So informative! I didn’t realize that sleepwalking isn’t just walking in your sleep but could be other behaviors too like sitting up in bed or repetitive behaviors while asleep. And that it’s not just random, there are things that can make it more likely.
My goodness this is so serious, I have never know anyone who had this problem themselves or with their children! I can see how horrifying this can be for a parent! But this video explains it so well!
Im amazed at how much i didnt know about sleep walking... when 2 of my daughters were young children they both had issues with sleep walking. I actually had one child that had walked out of the house in the middle of the night. My neighbor from a block away called me to let me know she was at their house and was still asleep. I was no so afraid in my life. Its scary when one of your children isnt in bed asleep when they should be. Thank God i got the call and we went and picked her up and got her back home safe. After some additions to the locks on the doors she never left the house while sleep walking again. Both daughters outgrew it by the time they were 12.
....i used to sleepwalk when i was younger...now grown i think im still doing it without realizing it,until other people tell me,like my grandmother told me when i was younger.
I started roommating with friends and they told I do it every night. No memory of it all happening. I have turned on the stove and took off into the streets in my sleep. I even fought someone in my sleep but I don’t remember. I don’t smoke drink nor do drugs. I do suffer from POTS/dysautonomia though.
I had no idea just how bad mine had got until my bf started spending the night. I’ve done some really dangerous stuff, get extremely violent (thankfully the bf is much bigger than me and can handle me), some funny things too but it’s the creepy side that bothers me the most. I don’t know how he does it, it’s like his own live horror story 😅
Wow!!! This was such an excellent and informative video! Thanks for bringing in a sleep expert! Thanks for bringing up the dangers! My daughter had to apply high up locks and door alarms to try and keep the kids from sleepwalking outside as they live in the northern part of South Dakota and sleepwalking out in the cold can be especially dangerous!
I was sleepwalking last night, and I dropped to my knees. Hit the hardwood floor. What can we do to prevent this? I can’t keep living like this… I only have coffee in the am. And I excersize almost every day. It’s getting worse
I enjoy and appreciate your videos about mattresses. They’ve helped me with choosing my kids mattresses. Now I’m in desperate need of one just can’t afford a good one. Considering my body and my husbands too. Thank you for the help
Mine has got out of hand. Multiple times nightly. It’s not just myself who is suffering, in fact I can confidently say my partner has the short end of the stick here. I’m oblivious but he wakes every time I move just in case I need settled again. I feel horrible for him 😢
@@htmoh8115 it’s only gotten progressively worse since 2021. I sat up last night, shouted ‘babe’ multiple times until he answered me and then handed him my pillow and asked him to ‘check it for soap’ 🤦♀️. Woke him multiple times with violently ‘twitching’ too. I just cannot behave. No clue what to do about it either. My doc is trying an increase in meds so I’m hoping it’ll help but if not I’ll probably have to wait on a sleep study. I can’t remember the most of it, or even what I was dreaming about, but my bf says I’m acting like I’m scared a lot of the time and trying to get away from something.
My dad died recently and it's brought back alot of trauma that him & my stepmom did to me. (THEY LEFT ME TO DIE OF A BOWEL OBSTRUCTION AND never once visited me in the hospital for 13 days! I've started sleep walking recently
@@htmoh8115 no I havent walked in my sleep since I got rid of "the box". There was a box I got out of my dads house, full of family moments that was just sitting there & I COULDNT go through it because I knew it would trigger me. My maintainable man kept telling me that Id have to face it sooner or later. I took it out back and ceremoniously set it on fire. I havet walked in my sleep since
Ok someone plz answer. I have ended up in my bed without remembering moving there , I didn’t fall. The other day I was sleeping on the bed and then ended up on the floor with my pillow and blanket but I don’t remember getting up at all. So is that sleepwalking
my friends tell me that i just sit up in my bed, stare at them and tell them im some guy from the 80’s and killed someone when i sleepwalk.. should i be concerned
I sleepwalk, mostly to the fridge and back. With a brand new mattress from sleepopolis I'm sure I would sleep the whole night through (without snacking). Fingers crossed
I need help my 14 year old son has a serious sleepwalking problem he went missing ended up in a man’s car once he woke up the guy dropped him off I’m scared and don’t understand it.
I don't typically walk it is usually turning over or just falling off of the bed as I am dreaming and I suddenly wake up. I have a large piece of foam rubber on the floor next to my bed. So far I have not been hurt other than embarrassed.
The youtube video titled: Coors Big Game Commercial of Your Dreams: Dream Study, it sends dreams to a person while they sleep. If someone has ptsd, can they be trapped in a dream in their mind, while they sleep walk? Can someone send them a positive dream?

Very helpful and educational!
It’s the switch from Theta brainwaves to Delta. I can’t believe this wasn’t addressed!

I sleepwalked as a kid and now 2 out of 3 of my boys have sleepwalked- it's pretty wild
sleepwalking occurs in my house, so this video hit close to home for us!

Does it still happen? Do you have regular nightmares?

Thanks for the tips and help. My daughter was a sleep walker when she was little but as she got older she stopped.
So no solutions or what causes it?
A friend wakes in the middle of the night and starts talking. Has no memory of it the next day.
