DEEP SEA FISHING Trip off the Coast of Koh Samui, Thailand - Mr. Tu Fishing Day Trip

- A Koh Samui Travel video where we take you fishing with us and Mr Tu Fishing boats. A fishing trip when visiting the island of Koh Samui is a must and something we always do 2-3 times every time we visit Koh Samui, Thailand for a 3 week stay. Mr Tu Fishing Trips are one of the Top Excursions available to tourists visiting the island. We always take the Day Fishing Trip Option where the Itinerary is as such (itinerary from 2019):
- 09:00 am Transfer from your hotel to Big Buddha Pier by Mini Van (we stayed at the Baan Chaweng Beach Resort at Chaweng Beach).
- 10:00 am Depart from the Big Buddha Pier for the days first fishing area.
- 12:00 am Lunch and soft drinks are served onboard. Fish caught are prepared on the BBQ and then there is leisure time for non-fishing passengers where they can swim and snorkel in the sea.
- 13:00 pm. After lunch and leisure time onboard fishing begins again.
- 17:00 pm After a long days fishing we arrive back at the Big Buddha Pier where our Mini Van is waiting to drive us back to our hotel (we stayed at the Baan Chaweng Beach Resort at Chaweng Beach).
According to the Mr Tu Fishing Brochure the Program Includes the following:
- Full Insurance (we also have our own Travel Insurance)
- Fishing Gear, Baits and Lures (if you loose or damage fishing equipment you may have to pay to replace it - this we are told by the crew members before the fishing trip begins)
- Lunch buffet: fried rice, hot fried chicken, prawn, hot potato, salad, bread, fresh fruit, fresh BBQ with your catch, soft drinks, hot coffee and snacks
- Refreshing Towel
- Free mini bus pickup service at your hotel (also return to your hotel)
- English speaking guides
- Life Jackets
* Beer is available for sale onboard
Price for a fishing trip according to the Mr Tu Fishing Brochure
- Fishing 1.500 baht/person
- Non-Fishing 1.000 baht/person
- Child 5-11 1.000 baht/person
* These prices and what we have described are taken from the Mr Tu brochure from 2019 and from our own fishing experiences on the Mr Tu Fishing Excursion. We always negotiate the price we pay for this Day Fishing Trip ;-)
We have been fishing with Mr Tu Fishing multiple times on our holidays to Koh Samui and can highly recommend sailing with them for a fun filled Day Fishing Trip for the whole family. Next time we visit Koh Samui we will again be fishing on the Mr. Tu fishing boats. Mr.Tu Fishing also organisers Night Fishing Trips, Day Trips to Koh Tao, Koh Nang Yuan and to the Angthong National Marine Park. Private Speed Boat Tours are also available which include fishing and snorkeling tours around Koh Phangan and Mr. Tu also appear to offer Full Moon Party excursions.

When watching these videos we just feel like we could be there at that very moment, really missing Long Distance Travel. We miss Thailand and our fishing excursions. These fishing trips are always the highlight of the holiday and the food onboard is good too! It does not look like any of us will be travelling very far in the near future with Coronavirus numbers on the rise again. At least we have our video memories! Hav en god aften Peter! :-D
A lovely day tour.You recommended me this tour like 3 years back in comments but I missed it thinking that I am not a fishing person but the views were well worth experiencing it. Always good to spot a plane that close on the island of Koh Samui. Thanks for showing how this tour looks like. Those litchis taste great anywhere in Thailand. I was in a similar boat trip in Phuket. The biggest problem or downside that I experience in these kind of boats is the use of diesel. The smell of diesel smoke made me very uncomfortable with teary eyes and runny nose. I did not get the enjoy much, also they're bad for the environment. Hope they find out other ways to run these boats. :/ But your video is really nice. Brought back so many memories.

These types of Day Fishing Trips are something we highly recommend doing when visiting Koh Samui! We have also done them in Phuket and always have a good time. We know that you enjoy the Trip Reports and are happy to say that there is a Long One on the way (will be ready in a week or two - we are not sure yet because it is long and needs quite a bit of editing to audio etc.). Oh my God it's a nightmare fishing trip .. it's ridiculous ... there is NO FISH in Koh samui vicinity .. I have seen tens of boats going fishing and coming back with this small fish that are illegal to keep in every country where common sense still works ))
