Nice review once again. Over the last week I've been charging my Greenworks 60v 5ah batteries with the new and small Bluetti EB3A. It's only a 268wh battery but is LiFePO4 and the inverter is 600w with surge to 1200w. The EB3A is on sale now for $209. I'll go out to mow the lawn, put the battery charger on the EB3A (with a BougeRV 200w panel), and charge away. :)

Great video. No seriously, I enjoy them.
My recommendation is to split this video up into parts, or chapters with very detailed descriptions.
Also, I purchased the river mini. That can’t charge the ego rapid charger because of output wattage. You may want to follow up with watching or figuring out output. Or… real difference between series and parallel.

This was an informative video. The demonstration of shading in series connected panels was excellent. One important safety consideration is that DC voltage > 50 VDC can be lethal. ☠️. Therefore since the input series voltage is 100 VDC, care must be exercised to avoid electric shock at this voltage. A mention of solar controllers (MPPT vs PWM) would be useful.
Mixing dissimilar panels with different specs is not a good practice. Battery chemistry also presents a afety consideration. “Thermal Run Away” is a phenomena of some battery chemistries (there are many). Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry (abbreviated as “LFP” or “LiFPo” … the F come from the periodic table “Fe” which is Latin for Iron) is not subject to Thermal Run Away and a fire 🔥 can be extinguished with water. Different Echo Flow units use different chemistries.
Thanks for a very interesting presentation. 😎👍

Well, the sun is free, but the devices and equipment needed to harness it isn't. You'd have to do a cost analysis of your usage to see how long it will take you to break even. Then, everything will be free. But of course, it isn't specifically about the money. For most people, it's more about not using grid electricity all the time.

I have a small collection of Rivers which I like because I place them where I use them. I recently added the OD Delta and I love it. I definitely want a Delta Max 2000 because It would run just about everything in here. I’ve been charging them solely on solar as i use them around the house to familiarize myself with them. I use the portable 160w panels because i got them on sale and because I don’t fully understand the voltage and wiring. So I’ve been cautious. Anyway, I love using them! I run my WiFi, computer, smart tv and other things in here 100% on rivers that I charge on solar. I love the pass through power feature so often I’m recharging the battery as well as using the equipment I have plugged in. I want to wire two 160s together in parallel to power my Delta 1300 and see how long I can run my fridge on it like that. It runs the fridge without recharging for almost 24 hours. In cooler weather I’m sure it would run much longer which is why I want to see how it does running as pass through power on solar in the day. Thanks for the great explanation as always!! I really appreciate your teaching style.

I understand the open circuit voltage piece, but if I have four 200w panels that are under 100v ocv, would that be dangerous because the total is 800w which is the max wattage for the delta max? I'm wondering if I should get four 180w panels instead just to be safe. Do you think that matters being at max wattage even though you're under the ocv? Thanks!

If used just for grid going down, how long once charged fully can it last with zero voltage coming in? Already using a UPS for electronics.
Thinking maybe getting the max now and later getting some panels, top off with grid power to start.
Life of charge & health of internal battery?
    Thanks for your excellent video…

    • @TechMadeEzy

      Hi Dan thanks
If the ac inverter is on that will drain if it’s just sitting on. DC has a minimal drain. Ups feature has a delay, not good for sensitive electronics if you want that instant but it comes close. Max is nice because it’s expandable 👍🏼

Hi, great video. I am just researching which package to put together for powering our home office from a balcony system. I was looking at the delta max 2 with the 2 400watt rigid panels on our south facing balcony. After your video I checked the voltage rating of the delta 2 max. The ecoflow website states 60v max for solar input. The panels exceed this rating. Am I reading this wrong as it has 2 solar inputs? Would I have to connect each panel into separate inputs? The Delta 2 states 100v max but would really like the extra capacity of the max. Thanks Rich.

Wish I can do something like this example now in my area in Texas. But don't have a tool batteries or a powerful battery station that will accept higher watt input. Also I know it will be a very expensive move if I went with a goal zero yeti 6,000x plus with the 4.2kw extra batteries. Plus some of the Goal zeros as the ability to do type c charging input. Also with my setup I only have allpowers 372Wh and a few power banks and also with a solar panel of 100watt 17v. But also I can use my 20USB charging station to be able to charge more devices like my power banks. But anyway still wish I have more and have the ability to do more, good luck and have fun. Plus this is still fun to try to do on accessing solar during a power outage. But it will be hard for me to try to cut grid power cost with my setup. Because, it's a small setup and only meant to charge small devices at a time.

You mean to tell me you can charge rechargeable batteries using the sun 🤣😂🤣😂. Unheard of lol. Someone trying to make some money off of old news

Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry (abbreviated as “LFP”, “LiFPo”, or LiFePO4… the F come from the periodic table “Fe” which is Latin for Iron, likewise LI is the Periodic Table abbreviation for Lithium, and PO4 is the chemical abbreviation for the Phosphate compound) is not subject to Thermal Run Away and a fire 🔥 can be extinguished with water. Different Echo Flow units use different chemistries.
Thanks for a very interesting presentation. 😎👍
