Yes being a seasoned vet at 16 sounds unlikely, but you know, sometimes. Not sure if crediting her hard work takes away from her otherworldlyness or if crediting her otherworldlyness takes away from her hard work. Doesn't matter. Being elite at every single thing a singer can do by the time you are 16 can't really be properly explained or credited anyway. She'll get hers either way certainly. Incredible studio version as we knew it would be. Is anything difficult for her anymore? If not does she continue to get much better? They made it so grand. That rolling thunder style build up was epic. Just going to go ahead and say it, she has versatility, control and a beautiful voice over everyone. And at 13 for some reason people felt the need to defend Whitney from a kid that loves her, by pointing out how much easier the power is for Whitney, and now we are seeing easy power on top of the rest. This is an elite master class performance by sixteen year old, Angelina Jordan. IMO, her recent performances have conclusively proven that she is certainly ready to fill arenas.
At her last concert on July 10th 2022, when Angelina told why she sings this song and dedicated it to her grandmother Mery Zamani, I understand this song completely differently. Before it was a beautiful song sung great, now it touches my heart every time. I'm absolutely certain that this video and the Elvis cover was recorded at the same time and in the same venue, well before Angelina's trip to Norway (Angelina did a TV performance there with two songs and 3 sold out concerts, there are many YT videos of it, info for the people who didn't know it yet) . Both high-end produced videos were produced by Angelina's own label. 💯 *AJ* 💯

@@ClandOp Valentine was recorded in February. In This video she is wearing the same blue dress she wore on stage in Norway, so I doubt these three videos were done at the same time, but who knows?
During her latest concert, she dedicated this song to her recovering grandmother who could not attend the concerts due to it. It gives the song a very strong and personal emotional context. She comes in soft, gentle en delicate and turns to power and conviction to deliver this emotional personal message. She is so good at giving songs a new meaning with her arrangement and the emotions she conveys and her storytelling. Her art has grown tremendously from age 7 till now 16. And she still only 16. It means we can expect another similar jump before her voice fully matures. That will bring her to new levels of amazingness which I cannot imagine. So in the mean while I am just going to enjoy the heck out of all performances released in the past and present :-)

AJ's performance is absolutely stellar. She has to belt near the top of her range, and she handles the key change perfectly. Very little vocal strain or pressure. Her riffs during the coda are from another planet -- and the way she sustains fry and vibrato and breathiness throughout her runs is her signature: easily the best I've every encountered. This is what happens when you bring a classic jazz mentality to pop.
Her vocal growth is an absolute testament to a great, great artist.....this at 16...;...keeps surprising you in the best way....she is really blossoming musically in this transition toward adulthood..the voice gets richer and stronger and just keeps developing. The color and richness and style to her vocals are all becoming unbelievably fantastic. And the emotion she conveys and then stirs up in this listener is beyond compare. I know you are very knowledgeable about music and I have a question do you think by giving a child a toy microphone at 1 1/2 years old influenced where she’s at today? Most children don’t have toy microphones in their toy box. How Is it possible for parents or grandmother to realize at age 1 or 2 their child has talent. Most people forget that grandma filmed Angelina at 18 months old singing along with Whitney with a microphone in her hand. I know by filming Angelina so much grandma did contribute to the fact that by 7 when she audition for Norway got talent there was very little or no nervousness. I don’t know there’s so much about Angelina that is mind boggling.

I think it was intentional I seem to remember in the Live version at first concert the backup singers did the same thing at that part it is subtle but swore I heard it.
