I’ve been to concerts and conferences in Birmingham and the NEC, we need this investment into Birmingham for the club and the people. It’s never been easy to get to and from St. Andrews (been doing it since 1968) even worse when the weather has been terrible; that’s why we are called diehard fans!! Can’t wait for it to all happen!! Great conversation! 🏴🙏🏼✝️🇬🇧 KRO
Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. This project will benefit the people of Birmingham as a whole and pump billions into the economy. I'm sure the UK Government will be keen to see this project started and competed. KRO!
Hi Matt and Gary. This is amazing news. I am so grateful that we now have owners that a few years ago I could only dream about. It is also going to be so positive for the area too. Finger's crossed for a win tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

So far the new government and West Mids/Manc mayors are making good noises about HS2 - hopefully something next to HS2 will be get a bit of help. This week I heard about £8bn for the Bakerloo line extension, so money is available for London. Hopefully going forward we can be less London centric (London is important, so I know they are treated differently). For me Landor and Garrison Street seem to be the obvious way in/out for the new complex (as it's mainly industrial so easier to move businesses on rather than people/houses).
Thank you very much for your comment Steve which is greatly appreciated. Matt made the point in the podcast that London seems to get priority however this is an opportunity for the new Government to get behind a big project in the second city! KRO!

@BCFCRoyalBlue we are currently the thought leaders of our city, and while the commercial gains are their ultimate target, Knighthead realise that they need our support to push those plans through, including sympathetic pricing, something which seems to have not been the case from that other lot, as evidenced by their 'dynamic pricing' policy for tickets. A long way to go yet, hurdles to overcome, but TW knows this and winning hearts and minds of the population is an easy way to influence pinhead politicians decision making Anyway, let's focus on the short term issue, winning games !!! This is the first I have heard of this, maybe I am late to the party. I will certainly read up and also try to find out more information 😆 Thanks for commenting, KRO! :)
@BCFCRoyalBlue word is that the frame is being kept but a full refurbishment, including taking away the old screen and filling in the corner to the GM stand - if so another major project in the close season, but I'm a little concerned that it won't be complete in time for the new season and my ST seat in the main stand unavailable short term - have asked my OSC rep to raise it with the club
Im not sure you know that Knighthead Capital's hedge fund has basically imploded over the past year. It's down 68%. It's extremely hard to raise money after that. They haven't got the money for this project so they will have to raise it. That's the massive caveat I would put on this project. Having said that its also worth noting that Birmingham City is owned by Knighthead Annuity Company in the Cayman Islands. There is limited scope for an annuity company to invest in this type of project ....maybe 5-10% of their portfolio. They have to be mainly in bonds. The regulators are unhappy in the US with people using annuity companies for this type of investment (777 debacle Everton being an example) and are looking to clamp down. What happens in the US will follow in Cayman. I hope this helps in understanding Wagner's position.
Hi Guys, good podcast. Have you thought of doing a joint podcast say 3 times a season, with the two guys from "Keep Right On"? Could be a good format. Cheers 👍

Please push for Adderley Park Station revamp. I have mentioned this station is prime location for the new stadium. Four minutes from New Station and connects to Birmingham International and beyond. I use this station regularly and it's pretty awful and has no facilities for disabled users. Currently only one train an hour from the city centre. Any improvements would be a massive plus.
Thank you for your comment Rose which is greatly appreciated. I’m sure consideration of Adderley Park station will be an important part of the development. KRO!

That’s why you are not a successful property developer 😂 (I don’t know you so only assuming). There has to be a long term return for Wagner or he wouldn’t be doing it. Regenerating an area is the only way to do that. The NEC won’t provide a return.

City were in a similar position to us, we are the new ‘Noisy Neighbours’! KRO!
The problem with the council it's anti blues and pro villa, it's been like that for many years, if we are getting this project going forward we probably have to fund all the money, the council will take the rent and the rates etc with little input, would love it to happen, KRO
Thanks for commenting Steven, greatly appreciated :) According to the political editor at Birmingham Live Richard Parker is really keen to see how he can help as a big part of his job is attracting investment into the city. Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. It will definitely be a good thing for the City and as you point out it would be great to have two Premier League teams. KRO!
i think it's important to note tho. Blues as we've know ii will be lost - at least to a point. I do't want to be a downer on this but let's be real, the West Ham, Mam City model isn't going to latch onto Blues history so well. Having said that, Brighton for example it seems to have worked for, but if we imagine "St Andrews" in 10 years, if Knighthead do what they want to, it won't be anything like the St Andews we 've known. I'm not trying to be negative here - i appreciate your conversation about this so wanted to make a point, its really exciting times at Blues! but i think worth talking about, as fans we make Blues what it is, what it has been and what it will be, and we should fight to retain that regardless of Billiionaires,... KRO! great pod keep up the good work
Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. Times are definitely changing but as you point out it is important for Blues to ensure that they make the games and whatever the future holds accessible to the fans. I’m sure Tom Wagner and Knighthead are aware of this but only time will tell I suppose. KRO!
As an American that has followed the sport in the UK since 2008. Blues absolutely should not build a new stadium. Nothing is guaranteed and last thing you would want is things to fall apart and you are sitting with a massive stadium in lower leagues. Aka MK Dons. St Andrews is history. Would make me sick if they knocked it down. Honestly. One thing to add. American owners will ask for a massive new stadium and in 30 years they will want another one. Seen it time after time in the states. And there teams don’t get relegated.
@@Rorztfns 100% Blues are winning the title this season. I hope Wrexham can finish behind them. Big Brother and Little Brother of the “Evil Empire” of English Football going up. Nothing would be better.
the only problem I can see in this project getting off the ground is the labour government and their anti business way of thinking along with the tax grabs we are about to see
Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. There are bound to be many issues with a project of this scale however the Government must see the benefit of this to the UK economy. They may provide stumbling blocks but I'm sure they will get behind it. KRO!
So the chicken or the egg? What will arrive first Blues playing in our new ground or playing in the Champions League? 🤔😆🤣🤣🤣 All jokes aside and you've spoken about timelines in previous podcasts. What difference do you think this will make in terms of timelines? KRO 💙
Haha! Great first question Richard 😉 I think if anything these conversations will excel it. Wagner doesn't strike me as a man that wants to mess or hang around and the fact he is lobbying and having these conversations means he wants this to move quick, KRO! :)
@BCFCRoyalBlue I really hope that all the red tape and bureaucracy can be sorted/lifted and going by what we know and have seen so far, Tom Wagner and Knighthead know how to get things done and deliver. Imagine it happens at the same time. Playing in our brand new home and in our inaugural season also playing in the Champions League. They best get it all sorted out quickly 🤣🤣 Birmingham definitely needs and deserves this level of investment and Blues fans deserve to be one of the many groups of people that will benefit from such an amazing sports, entertainment and leisure hub.
Thank you very much for your comment Michael which is greatly appreciated. KRO!
Mk dons ent going no where thou blues are! Massive difference
All jokes aside and you've spoken about timelines in previous podcasts. What difference do you think this will make in terms of timelines?

Haha! Great first question Richard 😉
I think if anything these conversations will excel it.
They best get it all sorted out quickly 🤣🤣
Birmingham definitely needs and deserves this level of investment and Blues fans deserve to be one of the many groups of people that will benefit from such an amazing sports, entertainment and leisure hub.
