A round trip wouldn't necessarily cause you to time travel to before you left. You have to consider the movement through space of the object you depart from. You will at most, return to it at the exact time you left.
It doesn't matter if you returned or not after your jump out time. Just your arrival at your destination at FTL (or any interim point where you were traveling at FTL) would alter the spacetime at a point in time that is, at best, coinciding with your departure. Your arrival would interact with that locality and ripple out as gravitational waves, reflected or radiated photons, and anything else that travels at the speed of light. It would propagate in an expanding sphere, at the speed of light, and eventually reach whatever point you left from at a time from at, or before, you left (depending on whether or not it was instantaneous transit or just some multiple of light speed) and create a paradox by not being the same as what you were able to observe before you jumped to FTL. Those outgoing ripple effects may not be detectable by our instruments, but they would still interact, at a quantum level, with fundamental particles. So, maybe, you could travel to, by FTL, to new universes, under the quantum multi-verse theory, but you could never come back to this one. Every time you engage your FTL/wormhole drive, you'd be jumping to a completely new quantum-state universe.
@@Aaro4ify in the past they thought that breaking the sound barrier was impossible... Then they broke it. WE WILL BREAK THE LIGHT BARRIER!!! AND ONCE WE DO, THE UNIVERSE WILL BE OURS!!!
None of the previous barriers humans have broken required breaking the limits of reality itself, though. Not saying it can't ever be done, but we're many orders of technological magnitude away from even achieving one percent of light speed right now.
@@davidtatro7457 The technology to reach several percentages the speed of light has existed for decades, see nuclear pulse propulsion. Some engineering hurdles surely exist but the main enemy of such propulsion methods is funding, regulatory and perhaps lack of drive. But current technologies would allow for upwards of 5% light speed if developed.
If this type of travel is truly possible, think about the implications. We probably aren't the first intelligent species to evolve. There are undoubtable other intelligent species from other star systems which have been around a lot longer than ours, maybe even on the order of millions of years older. So if this kind of travel is possible, others have likely accomplished this feat, which means they might already be here. Perhaps some UAPs are evidence of their presence. This isn't a big leap of logic. To me it seems like a natural conclusion from the hypothesis.
Just look at the huge number of UAP sightings documented by military and other credible sources, imho there are tons of evidence for those "visitors", wherever they're from. And there has to be some kind of technology at least behind parts of the phenomenon.
And those who would take us to the stars..By facial expression if that's a present guidepost..worn and weary of and by those who thrive on suits . Wearing down anyone gifted to the point of continuous distraction
I completely agree there very well could be more evolved species out there. It’s funny because I was watching race to witch Mountain the other day, and they were asking the children. “How did you get here so fast?” and they were like we got here by wormholes. I completely agree with your sentiments on us probably not being the first and if we achieve this kind of technology application, someday being big.
The relative positioning of one universal aggregation from another is in many specific cases faster than light speed. So, the simple, precise, and concise answer to your question is this : the relative aggregated positioning.
An instant jump eliminates collision risk but only along the trajectory. If you jump blind a lightyear away, there is no way to know whether an object has moved there in the year it took the light to reach you. You'll need to send an unmanned scout, also equipped with a jump drive, ahead; have it record, return, confirm it survived and the ambient properties, then do the big jump. This could be automated and I envision the scouts being made as small as possible. But it would reduce the distance traveled per unit time, and the total distance every jump covers - unless you're willing to risk "overshooting" your unmanned scout.
Can't we just use the same methods to try and accelerate the information FTL, so the spaceship could just scan potantial destination for nasty stuff that could be there?
You skipped pretty lightly over the use of vacuum energy and especially the process for extracting it. How is it done? Can we do it? Has it been done here on Earth? If not, why not? Perhaps we should figure out how to clean up our world by using vacuum energy before we go gallivanting around the Universe for the recreational value of same. Good program, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but a vacuum (or in a plasma, gas, atmosphere, liquid or solid; but they're ignored as a theoretical simplifying assumption, to help focus the hypothetical/theoretical discussion) the space-time is permeated by an electro-magnetic (em) field, so a vacuum is not really empty from an energy perspective. This is why photons can travel through a vacuum because they can be thought of as em energy fluctuations in the em field. In Classical em Field theory, mathematically formulated using Vector Calculus by James Clerk Maxwell, the em field is continuous through which radio/light/X ray/Gamma ray photons propagate at the speed of light. Each photon consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields (oriented in the direction of the photon's travel), at an angle of 90° to each other, or to put it another way the oscillating electric and magnetic field orientations in the direction of the photon's travel are orthogonal to each other. In Quantum Field Theory, the em field permeating the space-time vacuum is quantized and fluctuates all the time with discrete energy levels, as quantized photons propagate through it. Some Quantum Physicists visualize the Quantum (em) Field as something similar to the foam that sometimes covers the sea, and refer to the quantized em field as a Quantum Foam. One consequence of Quantum Field Theory, is that virtual particle-antiparticle pairs spontaneously emerge out of the Quantum Foam and at time scales of femtoseconds to picoseconds annihilate each other in a flash of Gamma ray photon pairs. I read somewhere that one theoretical consequence of an Alcubierre Metric warp field is where the space-time distortions are the strongest, virtual particle-antiparticle pairs emerge from the Quantum Foam at concentrated levels, and there could be a Gamma ray hazard to a planet if the starship is facing the planet when it arrives and the warp drive is switched off to allow the starship to enter orbit. The hazard to the planet could be avoided by the starship trajectory pointed at a tangent, to its stable orbit, so the Gamma ray stream is directed away from the planet's surface and atmosphere. I have wondered if these virtual particle-antiparticle pairs could be somehow harvested separately, as additionally sourced zero point or vacuum energy to sustain the Alcubierre Metric warp drive.
