I love how this is such a talented band, and yet the quality seems like they were just like "Screw it, lets just have fun." Still one of the best queen covers out there
Nice cover...and the meows were absolutely brilliant! Bridget's bass solo was sick and Rachael is one of the most stunning women ever....her 'stache has grown in quite nicely!
The trumpet replacement on the guitar solo. This cover makes me so happy, because of how much fun they had with it, and how much of themselves they put into it
WOW!!! We just saw LSD two days ago at Sonoma State and even though Bridget talked about their traditional Halloween covers she gave no hint that they were going to do this song; what an amazing surprise! After the show, on the way to the car I remarked that Rachel had an amazing range and could probably sing in any style she wanted to - blues, jazz, rock, folk - and excel at it. Never would I have guessed that covering Queen might be on that list. Freddie Mercury had one of the most incredible voices in rock with a range that just couldn't be matched. Trying to cover a Queen song is very ambitious and yet Rachel makes it seem effortless - a real testament to her talent.
Can’t believe such video is made from almost 5 years ago...Lake Street Dive is surely talented and entertaining and yet manage to nail a a cover of a masterpiece in a 6 mins video. Bravo!
Bohemian Rhapsody - The Meow Mix. BRILLIANT! That Romanov Chick really kills it on lead Bass! Killer May Meowing Mike! Always a pleasure. Thank you all!
This band has so much talent. I wonder how many takes it took to get through this live as they did. 332 thumbs down were probably expecting a Queen sound, well those vocals sounded pretty Queen-like to me!
I just saw this video now in 2018 after a friend suggested it. He said, "Did they make this just for Coombes(me)?" I think it's because I've been known to meow the keyboard solo in the middle of "Take on Me". Anyhoo, I love you people and I love this performance.
Oh my god oh my god oh my GAWD!!!! My headphones where not intimate enough for this. I basically needed this inside of me, it was incredible. Keep doing what your doing don't stop, because this was just . . . WOW!
Hey Lake Street Dive: What you did is a very unique nice, professionell and funny persiflage, what's more: its a musical happening and paying hommage to Freddie Mercury. Nevertheless with a good portion of humor for the band while doing. an a good portion of admiration for Queen itself. Keep on looking apart mainstream, stay individual. Love it!
Every once in awhile I have to pop back to this for entertainment and a one of kind voice, makes the day.
Lisie to their NPR Tiny Desk Concert on TH-cam!!! They have 2
How have I not found this until just now? I feel I've been depriving myself of joy for the last 5 years
Samez😭😭
You and i both. Just discovered it today
I am even later than everyone. Where the heck have I been?
You got here years before me… Wow… First time hearing this gem. 💎
And 3 years ahead of me. Lol
I love how this is such a talented band, and yet the quality seems like they were just like "Screw it, lets just have fun." Still one of the best queen covers out there
"lets just have fun" is basically the definition of rock.
And it IS fun, isn't it?
And the Freddie mustache is just over the top funny.
I LOVE this band. They always seem to be having fun.
Nice cover...and the meows were absolutely brilliant! Bridget's bass solo was sick and Rachael is one of the most stunning women ever....her 'stache has grown in quite nicely!
I wish I'd had this much fun in the bands I played with !
The trumpet replacement on the guitar solo.
This cover makes me so happy, because of how much fun they had with it, and how much of themselves they put into it
Brilliant group, stunning lead, and perhaps the healthiest and creative senses of humor ever. Delightful stuff!
I wasn't convinced this song could work without a piano, but that meowing from Mike Calabrese sure put up an argument.
HAHAHA
One of the ingredients to your band's greatness is how much FUN you have making music. Mamma Mia this is good.
best Queen cover, the best Queen presentation and execution... U guys are incredible. Love the arrangement, & Meow solo...
Best cover ever - and my grey cat, Goldie, says it really speaks to her.
I love you guys! Amazing!
WOW!!!

They've done it again! Superb! Looove the bass "solo". Love it all, in fact. Thanks and happy HalloQueen right back.
Marinus Vesseur Hello all queens 2020!!!!
This is awesome. Needs WAY more views (and the laughs to accompany it, too). Great job Lake Street Dive.
I think Freddie would be happy with this cover especially the blend of instruments and voices, very unique.

I literally just found out about this band and I’m already in love!!!
This song, as of October 31st 2015, is officially forty years old. It hasn't aged a day.
+TheStockwell R.I.P. John Peel.
+Nautilus1972 . . . and Kenny "I'll Play This Song 14 Times in Two Days" Everett. Truly, there were giants in those days . . .! :)
Rachael as Freddie Mercury was the last thing I was expecting today - stellar everybody !!
Amazing...it gets better every time I watch it!!
Cat meows by Mike automatically make this the best version on the Internet.
Can’t believe such video is made from almost 5 years ago...Lake Street Dive is surely talented and entertaining and yet manage to nail a a cover of a masterpiece in a 6 mins video. Bravo!
Simply beautiful. Thank you.
Freddie would love this 👏

Was not expecting this from the group. Got to admit they're getting really together. Watchin Rachael Price for a few years. Mucho talent inside her.
This is fantastic.
How did I forget that the best part of Halloween was your annual video? This was epic!
I am truly amazed by how amazing this. I'm almost in tears, which is something that hasn't happened for a long time.
Bohemian Rhapsody - The Meow Mix. BRILLIANT! That Romanov Chick really kills it on lead Bass! Killer May Meowing Mike! Always a pleasure. Thank you all!
I love Lake Street Dive like a love breathing and I love Queen just the same. This is fucking awesome.

Eesh. This is one of the worst Queen covers I've ever heard.
You mean except for Adam lambert -- right? ;o)
Meow game?
Silenced Lemon second best. The Muppets will always be the best cover of this song.
This band has so much talent. I wonder how many takes it took to get through this live as they did. 332 thumbs down were probably expecting a Queen sound, well those vocals sounded pretty Queen-like to me!
OMG! I LOVE you guys!! Can ANYBODY TELL ME WHY I WAITED SO LONG to listen to this one??????? LOL, out of the park amazing!!!!
That bass player is out of this world and damn that vocalist gives me chills.
Freddie must be proud. Great voice, nice work. Thank's.

So Good! Best one yet!
Great cover, and so much fun! Also liked the nod to "Wynne"s World", head banging in the Gremlin scene.
I have to say, best guitar cat solo I have ever heard. Well done by all, thank you for sharing.
I just saw this video now in 2018 after a friend suggested it. He said, "Did they make this just for Coombes(me)?" I think it's because I've been known to meow the keyboard solo in the middle of "Take on Me". Anyhoo, I love you people and I love this performance.

This just made my morning.
Love the cats 🐱🐱🐱🐱. And the fantastic base playing. Kudos!
This band just keeps getting better. Nice video, particularly the transition from backlit closeup.
Love it!
I think this is the coolest music video ever made. Even Freddy would be impressed. Fantastic!
Love every song you make...
...Rachael with her voice & that 'mustache' ... Freddie woulda been pleased ...
My favorite cover of all time!
Love love love their arrangements, it's a like a familiar new song!
Thousands of copies, few succeed. This one added something to the original, excellent.
That bass solo at 4:40! DAMN THAT WAS GREAT
