Who Are The 5 Jedi That Used A Double Bladed Lightsaber? 🤨

- Darth Maul’s double bladed lightsaber is iconic but are there any Jedi who also used this weapon?
And there are actually 5 who did!
And starting off we have Jaro Tapal who appears in the Jedi Fallen Order game as Cal Kestis's master but he did use a double bladed lightsaber!
But someone who used 2 double bladed lightsabers is General Pong Krell!
Yeah!
He said one wasn’t enough and decided to rock 2 at once!
Now you’ve heard of Jedi Master Bastilla Shan if you’ve played Knights of the Old Republic and she was not shy in using a double bladed lightsaber!
And just like her mother, Satele Shan followed in her footsteps and used one as well!
But Jedi Master Atris was unique in her fighting style as she studied lightsaber form 7 Juyo
but even though she had a single bladed lightsaber, she also had a double blade at the ready and knew how to use it!
And honorable mentions are the Jedi Temple Guards who all wielded a double bladed saber as well as Exar Kun who was a Jedi but fell to the Dark Side! - บันเทิง
Totally had a brain fart when posting this video but just correcting myself that Satele Shan is NOT Bastila’s daughter but her descendant!
Thank you just about to post about that
Cal kestis?
Same deal, really, the Kotor lore is all over the place anyway 😂 I didn't even bat an eye when you called her Bastille's daughter
Bastila
Like great great great great great grand daughter. I might be 2 greats off. Lol😂
Bastilla is NOT Satele’s mom. They are 7 generations and 300 years apart. Satele’s mother was Tasiele Shan.
100% correct! Totally slipped my mind when posting this! Thanks for pointing that out 👍
Who like Bastilla before her did not like what the jedi were becoming and left. Hell, they proved her point she left Satel a letter, and they burned it, afraid that if she read it, she would leave the order as well.
I was about to say the same thing when I heard it 😅
I didn’t know that so Revan is her ancestor as well
AHH good times jedi could have sex, could've saved them from order 66 too
Bro forgot Cal Kestis the most customisable Star Wars Jedi ever 😂😂😂
Facts
ngl thats why i love Cal. hes learning whatever he can to survive the dark ages
To be fair. Cal is using Jaro’s lightsaber.
To be fair cal uses pretty much every lightsaber type available in his time period
Its his now and customized it to be a double bladed again.
Pong Krel shows up
Me: Ugh
Best comment 🤣🤣
@@kidreaper2275 thank you
Him and Nolan are the people I despise the most in Star Wars.

The 8 foot 4 armed jedi wielding a pair of double bladed lightsabers was so sick to me as a kid.
Even though he was the most terrible character
@@StarWars_TheFan yeh but he sure was cool looking. And written really well as a good character to hate.
@@jbear9 too true
@@jbear9
Facts, I hate Krell but he's a great antagonistic character
I mean, yeah his fighting style was cool, but unfortunately he was a terrible person and decided against the Jedi, also treated clones worse than any other Jedi.
We don’t talk about Krell…..sick SOB right there
You see 4 green and blue blades coming towards you and you think it’s General Grevious- panik
It’s Pong Krell- kalm
IT’S PONG KRELL-PANIK
Nice lol
It is a BIG pity we never got to see Pong Krell vs General Grievous. That would've been legendary
Yea that fight would have been amazing
@@charlieluth6185 pong got taken out by clones before it was funny, my money is on grievous. It's probably why he did what he did.
Exar Kun wasn't just a double bladed lightsaber user-he was the one who first created it.
Obviously you do, otherwise why would you bother to answer.
Exar Kun.... The OG 💯
Also Exar-Kun's double bladed lightsaber only had room for one hand, making it a strictly one handed double bladed lightsaber
@@Aeg0r So, you just came here on the comment section of a Star Wars lore video because you need to call someone "nerd"?
Ok bruh... You have our attention.
@@Aeg0r I bet you had a rough childhood 😂 calling someone a nerd and says who cares? Why would you even bother to comment if you dont care 😂
As someone that has only dabbled in Star Wars (I’ve only seen the main franchise stuff), it’s becoming increasingly apparent that all of the coolest stuff wasn’t made by Disney.