Wasn't it always like that tho? Things we once considered an impossible fiction we can only imagine, into a modern reality, in one or another way Internet is a great example of this

You can't exceed cold repulsion without expansion into mass. Mass is the fastest heat propulsion in neutralized repulsion within the mass itself. Space is stationary cold repulsion within mass, and repulsion within mass is neutralized as an outward force of pressure known as weightless outside of a greater internal magnetic field. Mass is the fastest cosmic speed limit of magnetism. Magnetism explains everything about physics. Space is a weak external magnetic field filled with dark heat energy singularities propulsion momentum as maximum momentum velocity in repulsion to and from cold repulsion that is space. Distance traveling is always equal to the force of pressure. Fire is an external magnetic field. The closer you get, the more force of pressure. The farther you move away, the less force. That's a magnetic field. External heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as potential renewable heat energy when absorbed into internal magnetic fields grounding currents through its nucleus or core where external heat energy released from internal magnetic fields grounding currents through its nucleus or core where external heat energy is released from internal magnetic fields disolving. The universe moves through space as cold repulsion. External magnetic fields spinning all external heat energy outside of the sphere or core cycling circulation around these monopoles of pure repulsion within spinning all external heat energy within its field like a record on a record player centrifugal force of pressure held in magnetism bonding force. Mass is always outward force of pressure as occupational space. We are moving through a giant refrigerator. Removing heat leaves cold space itself behind. As mass moves through space as space within mass point to point chain reactions through all space in forward momentum traveling. Distance traveling is always equal to the force of pressure. Faster than normal heat energy singularities, propulsion momentum is how mass is formed. Heat singularities are spun into cold repulsion of space faster than normal momentum and cold repulsion to heat energy singularities propulsion momentum from cold repulsion redirecting heat singularities backward onto itself as internal magnetic fields. Hello hydrogen. Hydrogen has the strongest internal magnetic field of the elements. Distance traveling is minimal and the force of pressure through its nucleus or core cycling circulation strongest. As mass expands its internal magnetic fields expand in equalization to magnetism throughout space as space. Expansion is accumulation or disolving magnetic fields within magnetic fields. Alpha and Omega. Magnets show both poles of repulsion to heat propulsion. One pole is stronger incoming momentum velocity and the other redirected trajectories backwards onto itself as internal magnetic fields grounding currents into itself and surrounding mass. Magnetic fields affect all masses in its field. The closer to the core the greater the force. Like fire as an external magnetic field disolving internal magnetic fields into external heat energy outside of entanglement of mass as potential renewable heat energy. Light is only present in resistance lighting up surrounding atmospheres that heat strikes without absorption. Black holes are external magnetic fields spinning all external heat energy within its field like a record player centrifugal force of magnetism. Light doesn't travel heat does. Stars release heat and heat hits atmospheric gasses unabsorbed lighting up the path the heat waves are striking. Lightning proves hypothesis. Instantaneously heat loss unabsorbed heat bouncing off mass lighting up the atmosphere lighting bolt is the collisions of outward force of pressure from outward pressure collisions. Mass is always outward force of pressure known as impaction with a magnetic field. Theoretically factual probability that works with quantum physics without gravity is magnetism magnifying heat.
We need three vital things to travel in space. 1. Faster than light speed by 10. 2. Shielding. Without shielding a pea hitting the spacecraft at those speed would destroy it. 3. Artificial gravity. Without it we will just turn to jelly on long voyages.
Assuming you could build a device that spins in place FTL, would you experience time dilation if you were inside the device as it was spinning FTL? My underlying question is, Do you need to travel from Point A to Point B going FTL in a linear fashion to experience Time Dilation or could you experience it inside my proposed stationary device?

Just nice to hear a human voice and pronunciation. The documentary is interesting and I'm not smart enough to know whether or not these are real possible solutions to FTL...
