Almost everything you do has some consequence, and you're never forced to use Thinner or Paint to solve problems that you don't want to (except in the tutorial). You can use paint and thinner paths to determine your fate in choices you make. I’d say be careful of what choices you make, those said choices may be permanent forever. Mickey Meets Oswald (the very first character before Mickey and supposedly the older step brother) while meeting other characters from Mickey’s past.
I like Epic Mickey 2, but holy sh**, the Wii U version is riddled with performance issues, talk about the biggest and most epic blunder on the part of Disney forcing Heavy Iron Studios to rush the Wii U port to release it as a launch title for Nintendo's then upcoming new system, as if closing down Junction Point when the game didn't sell wasn't bad enough.