The Sith destroyed everything.
Bruh you mentioned Cal's master but forgot Cal himself. XD
Because cal doesn't really specialize in double blades in Canon as far as I know, his whole thing is that he basically does everything with his blade
@@randymarshislorde(spoilers for fallen order) pretty sure you get the double bladed saber on ilum
@@Hvision0000 yeah I think you do but (spoilers for Jedi survivor) as Cal grows his skills he gets access to a variety of combat forms. He not only switches up his Lightsaber itself, but he also seems to go through a variety of different lightsaber forms while doing so.
Idk how much of the games are considered canon, but cal gets the ability to use a single blade in his own custom stance (seems like a combination of maybe 1, 3, and 6), he can activate a second blade (with the double blade I think he maybe takes influence from form 4 mostly), he can split his double blade in half to dusk wield a standard saber in his primary hand and a Shoto (short) saber in his off hand (maybe something like forms 3 and 4 combined with Jarkai), he can also use his standard saber and a blaster in his off hand (he uses a form that looks similar to form 2 for his saber stance when using the blaster), and he can also use a cross guard lightsaber (its not just a normal crossguard saber either, he switches to using both hands on the saber hilt and uses what I believe is closest to form 5 and both the hilt and blade of the saber are longer)
My point was that he isn't a specialist in using a double blade as far as I know. Of course, he absolutely can be if you make him one in your game, he can potentially be unstoppable in any combat form if you get the right talents/perks and become skilled enough... But that's going to differ from player to player and I have never heard any mention of him being a double-blade master which makes me think it isn't part of canon
@@randymarshislorde not reading that but thanks for the spoiler warning tho
@@Hvision0000 it's np, and I don't blame you. The TLDR is that Cal does all kinds of different stances and styles with his lightsaber and doesn't specifically stick to double blade, so I wouldn't consider him on this list
Krell fell to Dark side too
Krell fell on the floor too
Keep betrayed the clones too
He’s more of a dark Jedi, not a sith
Fun fact, Exar Kun was the inspiration for Darth Maul's lightsaber.
I don't think Exar Kun should be an honorable mention. He was already Sith when he made a dual-bladed lightsaber. As a Jedi, he dual-wielded lightsabers
The temple guards don’t wield a double bladed saber, they use what’s called a saber staff. Exar Kun is the 1st true wielder of the double blade. May the force be with you, always… 😅
Pong krells lightsabers were also larger than usual lightsabers because of how big he was
Since a specific time period isn’t mentioned, Shado Vao used one - as well.
You forgot one of the Jedi master Sarro Xaj who was one of the five Jedi who fought Darths Bane and Zanna on Tython.
Ah yes. Which one was the battle meditation Jedi during that fight? Also, I remember some big dude with double sabers.
@@NinjaSushi2 Jedi master Worror he was an Ithorian. He was accompanied by a Knight called Johon Orthune. Plus Jedi Lord Valenthyne Farfalla, Raskta Lsu who was perhaps the greatest Weapons Master the Jedi order ever saw. Sarro Xaj another Master who welded a double bladed lightsaber and was a giant. They were all killed through a combination of circumstances during the fight and because of a combination of Banes obelisk armor and his skills which allowed Bane and Zannah to last long enough for circumstances to allow them their opening.
And Jaden Korr, from Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Cal Kestis: umm hello
He was no longer Jedi by the time he was actively using it
@@ladychrya9379 He was close enough.
For a thousand generations of Jedi with the Galactic Republic, it is hard to fathom less than 10 (excluding temple guards) used double lightsabers.
I believe in canon, Cal Kestis uses a double bladed lightsaber by default. (With a blue blade)
But of course, in the game, he's about the only Jedi to ever switch between all forms of lightsabers. Single, dual blade, dual sabers and crossguard.
To my knowledge, krel even had special double sabers as I believe canonically it's actually bigger than the standard.
Yes. He made them bigger to match his size.
I know Cal’s is highly customizable, but I’d say it’s a double bladed lightsaber. It’s base form is a double bladed saber that, from there, you can split in half to have single or dual wield, as well as cross guard functionality
It IS a double-bladed saber because its a combination of Jaro's and Cere's lightsabers.