I just happen to stumble on one post that is a compilation about Gravity and anti-gravity, when I refresh the main page it displayed more topics such as this, when in fact, it was so very hard to find a post that talks about Anti-gravity years ago. And now, I'm glad that they are allowing someone to freely post i presume, any discussion, topics, explanations on space travel and non rocket propulsion engines. No more IF POSSIBLE OR NOT arguments. So, with all the different recorded footage that are happening in our sky plus this, could this possibly mean that these are a form of a Soft or Indirect disclosure of a long overdue Technology that's been kept secret? ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) has been obsolete sine the 70's or earlier.
Soft disclosure gets my vote. I have a section dedicated to alternative propulsion and antigravity research. Let me know if you find anymore good channels to follow.
The scientific community's accepted theory is that Time and Density are linked specifically referencing the variation of time recorded with atomic clocks placed at separate altitudes and another conducted by placing an atomic clock in the pyramid of Giza and the other a short distance away. The results revealed the clock in the pyramid to be slower and thought to be caused by the sheer density of the pyramid.......So if time is altered based upon Speed AND/Or Density......could you also conclude that Time alters speed and Density?
Ftl travel isn't the only option. If we can find an energy source that's powerful enough to make it possible, that same energy source should be enough to open a Rosen Einstein bridge(a wormhole) to go from point A to point B instantly. There would be no need to go so fast if you can take a shortcut through space. Think bigger people!
I am glad that realistic ways of faster than light travel are being discussed, even going mainstream with departments of NASA like the Eagleworks Laboratory researching it. A decade or two ago the scientific community would crucify scientists from going down this path of research. What are your thoughts on why we haven’t run into intelligent life using such technology? That is the one thing that concerns me about the long term prospects of FTL travel, as we cannot find any solid evidence of non Earth based intelligent life visiting our solar system. My personal opinion is that several Fermi Paradox explanations come into play. 1) Intelligent/technological life is rare. 2) Such life is very far away, we may be the only intelligent/technological species in our local cluster of galaxies. 3) The universe has only recently began to spawn intelligent life and we may be one of the first, my favorite theory as we may end up being an intelligent elder race someday and get to witness the evolution of other intelligent creatures thanks in part to technology discussed here.
Mr I am a big fan of all your videos and I follow them closely, Also admire your work as well. I had never written on your channel, but recently I have been thinking about the theory of relativity and questioning the always assumed to be as it is todays stated, what I think it is not the absolute description of nature. Then on this video I listen to you going directly accepting it as a fact, where the time dilation has not been proved at "long scale", sincerely I think it is missing something fundamental before basing nature and the modern calculations on the "dilation" of time developed only mathematically and pushing it to the edge using theory, Theory is not the description of nature, we will approach as much as we can to a description using theory. I think when we achieve very fast travel if we achieved it and I believe we will the time "dilation" will not be as it is told by relativity theory, time might be independent even from space if something is missing in the middle of the description before applying the Lorenz transformation. I think we must not be so much concerned about the time dilation when developing faster travel, more than that on what is space and if really it could be stretched or deformed, or if it is just the framework where energy propagates and can not be deformed, or if relativity theory as beautiful as it is is just a very complex mathematical description of the influence of gravity on space all over all objects and mater and time was included to enriched it after a experimental result and theoretical experiments also of what would happen in presence of a gravitational field or accelerating fast, I think time is independent even at high speeds or in a gravitational field, I think all the development of the theories used on this developments could be executed considering time absolute
Be very careful to not arrive before your start time? If nothing else, you could always "chill" out in interstellar space via cryoststasis for a bit, whenever your current time is coming too close to your start time.
There are no issues with cause and effect because matter with mass cannot move faster than light speed. But if we simply move non-matter around us faster than light speed, we will experience no causal effects whatsoever because we aren't moving. That's actually one of the major issues with this channel/many others; they will oversimplify and say that any motion causes time dilation which is false. We are already moving faster than light speed when compared to objects at the other end of the universe. But time has not frozen for us because relative motion compared to any random point alone doesn't matter.
But in order to make the warp drive work, wouldn't spacetime need to be completely folded back onto itself creating a pocket of spacetime outside of the relative causality of the rest of the universe? Seems like alot of work.
Of course it is a lot of work but it is also vitally necessary as well. In time we will create a video explaining the process better still, for now: th-cam.com/video/oA16rcak_qA/w-d-xo.html
@@asteronx the part that worries me more than the energy requirements is the potential for a bowshock buildup of particles at the front of the ship. It will all depend on how an enclosed spacetime bubble interacts, if it does interact at all, with everything while in transit. If particles buildup, there could be a catastrophic Shockwave that could eminate from the ship coming out of warp.
@@matts9371 This would only roughly-basically true for positive energy warp bubbles (mass reduction) for interplanetary travel, not FTL interstellar travel. The intra-block is completely separate and made of tachyons (which do exist). It's more complicated that this simple statement. The starship must be surrounded by tachyons, how this is achieved is an entirely longer conversation. This is why we're planning a video about it.
