    i know it’s faster and easier to just do laser on your body but personally i think i’d rather take the time and just do my legs,arms,bikini, and armpits through electrolysis because i’d rather get it removed forever then having to do it forever

      Most people treat the bulk of hair with laser and return for electrolysis on the lighter hairs the laser misses

      @@lalaland2751it actually costs more to do laser on the legs than electrolysis! The doctor I used to do laser hair removal with said one session of laser for the legs costs $600. My electrologist charges based on time. So a 1-hour session of electrology costs $90. So in the end, 1 session of laser hair removal is worth more than six 1-hour electrology sessions! Plus laser is not permanent, so you'd end up doing more treatments and paying more than if you do electrolysis.

    I have a scientific background and I have researched these methods in detail for my daughter. Thank you Melis for an excellent video for girls out there. It feels genuine, and not a sales pitch. Electrolysis is the only definitive way forward, and some laser therapies such as Alexandrite can stimulate the hair and aggravate the situation in young ladies, and this video clearly recommends the best way forward on the face to really only be electrolysis. Brilliant video. Keep us updated as the technology evolves and as your experience widens. Thank you Melis once again.

    Heyho, I'd just like to give my two cents from my experience.
    Being properly hydrated an moisturized before the treatment seems to help a great deal aswell.
    I now usually drink about a gallon of water on my way to the appointment and apply aloe beforehand.
    My electrologist gets the hairs on the first "zap" and rarely needs to use her tweezers since the hairs just slide out with the probe.
    It's been really fast and painless these recent sessions.

      You must have super thin roots! Im doing the chin and neck area for about 2 years and I have the same pattern as Melis and there's still a bunch of thick rooted bastards. But I drink mineral water beforehand (i didn't know hydration works) and the lady doing me was asking me they're sliding out quickly

    Had electrolysis done successfully on my chin, upper lip, armpits, stomach, nipple area and just started my leg journey (starting with lower legs) to also help getting rid of my strawberry skin that has been bothering me my whole life. The pain is real but it's somewhat tolerable. Armpits where next level. Impossible without numbing cream. My first electrologist was a newbie so I had no success. I changed to another more experienced one and it made a difference after the very first session! I'd say the face takes the longest. I only had few hairs but it took more than 3 years to get rid of them. Still one or two tenacious ones left. Underarms were easy (6-8 clearings until gone).
    With each appointment, less and less hair needs to be treated, therefore sessions get shorter and shorter. Legs are a whole different story. They'll take long, maybe 18-24 months of consistent sessions. Electrolysis is slow, takes time, commitment and costs a lot of money. Don't expect immediate results. But since I'm into removal and not reduction and 2/3 of the hair on my thighs is thin and blond, electrolysis is the only option. Trust me, your patience will be rewarded with glorious skin.

    Biggest tip from my Electrolysist- WITCH HAZEL. She applies it during the treatment with a cotton ball and I use it every day between sessions.
    Bikini line is very painful- in my personal experience- so I apply 4% lidocaine (over the counter) 1 hour and again 30 mins before treatment. I will be trying a new Rx only numbing cream from my doctor- I hope it helps to numb even more so than the lidocaine.

    I have been having blend electrolysis. But due to distance, I was unable to attend as frequently as I needed to, and after a year, i feel that there is no improvement to my chin or jawline. But.my.upper lip it has worked brilliant.
    Just had my first session with a new practitioner( both sets were registered with institute if electrologists). This new one suggested we try diathermy. I felt the discomfort was similar to blend. Tolerable for about 30mins.
    My skin reaction is stronger after today's treatment, then it was with the blend .
    I didn't feel as many hairs were snapping off, or tugging , with todays treatment, and as it us closer to where I stay, I will be able to go every 2-3 weeks with ease, so I'm.feeling positive .

    Hey Melis! Can you please do a video on at home laser devices (IPL) like the Kenzzi and Philips Lumea Prestige? whats the different between at home laser devices and laser machines at a professional salon? why do at home devices promise permanent hair removal of fine dark hairs on fair skin while laser machines at the salon doesnt?

    • @malakismail4432
      @malakismail4432 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I just wanted to say that I have the kenzzi and used it for months! It worked well on my upper lip,arms,legs,and underarms(but not completely, just lessened it in these places) but did nothing for my chin. Again, no hair is gone permanently but especially on my arms and legs the hair is less and not as noticeable if I don’t shave for a few days. But if your chin is an issue for you, kenzzi didn’t do anything there for me since it’s hormonal I believe. I’m looking into electrolysis for that now :))

      @Mar10la 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this comment is old, but I'm going to share this for anyone who reads it: I used the Philips Lumea Prestige on my legs, armpits and bikini area. In all areas, my hair growth got significantly worse. Much longer, darker and thicker hairs appeared and I have been dealing with them even since. I basically spent hundreds of euros on making my problems worse. Would not recommend it AT ALL! If you are set on trying it, please just do a very small area for a couple of months/half a year to make sure you are not getting yourself into this nightmare.

I get wicked dysphoria from seeing a five o'clock shadow on my face. No matter how close I shave, it still shows up. Hi, I'm a trans woman from Australia, I've been getting galvanic electrolysis in combination with waxing on my face.
      Recently I've begun DMK alkali treatment as well.
      Laser, ipl, thermolysis and the combination of galvanic/thermolysis are not as effective for permanent hair removal and can lead to extreme collagen degradation especially on the face something us transwomen really don't need. If all you can afford is waxing then that's better than laser therapy.✌😃👍🇦🇺

      Due to shaving hair is stimulated and you get more hair on your facial area and laser only makes hair thinner, finer and reduce hair growth hair may grow after 3,6 months or sometimes after year... I have been doing for 2.5 years done my 15 sessions but didn't get a better result.... • @itsmelisates
      @itsmelisates  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey numbness can happen especially on the chin. If it’s still numb after a couple days, use a warm compress (warm face cloth) to bring blood flow to the area. This will help! For future, i recommend doing a shorter session and asking for the hairs to be spread out (rather than treating every hair). Tugging is ok, but plucking the hair out is not ok. You can try someone else to compare the sensation 😊