Pong Krell actually used 2 Lightsaber club staffs (for those who don't know a lightsaber club is just a GIANT lightsaber, but it is a different variant in and of itself)
Yep, and it sounds even better!
Forgot Cal Kestis, and some Jedi that will show up int the Acolyte series too.
Exar Kun's double-bladed lightsaber is amazing.
If you take games into account - all apprentice/padawans of SWTOR wielded one.
I am glad you included Exar Kun. He was the first we saw with a double bladed saber.
Blud forgot Cal like he doesn't like him😂
Grievous with four double bladed light sabers would be awesome
Sith: you must bleed your crystal and use the red.
Exar Kun: yeah, no...
As cool as the OG Exar Kun is, Master Vodo Siosk-Baas deserves an honorary mention simply for holding off a double-bladed lightsaber with a wooden stick. That's badass.
You completely ignored the fact Cal uses his master's Double Bladed Lightsaber during the events of Fallen Order (at the beginning of the game one of its emitters is damaged, so he only uses it as a single blade until he acquires a second emitter either by finding Cordova's lightsaber on Bogano over the course of the main story or get it early by bravely going to Dathomir (which is what I did on my first playthrough)!
You can also find it on kashykk 2
For as long as there have been Jedis it's hard to imagine no one used a double blade before Maul.
No... Many people DID use double bladed lightsabers before Maul if we're talking in-universe. I mean, Bastila Shan, Satele Shan, Exar Kun (who INVENTED double bladed lightsabers), and Master Atris all lived thousands of years before Maul did. And that's just examples from the video. There's a lot more named Jedi who used double bladed lightsabers well before Maul, another example being Kira Carsen and Jaesa Willsaam.
Orla Jareni, a way seeker from the High Republic era used a doble bladed, that kinda folded and became a double wide single blade. It's werird, white, and awesome.
And our exile Meetra and Revan. They could do what they wanted and it was just another Thursday afternoon for them ( Mace Windu joke here)
Cal Kestis' lightsaber was capable of single and double hilt. Zez-Kai-Ell used a purple double-bladed lightsaber, and Atton mentions double-blades were very common among the Jedi that fought in the Mandalorian Wars. Many SWTOR Jedi, including Kira Carsen and Nadia Grell, also used them. I'm not sure why anyone would make this video this way
Exar kun was the the first known user of the double edged light saber but I vaguely remember something about a sith holocron that taught him how to make it
Cal Kestis after seeing this: Atleast ive got a poncho
It would make sense if Rey used a double lightsaber because it is similar to her staff in the force awakens.
Don’t forget Kira Carsen and Nadia Grell.
Exar Kun is an honorable mention but was pretty much the first.
Satele wasn't Bastila's daughter though. I think it's something like 300 years between KOTOR and TOR.
Also, Exar Kuns double bladed lightsaber was unique in that it's hilt/handle was only the length of a single bladed lightsaber hilt.
Kiera Knightly could underratedly make a pretty cool Jedi
Also, at the battle of geonosis, there were many double bladed lightsaber wielding jedi, but I think they all were dead by the end
I think you forgot about Ahsoka Tano (and Starkiller)
Pawn Krill is my favorite jedi ever
If Luke wanted two lightsabers he
only had to ask the council .
I remember there was a video game I had as a kid. Where Leia had a purple double edge lightsaber.
Even though she usually kept it split in two, I think Asajj Ventress also had a double bladed saber
Cal Kestis himself is also a Jedi who uses a double bladed saber.
satele is in swtor bastla is in kotor if you've Played either game You'd know that Swtor Comes centuries after reven Knights of the Old Republic making bastla setele's great (x12) grandmother
General Pong Krell, "one double bladed lightsaber isn't enough" so he used two instead! Lol 😂 I'd Loved to have seen a match up with Krell Vs. General Grevious that would've been epic! Not too say that it couldn't be done in a future video game that involves time travel lol also I'd just enjoy to see a movie with Pong Krell & see him hash it out with his enemies because the small excerpt in this video looked dope
savage oppress as well he is a real one!
I think Shado Vao deserves a spot here.
Unpopular opinion: Pong Krell was a badass Jedi
Exar Kun was the only one to truly use a double bladed lightsaber, everyone else used saberstaffs.