You have to realize what spacetime is made of in terms of quantum entanglement. Then you have to store gravitational potential energy in the entanglements which leads to a warp field.
Sir loved your video thank you for trying to educate us I will be watching this video a few times to try and understand everything you have talked about
Something to work on: Since heat is based on inertia, it must behave like gravity to wanting to stay in place. And with heat in Space being radiation. heat will not want to go faster then the speed of light, without the research of making the heat energy frictionless with any holds on it as radiation's build is heading toward.
So is constant motion maintaining logic without the need of energy to maintain the constant motion state, gives this question: How is constant a meaning of frictionless strength?
Thus the atoms reaching the speed of light would not need extra energy support to maintain their speed, thus avoiding to become energy itself again, or not needing to be losing its body.
The logic of how to extract the energy that would accelerate mass to and passed the speed of light would be to research how another's star's atoms sense and cooperate with our solar system's gravitational exchange, at the atom levels. {Frictionless exchanges by the presents with/of inertia support of one another.}
Plus note the fact of the atoms sensing power between stars distances, has the atoms of the other stars generating the light we see showing them to be present.
Faster than light travel with a space drive designed to transport a driver through space such that the driver has the control over the direction has the following problem. The drive has to warp, modify, undisturbed space ahead of the drive under control of the driver. This results in the conflict that the intended change of space has to travel from the initiator, the driver, faster than the drive, to in front of the drive to a place where faster than light travel is not possible. Focus is laid on the way that a part of space would be isolated from the rest, but interface region between normal space and warped space has to maintain its position with respect to the drive. Movement of curvature of space is called a gravitational wave. Such wave has been proven to move with the speed of light. Thus, since the protection bubble around the drive, the modified space under influence of the driver, can't move faster than light also the drive inside that region can't travel faster than light.
Hello, If you were moving 99 percent the speed of light would it take 101 percent of say earth time to travel to a 18.77 light year distance? with you experiencing 3 mo of time? and then for the return trip the same? with your original departure point experiencing 37.54 years? with you experiencing 6 mo? assuming round trip with no variations in speed. have i got it right? Thanks :)
First of all, I loved your presentation. As you surely know we did manage to create antimatter. The microns of it are hard to contain. Creating a an AM-fusion could wipe out a galaxy as we know it, but it would be a perfect power source for FTL(black, shadow,...). Well not really FTL but sub-through subspace drive. Still need to create shield technology. With our current even micro meteors are damaging our space station daily. Wouldn't like my ship to fail because space dirt. Time dilation is whole other thing. We can't even touch that, just theorize.
I can't imagine the Shrodinger Equation being wrong. I would like to know more about this. Also I thought that Planck time was the shortest unit of time.
I don't know how to make a warp drive but I know how you figure it out. Substitute water for space and figure out how to make it work with water, then the rest will fall into place. Have a few ideas.
I enjoyed the presentation, and felt that it expanded my knowledge of issues of interstellar propulsion. However, I found the music a distraction, thus begging the question: Was the purpose of this work to inform? Or merely entertain? It would seem that modern audiences are inclined to ignore documentaries that lack orchestral accompaniment. Thank the gods for Mute buttons and Closed Caption.
The statement about interstellar travel being impossible without faster than light travel is just not true, reaction drives can take you to other star systems.
I myself have tried many things but thats a really really tough problem to solve. Quantum tunnelling and wormholes look like the closest thing we have to actual ftl drives.
Move to call Slower than light travel (STL) now Point C travel, to cause less confusion in conversations? Plus it now makes C the slowest we can go! Just a thought.
But as you approach light speed your mass infinitly increases. Thus even all the fuel in the universe is not enough to make your ship reach the speed of light. Einstein claims that. Even at CERN this is shown by the particles that they accellerate having the mass of a freight train, just beffore they smash together.
I mean it’s from a movie but it was said “we misread Einstein. That what he said was nothing could accelerate past the speed of light. He never said anything about multiples of C.” That always stuck with me.
what happens when my space ship is in the middle of a great void and I bring my ship to a compete stop zero what happens to my volume, my mass and my time??
It creates paradoxes either going faster than light or finding a way around it so it's probably not possible and as space is so big it would mean that meaningful interstellar travel might not be possible either.
Things are only impossible until its not. finding away around the speed of light the light isn't impossible tho that's just a way of bypassing causality the warp drive itself doesn't really exceed the speed light because the space around the ship is carrying the ship along Which seems like aparrent ftl or effective ftl speeds it doesn't create paradoxes because it doesn't really Brake causality because the ship itself isn't really travelling faster than light it's the space around it.
If a "force field" around a craft that eliminates any and all types of interior Force applied that doesn't mean that while traveling through an atmosphere it won't make any noise....if the craft is moving just faster than the speed of sound the force field around the craft would be pushing the atmosphere aside at the same rate......thus causing a sonic boom!
