I’m glad you guys didn’t get injured. Stuff like this happens, just chalk it up to learning experience. Everybody makes mistakes. I hope you get it back in smoothly. Maybe get a couple more friends to help install it
Oh Snap!!!! I feel your pain. Think of it this way, Its part of a journey in becoming a master mechanic. I also need to thank you, will be pulling out a damaged engine off a Mini S tomorrow and I know my floor is a little uneven so, I am buying some plywood to have a smoother surface to roll the hoist under. In spite of this mayor F* up, you are pretty amazing. If you ever visit Germany the mecca of automotive awesomeness, I will very happily lend you my S54B32 Swapped E30 to see you rip around the Nürburgring with a big smile around your face!!!
Toes LoL i was moving a dumb automatic transmission after i manual swapped one of my cars and my fingers slipped cought the end of my shoe (no hard toe shoe) felt my to wet and fluid on the shoe... yeap busted my toe nail open sucked for the next few weeks

Disposable gloves makes this kind of work so much more enjoyable.
My driveway is very similar i usually chuck down some big pieces of ply so it rolls easier. Should give it a try if you got some laying around