He was the one who created it, and the fact that he only has a measly honourable mention at the end is wild
And to think Rey might have ended up in this list as well.
I might not like the Sequels very much, but turning her staff into a double blades saber would have made Rey at least a little bit cool. We never had a protagonist like that before in the movies.
Yeah it would've made sense since she had a staff
I don’t like how you mentioned Exar Kun for like .2 seconds when he originated it and was the most deadliest duelist ever.
This isn’t in any visual media but there’s a dude from the 2nd Bane novel who wielded a huge double bladed lightsaber. There’s probably a lot more actually
*My random Jedi Knight who multi-classed into shadow*
" Hey?"
Ah, a SWTOR player
Bonjour fellow swtor gamers
Exar kun is the inventor of the double
why does exar look like mads mikelson 😂 awesome
"5 Jedi"
And a LOT of Temple Guards who were also Jedi.
You knew Pong Krell was sus when you saw he rocked 4 blades. Any more than one was frowned upon by the council as jedi we supposed to be peace keepers
The one you were talking about was not Master Atris, those images are of Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile. She did had a single bladed and a double bladed lightsaber
You forgot about Jedi Master Pong krell he still was a Jedi Master Before the battle of embarra he was one of the most best users ever seen on screen of using 2 double-bladed lightsaber or double bladed lightsabers.
You forgot to mention Orla Jareni who wielded a white foldable double lightsaber 🤍🤍
And there is me abusing double bladed in every playthrough in Jedi Academy xD
Considering there's thousands of Jedi in the Old Republic era alone that did... I don't think much needs to be said here.
I always used bastila Shan's lightsaber throughout the game and I beat the game 4 or 5 times from the beginning.❤
the joy of someone meantioning all the stuff disney deams not cannon.
Dagan Gera did too
Pong Krell also fell to the darkside :P
Krell feel yo the derk side as well
General grievous with four double bladed lightsabers 💀
No jedi would survive, and general grievous collection would grow more
They would just hit each other all the time
Not you mentioning Exar Kun but not mentioning that he was actually the one who INVENTED double-bladed lightsabers.
Everyone forgets that ExarKun created the first double-bladed lightsaber It's in Dark horse comics go look it up.
Yes it's legends but it's still the only thing worth having in the Star Wars genre
also zez-Kai-El. He was one of the masters in kotor 2 and wielded a double bladed purple lightsaber
You can't forget Orla Jareni. She was a jedi who decided to become a wayseeker, and she wielded a folding double bladed white lightsaber. Served during the High Republic 200 years before ep. 1.
Didn't know form VII had and old variation. Cool
The only reason more jedi don't use them is because they're frowned upon. They're seen as too aggressive, since they're intended to be used to overwhelm opponents.
There was another jedi who i cant remember the name of who was killed by darth banes apprentice who also used a saber quater staff in the fight.
Pong Krell also fell to the dark side
Forgot one! Zez Kai Ell had a purple double bladed lightsaber in knights of the old Republic 2.
Bro missed call kestis the guy who can change his lightsaber throughout the game smh
Exar Kun? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time
It is just a thing where you can say "yeah lots of jedi did" it's very common and all the ones that we saw weren't the only ones. Same goes for reverse grip, deal sabers and cross guard??? Not sure on the last one tho.
Not to to mention all the unnamed jedi from during the old republic era....
If KOTOR and KOTOR2 Remake did happen, I want my Bastila, Meetra, Astris and Revan to be beautiful!
The double bladed lightsaber has always been my favorite
I still can't believe they didnt give Rey a double sided lightsaber, she already was used to using a staff as a weapon, it would have made so much sense
Pong Krell is one of the main reason that I can’t take TCW seriously 😂😂😂
Exar Kun only getting an honorable mention.....the guy who invented the Double Bladed Lightsaber
Pretty sure the temple guards used lightsaber pikes, admittedly similar to double bladed lightsabers but with a longer handle
And krell is so huge so both dual sabers are giant you should see them next to a clone
Juyo is the Rey we should have gotten
Jaro kinda fights like thanos🤣
Exar kun and Cal Kestis left the chat