I think that more than that, creating some kind of force field also implies that whatever is inside it is taken outside of space time, with the ability to move freely in any direction unbound to any physics law. Like UAPs who move in strange ways defying physics.
Please, watch Theories of Everything with Curt Jaimungal, and Salvatore Pais. Take a closer look at the math. "Its not new physics, its a new perspective on old physics."-Pais The Pais Effect is real. Get excited people!
Once you've gained the necessary initial knowledge base (Internet as your resource for self education), the changes are not difficult to track and learn.
Traditionally time dilation occurs when travelling through "normal" space-time, and the starship is accelerated to relativistic speeds. until the starship travels close to the speed of light. One way to achieve this, is to use an electric propulsion rocket type of thruster. Although as far as we know such a propulsion system could never reach the speed of light due to the infinite energy requirement, to gain the extra few per cent to reach light speed. My understanding is that time dilation doesn't happen with an Alcubierre Metric type of warp drive, and much less energy is required to travel at light speed or faster, compared with the most energy efficient electric propulsion rocket type of system. IMHO an Alcubierre Metric or some variant is the type of warp drive propulsion technology we should develop.
I still think we are alone, but no harm in exploring the many types of planets and stars. I can't wait for giant Space Cruise Ships where thousands of passengers can explore. I think we would need materials from asteroids and other planets, mainly so we don't reduce the mass and density of our planet and moon. Because who knows the negative effects that would cause. This would have to be constructed in space.
I think it's very unlikely that we are alone in the universe the universe we live in way too big for us to be only intelligent life to exist Intelligent life existing elsewhere is actually possible I think it's likely we will encounter alien life if we were to explore the cosmos.
If we could ever warp time I thought you could just stick matter in a chamber and send it from one time to another then once it has been through time sufficiently it will age into antimatter and we would have a large quantity seemingly instantly. Would require a time mirror to bounce the matter back and also I can't solve for the fact that where and what is time and how to travel through it and probably a wormhole. I also thought if you had a micro black hole and as it was travelling you could latch onto its gravity and or electric charge follow it up to the speed of light then it would expire if you could stay out of its event horizon. Also if they are binary pairs which is ridiculously complex they might be able to be followed like a "chariot." However also as you approach the speed of light time slows down so I don't think it will hit the speed of light but it would likely be retardly fast.
Faster than light is not a possibility, the closer your are to light speed the more mass you gain. The more mass you have the more power you need and you need infinite power to attain light speed.
No, our fleet has been using the Holtzman drive for centuries. FTL is impossible, the only way for interstellar travel is Holtzman. That's why we have to safeguard the Spice. The Navigators need it in abundance. The Spice must flow.
With the jump to lightspeed and 'hyperspace', I wonder if George Lucas and his team ever had a look at this concept that is being discussed and worked on, and thought 'hmmmm, that looks interesting, I wonder how we can use it in a movie we are working on called Star Wars'. 🙂
That's it !! Anti gravity propulsion through magnetic hydrodynamic field propulsion through creating large electrical charges creating anti gravity field through magnetic coils and mercury plasma
Theretically speaking you could even write a message onto another planet from one distant planet to the other faster than light speed using a very primitive way, by having a drawing tool connected to a very long rode that also has a drawing tool on its other ending part as well...then (theoretically) when you would write something the message will kinda transfer instantly at the same time to that other distant planet in what considered as faster than light speed since it would be instant at the very same time but obviously in order for that to happen you would first have to build the long rode all the way to the other distant planet and that would take much more time and obviously it is not realistic to do so in any way but its an interesting idea and so simple yet in theory at least it is able to be faster than light.
Not really, you would have to send a signal through the rode to get the machine to write on the other end. On earth it's instantenous, kinda... Because of the short distance. But writing something on Proxima Centauri would take 4 and something light years because the signal can't get there faster than light.
@@griseld That's the thing with my simple idea..is that it would not have to use any type of electornic signal, it would all be completely mechanical in nature.
Yeah ramming the outside of your ship or double through a interstellar trajectory worth of radiation and particles “in a instant” probably means wherever your wind up has to content with all that undisposed energy about to react in a instant in front of you ship…
Its funny that we assume our understanding of the universe is complete and accurate, we have never measured distance to another star from anywhere but earth and near earth. We assume that stellar parallax measurements are accurate with no evidence beyond our equations. Yes its the best we have today but what if we are wrong ?
How do they plan to protect a craft at that velocity. Space is not devoid of all types of matter that if struck by a vehicle moving at 186,000 mps would reduce it to Swiss cheese.

I have hope we will figure it out. Since the beginning humans dreamed of flying like birds. While we can’t exactly fly like birds we figured out how to design a machine to do it for us. Human ingenuity is limitless and if there is a way to “game the system” of mathematics, we will figure it out eventually. We could be the first intelligent species in the galaxy. What if we are the “forerunners” of intelligent life that other civilizations will discover our ruins millions of years from now. I think we are living in the very beginning. Exciting times…As long as we don’t kill ourselves before hand.
