She's brilliant, I love her! Also one thing I find really interesting about this incarnation - she doesn't like the idea of being alone, whenever she has to part ways with her companions (even if temporarily) she always looks so down, and she didn't take Ryan and Graham leaving well at all with her on the verge of tears at the end of the special... thankfully she still has Yaz but I can only imagine how she must feel, this Doctor definitely values friendship and the company of others, and I love that!
Her last 3 incarnations didn't exactly part with most of their companions under the best circumstances (I'd say last _8_ if it weren't for the fact that Nine broke the cycle while War never had companions as far as I know), and Ten (and Five, and Seven, and Eight) in particular ended his life in a very downer note, and while more bittersweet, Twelve still died alone. Can't blame her for not wanting to go through that again, and at worse, become Time Lord Victorious again, especially with the Valeyard being just around the corner
River, Doctor’s wife, told the Doctor to never travel alone. She knew that not only does he/she/they enjoy the company of others, but really, they need it. No matter who they regenerate into.
So while the Doctor hates goodbyes and never admits to enjoying the company of their companions, do they still love and value them? ABSOLUTELY! ❤

This non-canon Doctor is unable to be liked. Jodie Whittaker played a much better character in my Chameleon Universe Doctor Who (the playlist on the channel will explain why it's called that)

I like her. She’s fun. One little detail I noticed, she only goes for the Authority when it’s just her and the villain. She doesn’t do the big epic thing in front of her companions, so it seems the Overly-Talkative and socially awkward side is just a facade she puts on in front of her human friends... just something I noticed.

Yeah, that's kind of doctor's only repetitive trait, like how ten was like: "you have the library of the universe, look me up." and eleven was talking with this goofy like: "fear me, I've killed hundred of time lords." and then eleven was like: "Fear me, I killed all of them."
She channels 11 and 10 around the others and brings out 1 and 12 around the baddies.
If Peter Capaldi was the incarnation that brought the Doctor the closest to his dark side, Jodie balances him by being the one closest to his light. She’s so whimsical and curious, and kind. She feels like the version of the Doctor they always wished they could be. But between the time war and all the losses they faced through out their travels they just had too much of a heavy heart to embrace that lighter aspect of themselves. But with Galirfey saved and 12 finally coming to terms with his identity and the question of “am I a good man”, they were finally able to put the darkness aside for a while, and enjoy just being a joyful traveler
Well spoken! When her era started I went through a difficult time but watching 13 and her advenuteres helped me to not solely focus on the bad things which happen in life but also the good stuff like spending time with your loved ones. I´m really gonna miss her and hope that we see her again in a future special.

Or the time Graham admitted he's scared of his cancer returning and she's too socially awkward to console him?? Or the time she used the Master's new ethnicity against him by revealing his appearance to a bunch of Nazi's?! Completely ignored Yaz's feelings!? I dont think any other Doctor has been this incidentally cruel.
@@terminatrix92What would you have done in those situations? There was no time to deal any other way with the spiders to protect the city unless shooting them. At least she was honest about not to know what to say right now (which some people also feel in reality). Dealing with the Master is never easy and he had it coming. To be fair she could have been a better friend to Yaz but calling it "cruel" is a a bit exaggerated.
@@93Chowo I could forgive some of those tactics? But all of them?! She could have led the spiders into the tardis and dropped them on another world? Killing them humanely would have been more acceptable than starvation! Remember Eleven and the star whale?! He willing to make it brain dead over causing it more suffering. And Thirteen literally just walks away from Graham when he's asking for comfort. Even Twelve would have been kinder! Ultimately in Doctor Who there's always a better option; unless the writers aren't good enough to figure it out... My problem with Thirteen is she's so emotionally disengaged from her actions its borderline sociopathic! All jokes no consequences
@@terminatrix92 Can I remind you how the 10th Doctor drowned the children of he Racnoss? Or how the 12th Doctor at first didn´t care about that Clara´s boyfriend died and didn´t comfort her? I think the 13th Doctor isn´t the only incarnation which is "cruel" regarding their actions. The Doctor isn´t an almighty god who can just do what they want to so the outcome of situations can´t be the best but more realistic ones.
To be honest, I love this Doctor a lot. While the writing wasn't like the previous holders torch, she was great. I also like that they tried to continue a storyline from the original doctor who from 7th's era, being the timeless child. I am also not affected much by that episode either and rather enjoyed that train of thought and how it filled in plot holes from classic who and also redefined the lore into something deeper and possible a bit darker if one gave it a really good look. I am probably in the minority when I saw I kind of liked the timeless child, as I really don't mind. Though I do understand why it is... 'disliked'.
yeah i don't mind either but hey who knows a lot of them may agree with it in the future depending on how it goes on past this point.

