Join me as I take out the old and come in with the new. We get rid of our oil leaking Saito Fg61ts and install the Fiala Valch VM70V1. This is a weird shaped engine have everything located in the rear. It was a challange to find the room to fit it all and still make all the linkages work. This 4 stroke sounds amazing and should be very fuel stingy. Special thhanks to Sky Monkey Rc for the custom designed fuel tank mount. Check them out on FB. Lets Go!

Looks great. Just FYI building that tray with a bunch of lightning holes might actually end up making it heavier than if you just made it solid and printed it with a lower infill. All those holes require perimeters which make the part heavier. It also makes printing a lot slower.

When the engine was running, going up and down the throttle range, looking from the port wing, I see a little too much movement of the firewall for my liking. Consider reinforcement options?
It’s just the way the camera picks up the crank sensor. It weird. But has solid mounts on 1/2 ply. Thanks for checking it out and commenting. Never wanna miss something

Hi, could you please explain a little more about the oil leak, was it both cylinders? was it exhaust oil or oil from the crankcase (which they say to add some oil to) I have a new 61ts and don't understand what your issue was. thanks!
My fg under any condition other than idle would push a nice flowing stream of oil out from between the rocker plates and the cylinder head. It was NOT from the valve covers. So the valve covers bolt to the rocker plate. The rocker plate uses one tiny screw and bolts to the cylinder head. That is where the issue was on both side. The cylinder head has one brass bushing that is pressed into it and seals against the rocker plate. Started after about one gallon of fuel on all three replaced engines. The oil was that bad it come out of the cowl on the bottom, side vents, blew into the engine box inside the plane. It was a mess
@@JustPlaneCrazy mine has two tanks run at this point, will watch for it. It's going onto a 1/3 spacewalker, and the heads extend outside the cowl a little, hopefully that will keep the oil on the outside. Thinking I will also fuel proof inside the fuse past the big hole in the firewall where the carb fits into. thanks for the info!
If it becomes an issue it will get so bad the plane gets covered. It seems hot or miss. Some people have no issues and some ho through several. Weird.

It’s maiden ready. Got some work and weather issues so I am still waiting to maiden. Last two vids are almost done.

Wont the exhaust heat be enough to melt the silver solder later?
It is not hot enough. It took a lot of direct heat and twisting to get it to come apart. Good question. I wondered the same initially

What is your temperature telemetry setup? I haven’t been able to get my temp loops to work with the 8360T, 8020t, or 637t receivers. Are you using a powersafe rx?
It is a powersafe. I had an inaccuracy issue. Finally found a bad factory solder joint at the resistor. Works well now