Inventing Warp Drive, won't change the fact that Universe is expanding and Galaxies are becoming more distant with time. You may travel Warp 1000, you will reach destination in 1 year from travelers point of view....but in reality 1000 will pass on that star (on Earth too), so evaporation of stellar mass and universe expansion will continue same as if you went 99% of light. Now if you had wormhole portal, that takes you directly and you could be able to "save" much more stars before the Heat Death.
But still You wouldn't need a warp drives to travel at 99% lightspeed Warp 1000 wouldn't be stl be or slower than light though that's much faster than light that 99% the speed of would be warp factor 0.99 according to star trek. unfortunately there's a issue with wormholes they're require much more energy then warp drives Again warp drives aren't really slower than light because they can bypass causality just remember they don't actually break the speed of light becuse its space that's moving the ship not the ship itself the theory of relativity doesn't exclude apprent ftl isn't this the whole premise of a warp drive though? They don't actually brake causality and space itself has no speed limit. That comment you posted literally made no sense.
@@Aaro4ify Exactly my point, Warp travel is only benefitial for the colonists to reach destination in a lifetime, and for equipment to not wear-out, traveling in decades instead hundreds of years. But for us on Earth, and for the Star systems target of colonisation, time will pass as usual....so using Warp we can colonize (Dyson sphere) as many stars as using 99.99%. To go faster and "save" more stars from evaporating/heat death we need instant travel or teleport....which is harder.
@@mishkosimonovski23 I wouldn't say that warp travel only beneficial for colonists to reach their destination in a lifetime I'm pretty sure that the drive won't wear out if it's properly maintained the drive would be useful for interstellar exploration in a reasonable time scale not just for interstellar colonization an it would take a very long time for the stars to brun out and the universe to end in heat death though.
FTL Technology has always been a product of science fiction and is becoming more of a reality sooner than we ever thought possible. Due to the study of quantum physics, and all areas of quantum science... And mechanical engineering, the world's brightest and most intelligent scientists and engineers are in the process of creating an engine advanced enough to utilize antimatter as a source of energy that can change the trajectory of space flight for the whole world. Faster-than-light travel is still a theoretical subject on the terms of anything outside of the quantim realm, especially human-space travel. We may not see our first faster-than-light travel capable engine put in a space rocket many decades down the road. But it has moved up from an improbable figment of science fiction to a distinct possibility.
Did you ever consider that not the Light is too slow, but our sense of time too fast? For instance, 1 Day on earth = (more or less) 10 million years in a black hole, is that correct? Instead of flying faster, we create an artificial Solar system, with higher gravity, and problem solved. And yes, it sounds crazy (building a solar system) but FTL seems as well not very realistic, no?
You don’t need ‘tachyons’ or any other theoretical virtual particles- just the proton and the electron - Specifically electrically charged, fermionic tachyons and anti-tachyons, fluctuating as virtual particles in the quantum vacuum (QV) are highly controversial, the reason for the controversy is there is good reason that these are considered speculative theoretical particles that’s because a section of the physics community already knows or at least very strongly suspect that they can’t exist, i’m not going to divulge how I know however they would be right. Time is NOT and cannot be granular - the apparent ‘quantisation’ observed in quantum mechanics is a fundamental miscomprehension of the true nature of the atom specifically electrons- This all goes back to Maxwell’s original field equations in fact his third derivation of those equations where a quite subtle but very specific mistake was made- Time cannot be granular because fundamentally time doesn’t actually exist- this is why physics has yet to actually create a definition for time in physical terms rather it conflates time with space relativity being yet another dead end- It’s possible to create models of things that work about 80 or 90% of the time or even 99% of the time and then in special instances no longer hold true it only takes a fraction of a percentage of failure for an entirely new theory to replace an old one but that isn’t how physics work and we both know physicists cling to old ideas like sinking rafts in an ocean of sharks the sharks represent no funding and or ostracisation by the physics community- In any event I digress.. If you’d like to know more reply to this comment and I will see if we can communicate privately- I’m sorry to break it to you but tachyons don’t exist outside of theory there are plenty of things that go faster than light in a vacuum but tachyons as a particle model simply don’t exist-- Also one last bombshell to set your mind racing Prehaps a better question to answer than basing propulsion on the concept of theoretical particles would be to look at an existing particle that ‘travels’ AT the speed of light that is the electron a.k.a. the photon- and ask the question, what is the true nature of the electron! 😉 The future which is timeless NOW is with the engineers not the theoreticians-
We are still stuck with THEORIES from 1895. We need to get past old school THEORIES and get into pratical application. And light speed for travelling within our own solar system would cut it, but to go to other solar systems it is NOT practical. Only if you could travel 100's of times faster than light does it makes sense. The more logical THEORY to chase for interstellar/intergalactic travel is the creation of artificial Rosenberg Bridges (Worm Holes). Creating an artificial bridge is feasible, but making it open where you want to go is going to be problematic. Maybe pursuing a Fold System would even be better. In the words of Dark Helmet: Light speed's too slow. And just for my curiosity, how can you call something "Time Travel" when only the localized area around an object is effected? Time travel, and have it really as such, would require ALL time in all the Universe to either advance or reverse. Calling it time travel when only the localized time is effected does not add up to the rest of the Universe. It's more of a slowing of the time locally. Not time travel. And what other planet do you plan to "immigrate" to? We can't just land on a planet that has oxygen we can breathe and call it home. Not going to happen. Anyway, how about starting to BUILD these propulsion devices instead of just talk? You have the science and knowledge. Prove and disprove. Start doing.
