in the outpost at 1:28 dont land your hellpod on the cages, you just go right through and get stuck inside unless you use a grenade, then the cage is open but theres more body parts
When it comes to helldivers, it’s hard to tell if changes are doing for game balance or lore reasons. I thought that the automatons had superior armour plating… I think the fact that they are stealing our metal is an indication that they are running low on their original supply source and are resorting to using our metal. Of course we have always (or at least I think lore wise) had superior fire power.
"Bots using our metal for armor" which honestly would make them easier to kill, our armor is so trash it can't block a single low cal round lmao. So yeah it's gotta be because they are running out of materials in places, or just simply using it as scrap metal to be re-processed into the actual armor they use given their armor is particularly... good... compared to ours anyway.
Could it be that bots resort to stealing material because we took over one of their main ore resource planets in a major order for the construction of the Democracy Space Station
I think it's kinda like how the non gen 3 synths are from fallout 4 where they kill the population of a particular point of interest and are using the resources (bio matter includedsince gen 3s need bio matter to be made kinda like how bots use humans for bio fuel.) Since their tech isn't to far off from ours considering they use a normal terminal for stratagem jammers. Something they've done from the start and have been doing
When you consider the Attrition rate and the fact we pushed them completely off the map once before, its far more plausible they are strapped for resources.
Considering the collection of bodies, I wonder if they're going to somehow reanimate dead helldivers using a unholy hybrid between human and machine. Could be that they're researching cyborg tech from the first game considering their control on Cyberstan. Imagine a rotting corpse with wires, circuits, and metal bits grafted on charging at you. Or just more advanced cyborgs I guess.
Another detail is that the jump pack the automotons have stolen have the old jump trejectory, while we helldivers have the new jump trejectory on our "updated" jump packs, which ties in well with the lore that once they started to loot our jumppack. High command decide to upgrade our jumppacks to have the advantage against them. Also, the automotons changed and modified the stolen jumppack so much that they became unstable, which is why they explode when we shoot them. But don't stand to close to them or you will be set on fire.

I love the story details in this game. Like one of the most intriguing ones is all the 'secret caches' you can find where some citizens living on the frontier have hoarded supplies and, more importantly, sometimes serious firepower like even a Railgun that they somehow managed to 'acquire' despite in-game the weapon is all but outright stated as being a highly restrictive weapon (only accessible by veteran Helldivers who've reach rank 25 at least). It all implies that these caches are not just rainy day type of deals but are perhaps part of some underground operation, possibly ran by revolutionaries looking to one day overthrow Super Earth's government since a rebellion is exactly what would be needing such firepower and supplies.
Whenever I played against cyborgs in Helldivers 1, I always destroyed/gathered any equipment left behind thinking the cyborgs might use it (they prolly do in lore but it doesn't affect gameplay directly). It's one of the ways I truly immersed myself in the game.