Which is too bad, as I love this Doctor. I don't have a problem much with this doctor as I have a writer's brain, as my mom calls it, and understand what the show was going for. I don't focus too much on the commentary of the story for real-world things, as I do for the story itself in the show. That's why I love doctor who. And so many people write for doctor who, in books and audios, and create a story within the universe that it is amazing.
I just hope that the fandom doesn't give up on this show, just because of this doctor.

I hate how so many people are down on Jodie just because she's the first female Doctor. She's totally made the role her own and will set the mold for future actresses who play the part.

Mostly they're down on her because she's written as more helpless than all the other Doctors, and doesn't exude as much authority as they did. Whether that's up to her being a female doctor, her particular acting style, or the writing taking an inopportune turn during her run, is up to interpretation.

Jodie was a great incarnation of the Doctor, since it was really interesting for me to see a female Doctor and her personality was really fun. Like everyone said, it was those damn writers couldn't do one job.

She’s fantastic, just let down by the writing and-personally more importantly-the directing. When she first enters her new TARDIS, it’s a bunch of boring shot-reverse shot, and all four of our main characters are standing there inorganically, and absolutely none of them even seem excited. The Doctor, especially, should’ve been frantically running about, inspecting all the new buttons, considering pressing random buttons was the very first thing she did when she regenerated.
I absolutely love Jodie and her series. it was so much fun 💜💜💜

Yes. But Chibnall's writing could work with a different actor, and Whittaker could do great with a different writer. Something about them together just doesn't work.
i found they worked really well on broadchurch together! and chibnall was really good at writing parts of torchwood.. not sure what happened when he got to doctor who though. i do feel it's getting better in recent episodes but i don't think jodie's the problem, it's chibs.
@@capaldiskidneys No, I totally agree, I just mean Chibs and Whittaker together create a totally different character than what is needed for the Doctor. It's a good character for something else, but separately either one of them could've created a better Doctor with a different writer/actor
@@capaldiskidneys yeah, broadchurch was great! S12 was better then s11, but the recent special was rediculously underwhelming. Its odd. Its like in Doctor Who chibs has gotten in habit of delaying and putting off the meat of the story until the last 5 minutes and then rushing it all.
@@alicequinn505 I think Chibnall’s understanding of the Doctor is very rooted in the Eleventh. You know, bombastic, overly-talkative, does the thing where: “Did I tell about the time I fought inter-dimensional dinosaurs with Alexander the Great? Nice chap.” And that makes sense, four out the five previous Doctor Who Chibnall episodes were for Matt Smith (and yes, I am aware he wrote David Tennant’s 42).

I think it’s interesting how this doctor very much had the desire for family and friends but at the same time I feel like 13s companions knew the doctor the least.

coming back to this right before Ncuti Gatwa’s first solo special and i’m remembering how much fun the memes from this era were. Dirt eating, Scrunch Nose(TM), Ed Sheeran, the BENNI lady from that one episode… like, genuinely, watching these series live and interacting with the more positive side of the fandom during it was a BLAST and I can’t wait to rewatch them as more of a part of a set with the rest of the series than as its “own thing” and see how genuinely fun it was after being separated from it for a few years. also, great video, it really got to the highlights and reminded me of all of these things i totally forgot about
I feel the same way as most people, Jodie did a decent job but the writing screwed her over, could have been better, etc. Something I haven’t really heard people talk about is the new Master. Simm’s master and missy did absolutely amazing but this new master does crazy better. He is like a mix of Moriarty (from Sherlock) and the Joker but with time travel. I think he did a terrific job with the acting and any episode he was in was automatically better.
Aww you left out my fave! When telling someone she's the Doctor, he said, "The Doctor is a man!" And her reply: "I got an upgrade." :D

I gave up after her first season but was always told that she was written to be just a female 10, but after watching this, I see how many of her lines are almost directly lifted from 11. Eh. She's such a good actress, I just honestly hate all of her plot lines. I swear it comes off like a bad Doctor Who fan fiction, minus the sex. 😂