NICE! Updated information about faster-than-light travel and a jump drive! Thank you
Indeed this video contains new information. Thanks
A round trip wouldn't necessarily cause you to time travel to before you left. You have to consider the movement through space of the object you depart from. You will at most, return to it at the exact time you left.
You could manage the return journey so you arrive a few hours after you left.
Yup, I see it like, time 1 leaves - the time light travels + the time spent at place - light speed spent on return trip = total time lapsed(traveled)
This is the next great barrier. Now let's break it. Like we always do. We have not failed before. We won't fail this.
We have broken the sound barrier before but not the light barrier.
@@Aaro4ify in the past they thought that breaking the sound barrier was impossible... Then they broke it. WE WILL BREAK THE LIGHT BARRIER!!! AND ONCE WE DO, THE UNIVERSE WILL BE OURS!!!
@@RandomYT05_01 Maybe we will oneday we would have to overcome certain technological hurdles.
Now if we only had one scrap of data showing that these ideas are plausible. Right now they are merely mathematical curiosities.
Yeah that’s not going to happen as they are full of s**t!
These so look like uaps and all warp ships too. Hmmm
Just look at the huge number of UAP sightings documented by military and other credible sources, imho there are tons of evidence for those "visitors", wherever they're from. And there has to be some kind of technology at least behind parts of the phenomenon.
Other beings are billions of years older then humans and have billions of times higher tech then humans and they made humans and the entire galaxy
@narrativeless404 to transmit light would require some mechanism of temporary spatial capture. Before reaching destination

Well theres could be a issue with the Fermi paradox though it doesn't explain everything.

Are you guys ever going to address the issues that FTL travel creates for cause and effect?
The way the ftl works here is that a jump drive ship effectively moves instantaneously thus bypassing causality entirely.
@@nil981 true
Going 99% of the speed of light...you'd blue shift all photons coming at you. Without quite a lot of shielding that's going to irradiated you.

Something to work on:
Since heat is based on inertia, it must behave like gravity to wanting to stay in place.
And with heat in Space being radiation. heat will not want to go faster then the speed of light, without the research of making the heat energy frictionless with any holds on it as radiation's build is heading toward.
So is constant motion maintaining logic without the need of energy to maintain the constant motion state, gives this question:
How is constant a meaning of frictionless strength?
Thus the atoms reaching the speed of light would not need extra energy support to maintain their speed, thus avoiding to become energy itself again, or not needing to be losing its body.
The logic of how to extract the energy that would accelerate mass to and passed the speed of light would be to research how another's star's atoms sense and cooperate with our solar system's gravitational exchange, at the atom levels.
{Frictionless exchanges by the presents with/of inertia support of one another.}
Plus note the fact of the atoms sensing power between stars distances, has the atoms of the other stars generating the light we see showing them to be present.

If I understand this correctly, then it sounds like the entire universe could also be a giant spaceship traveling inside another universe.

The statement about interstellar travel being impossible without faster than light travel is just not true, reaction drives can take you to other star systems.
Sooo… faster that light means time goes backwards? So you send something out and it comes back yesterday?
I myself have tried many things but thats a really really tough problem to solve. Quantum tunnelling and wormholes look like the closest thing we have to actual ftl drives.
It would seem, in order to achieve greater than light travel, the first step is to transform matter into non- mass.
Time
Thank you for the consciousness download.
He never said anything about multiples of C.”
That always stuck with me.
There is already a growing body of evidence for FTL particles that travel faster still: th-cam.com/users/shorts0UMI6zAdcms?feature=share
what happens when my space ship is in the middle of a great void and I bring my ship to a compete stop zero what happens to my volume, my mass and my time??
It creates paradoxes either going faster than light or finding a way around it so it's probably not possible and as space is so big it would mean that meaningful interstellar travel might not be possible either.
Things are only impossible until its not. finding away around the speed of light the light isn't impossible tho that's just a way of bypassing causality the warp drive itself doesn't really exceed the speed light because the space around the ship is carrying the ship along Which seems like aparrent ftl or effective ftl speeds it doesn't create paradoxes because it doesn't really
Brake causality because the ship itself isn't really travelling faster than light it's the space around it.

Got ideas myself. What gers me is that Physics is changing so fast.
