on the ground basically under the flight path of the plane used to drop it. It was a huge plane and it had to fly low to drop its load. It was kinda cool but in a sad sort of way.

Trees are genetically evolved to fight fire. Houses aren't.
The bark of trees is actually really fire resistant! Particularly from trees in the northeast. Unless they're clustered together in a fire, like in a forest, they're much harder to catch on fire than a building or grass. Although it is possible and likely the heat from the fire has totally destroyed their root systems and insides, meaning they'll die soon, but still stand as dead wood.
For the same reason you don’t cut down a healthy tree and immediately use it for firewood. It’s too wet. Has to dry out for a long time before it will burn.

Well, the US build houses out of paper, and trees are wet and have had millions and millions of years to evolve against fires. A tree doesn't burn very easily, but a paper house will.

Eugene, OR here. Some blame all the uncut fields all over and all the downed trees in forests. Some attempt to link it to "climate change". But it is obvious that sort of damage is a building code/zoning problem. They like to 'cram' as many houses as they can into a small area here in Oregon due to zoning. That's fine but it looks like they need to work on fire control.

Not all trees are easy combustible. In fact most trees in the suburbs are not native and are not ment to burn. They tend to have a much higher moisture content than native species which are ment to. Its part of native species life cycle. Also houses are dry af and tar pitch roofs are not that flame resistant.

The greater the pain we go through, the greater the love. The whole meaning of life is to learn how we got here, where we are going next, and in the meantime, how much love can we bring ourselves to show to those around us, all in preparation for our next life, which by the way, will be a spiritual one.

If the water content in the tree is outstanding, it makes sense as to why its still standing. You ever throw a fresh cut, live tree on a fire? Doesn't burn for hours. Just steams. If that.

Not really? Trees (when they're alive) have a lot of water in them and are physically much stronger than any wood used in a house's construction. It would actually be a lot stranger and more suspicious if it were the other way around.

Trees contain moisture, and most trees native to the American west have bark designed to withstand fire because fire is a regular part of the Western landscape.
Houses on the other hand are made of dry dead wood and filled with plastics and other accelerants, so once a spark catches hold the whole thing will go up.

I live in Oregon City. Trying to figure out where this is exactly? I know we got up to Level 2 Evacuation at some point but didn't realize the fire was actually in my city. Still super smokey here, hoping that clears up soon. I feel so sorry for everyone this happened too.

Trees in fire-prone areas develop thicker bark, in part, because thick bark does not catch fire or burn easily. It also protects the inside of the trunk, the living tissues that transport water and nutrients, from heat damage during high-frequency, low-intensity fires.
The trees probably retained the most of what the helicopters and planes were dropping to stop the fire. Just a theory. I'm not an expert

This breaks my heart for all these people. People say "Well at least you are alive. That's just 'things' that can be replaced." Well, that is something people who haven't experienced total loss say. These are not JUST houses that burned to the ground. THOSE ARE HOMES WHERE LOVE FILLED THE AIR AND HEARTS.
My family's home was wiped out from Hurricane Katrina. Every memory erased. Generations of Family photos gone, letters Mom & Dad wrote to each other when he was a merchant sailor overseas. Birthday/Christmas cards Mom saved from her sisters that had since passed away. Gifts we made in grade school for them for Mother's and Father's Day.
And 15 years later it still hurts whenever I yern to lay my eyes on photos of us as babies, pictures of my parents when they were first in love, pictures of my sister and I throughout the years are especially painful. We lost her 1 yr after Hurricane Katrina. She had a massive heart attack due to stress from the storm. OUR FAMILY GATHERING PLACE WAS GONE...FOREVER! WE WERE NOW SCATTERED ACROSS LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, KENTUCKY.
So I pray hard for these families. May God wrap his loving arms of comfort around them all. May he ease their grief and mend their broken hearts.

I have 3 family members near fire areas now...: ( Years ago My parents new log home was hit by lightening & was entirely burned to the ground, completely gone.... 3 people barely escaped, some w/ burns, & the brows & lashes were burnt off my moms face. That’s how hot the fire was. 💙💙My heart goes out to all the people suffering because of the wildfires. 💕💕

What can I say besides I'm absolutely shocked, horrified and extremely heartbroken. The utter devastation is heavy and I wish there was something I could have done to stop it all. These were people's lives, belongings and safe haven that were destroyed in an instant and there is no greater pain than loss. I'm so so sorry

The capillaries in trees have water in them which makes the tree itslef naturally fire-resistant. Unfortunately, the same cant be said of the dry leaves☹

A tree or shrub can be fire-resistant if it's non-oily, deciduous (drops its leaves in winter), large leaved and/or has high-water content. These fare best when exposed to high heat or fire. It helps if they are healthy, well hydrated and free of dead wood as well.
Another reason is trees in fire-prone areas develop thicker bark, in part, because thick bark does not catch fire or burn easily. It also protects the inside of the trunk, the living tissues that transport water and nutrients, from heat damage during high-frequency, low-intensity fires.
When are people going wake up and realize this is all being done on purpose. Agenda 21 is in full effect.

Nearly all of these fires are the result of arson. Yet another arsonist was caught on camera yesterday in Kelso, Washington.
