Bright Love

I had just created a sound that I liked but knew I wasn’t going to save it so I decided to just play and record a quick jam with it. That jam, which is the bass/chord combo this starts with and that runs through out, became a song. I turned on the vocoder, started singing random words, and “Bright Love” stuck. So I had to write the song called “Bright Love”. For some reason a spoken word part seemed appropriate. I'm not sure if you can call that part a “rap”, but I don’t know anything else besides “spoken word”.
Synth nerd stuff - a brand new Pro-800 was a big part of this (the part described above was recorded two hours after unpackaging the synth). Poly-D did a simple bass, helped with percussion and was the synth solo in the middle and at the end. One Rev. 2 sound. VC340 vocoder, of course. Synclavier Regen helped with percussion and is heard in the last chorus. The chorus has a tambourine and shaker part (acoustic instruments. Of course there is my voice, both spoken and attempting to sing.

Trent. This is incredible. Where to begin... the lyric had me singing along. Landing on the dark chord when you said "darkness" and the beautiful major chord when you said "light" was not overlooked. The "spoken word" is really appropriate. It is a bit of your style completely. You have a good sense of melody but know exactly when to "dry it out" into a spoken phrase. The lead line at the end was really good as well. Loved the whole thing.
This is one of my favorites which you have done so far. Excellent work!

Thanks, David! Funny, the "dark chord" is actually a D major, it just sounds dark in context, and returning to the Eb is super bright. I had no choice but to put in a word to match... I had a lot of fun doing this recording and am glad it shows through