Once you've gained the necessary initial knowledge base (Internet as your resource for self education), the changes are not difficult to track and learn.
Tell me how you will resist the friction of partical mass in space. Faster then light would be like traveling through a solid mass of particals.
This video explain it: th-cam.com/video/T-sJzON0mjM/w-d-xo.html
FTL is amazing. But, it makes only sense if the time dilation can be excluded.
@@neilruedlinger4851 interesting thoughts. Thank you. The future will show it.
How do you avoid slamming into an object in space traveling at light speed.
There is more to it, for now take a look at this: th-cam.com/video/T-sJzON0mjM/w-d-xo.html
It's all about the Quantum Field and Frequency.
1) warp drive
2) jump drive
3) wormholes
We’ve been putting all of our eggs in the same basket for 80 years. Sure hope it’s the right basket..
Well there is a saying that goes "don't put your eggs in the same basket" though.
@@griseld That's the thing with my simple idea..is that it would not have to use any type of electornic signal, it would all be completely mechanical in nature.
plus a system which is able to slow down the ship.
23:30 The energy supplied by Quantum Vacuum sounds like a bomb makers dream come true.
It's a also a catastrophy waiting to happen. FRB?
Yeah ramming the outside of your ship or double through a interstellar trajectory worth of radiation and particles “in a instant” probably means wherever your wind up has to content with all that undisposed energy about to react in a instant in front of you ship…
Its funny that we assume our understanding of the universe is complete and accurate, we have never measured distance to another star from anywhere but earth and near earth. We assume that stellar parallax measurements are accurate with no evidence beyond our equations. Yes its the best we have today but what if we are wrong ?
So if I left earth and got to tau ceti for work on time I've ecentially gone back in time?
Just watched the whole entire video while walking 🚶 3.00 miles
Where does Space Time flip/invert? Inside a black hole.
awesome graphics
I don't think Einstein's Special Theory mentions anything about Gravitons.
If you are travelling at or more them the speed of light how do you see what is in front of you ? How do you avoid collisions ?
This is how: th-cam.com/video/T-sJzON0mjM/w-d-xo.html
How do they plan to protect a craft at that velocity. Space is not devoid of all types of matter that if struck by a vehicle moving at 186,000 mps would reduce it to Swiss cheese.
Who know if this will ever be possible and also the unknown physical effects it may have on the occupants of such a space ship you may end up lost somewhere maybe even in another dimension
Wouldn't getting lost in a other dimension be unlikely tho? and btw the occupants would remain
uneffected.
@@Aaro4ify depends on the acceleration/deaccelaration rates , should be something about a year for both at 1g to reach c to not crush the crew.. also, light in front of the ship is going to blueshift into hard radiation, killing anyone inside at a certain speed or length of the trip ☢
@@madwlad799 warp drives would have no acceleration and deceleration it would be instantaneous the occupants in the spaceship wouldn't experience any outside influences or any g forces.
We should travel at the speed of thought.
Not the speed of my thought. We'll never get anywhere!
Amazing!
Hi from Spain
This is really cool 🆒 but I don’t know if this will ever be possible in this universe
You don’t need ‘tachyons’ or any other theoretical virtual particles- just the proton and the electron -
Specifically electrically charged, fermionic tachyons and anti-tachyons, fluctuating as virtual particles in the quantum vacuum (QV) are highly controversial, the reason for the controversy is there is good reason that these are considered speculative theoretical particles that’s because a section of the physics community already knows or at least very strongly suspect that they can’t exist, i’m not going to divulge how I know however they would be right.
Time is NOT and cannot be granular - the apparent ‘quantisation’ observed in quantum mechanics is a fundamental miscomprehension of the true nature of the atom specifically electrons-
This all goes back to Maxwell’s original field equations in fact his third derivation of those equations where a quite subtle but very specific mistake was made-
Time cannot be granular because fundamentally time doesn’t actually exist- this is why physics has yet to actually create a definition for time in physical terms rather it conflates time with space relativity being yet another dead end-
It’s possible to create models of things that work about 80 or 90% of the time or even 99% of the time and then in special instances no longer hold true it only takes a fraction of a percentage of failure for an entirely new theory to replace an old one but that isn’t how physics work and we both know physicists cling to old ideas like sinking rafts in an ocean of sharks the sharks represent no funding and or ostracisation by the physics community-
In any event I digress..
If you’d like to know more reply to this comment and I will see if we can communicate privately-
I’m sorry to break it to you but tachyons don’t exist outside of theory there are plenty of things that go faster than light in a vacuum but tachyons as a particle model simply don’t exist--
Also one last bombshell to set your mind racing
Prehaps a better question to answer than basing propulsion on the concept of theoretical particles would be to look at an existing particle that ‘travels’ AT the speed of light that is the electron a.k.a. the photon- and ask the question, what is the true nature of the electron!
Oh boy! Yet another history lesson.
