Dr. B understands this like few doctors out there do. In fact many have no idea it's even a real thing. A doctor at the ER didn't believe I was going through what I was going through 15 days into a Xanax withdrawal. I was just trying to get a psych bed so I wouldn't hurt myself, they couldn't even do that for me. They said I had to be homicidal not suicidal to get a bed at that moment. I had to endure 6 months straight of pure torture and torments. Thankfully I had family watching me around the clock for that time, or I would have ended it when I had the chance.
You can make it ! I know you can . I was a severe case . I did medicinal mushrooms, particularly the lions mane and I got way better . Take care and people do care .
What are the dangers of being on a taper schedule that is constantly being interrupted with days and at one point weeks of forced withdrawal from high dose benzos because the pharmacists just don’t care and the DEA is scarier than malpractice?
Thank you for speaking out for benzo recovery! I tapered for 1.5 years over 2 years ago. I still have waves now and then. Cutting sugar and getting exercise every day reduces that restless feeling.
Oh yes. I was on them for a few years and tapered off went back on etc because I had withdrawal well after for months and months. It was ridiculous and I told my new doctor what was happening and she simply turned her back on the subject. I had to deal with it myself. I feel she doesn't understand that corner of being a doctor but that's ok. Anyway being that I had lost a parent to suicide many years ago it put me at a greater risk of having the ideations which I did because the anxiety and irritability, inability to sleep etc were so intense. I wish there were more doctors that understood this thank you sir.
I no longer take my Ativan after being on it for twenty years not by choice but because of the medical shortage. I weaned myself very slowly and then stopped taking it. In the beginning, I was more anxious. I had a headache for over a month, but it was bearable. I only take it during episodes of my cyclic vomiting syndrome since it is needed to abort an episode. If you are reading this, know that the universe loves you and to remover you are not alone. You got this. Sending love and light.
I know this kinda sounds silly to say. But as a 5 year xanax user (prescribed) I looked up xanax withdrawal and got instantly anxious listening to people BUT WHEN I HEARD YOUR SWEET CALMING MUSIC IN BACKGROUND while listening to you. It helped me more. If that makes any type of sense. Thank you ❤😊
Thank you spot on... Feel like your out of your body like a long delusion... Xanax withdrawal is serious i had a very violent grandmal seizure trying to withdrawal myself without help thanks to my psychiatrist i now have a care plan and a slow taper i pray 6 months from now i am free from suboxone and benzo dependency
It takes time for your brain to heal. I am going into year 4 of protracted withdrawl, and I am a lot better, but still lingering symptoms...I still have hope, and you should too. ❤❤
The symptoms you’re describing for myself are they earlier onset with symptoms or just medication symptoms when I was taking benzodiazepine within public the first 10 years on it 15 years I’ve been taking it for 30 years finally decided well. I’ve been probably winning all since the beginning, but seriously last two years Side effects withdrawal symptoms every every single one I’m going through?
I have felt this with opiate withdrawal. I never could explain it. That feeling in your stomach. Thank goodness it only lasted a few days! It’s heartbreaking to hear that some of you have had it for years! 🤯 I can’t imagine.
This is where im at after i was on clonazapam 6mg for about 10 years. 6 years later ive had these symptoms. Im grateful i finally found a taper from a doctor but it took 6 years to finally get money to get the right doctor.
I was told my symptoms were restless leg syndrome & the SSRI didn't give me "brain zaps" - the Dr told me I made them up. I found a Dr that was willing to titre me down from Effexor. It took 4 years to get off of it. In the end I had to open the capsule & count out the little balls. I STILL get brain zaps here or there & was told they will always be with me 😢
Is it true that clonapin is the hardest to get off of? It's wonderful that they know that it's bad to use long-term but that's too bad. They had me on a 20 years already maybe more. 😢
This is what I fear.. lingering issues way after I'm off it. Was abruptly cut from 4mg of klonopin a day to 1mg. Ended up in the hospital for a couple days. Currently at 1.75. Took a year to get to this dose. Its hell
@@masonguritz6758 I just subscibed. If you ever need someone to talk to, please reach out. @@MrNate05 sounds familiar. Not going to send some sentimental platitude. other than to say it's fucked up man.. but I'm going through it too so atleast you're not alone.
I’m almost 2 years out I’ve had akathisia now 14 fucking years only to get worse. I did get 9 years of relief from benzo then they ctd me in 2018 when that law came into play and new warning. I’ve tried to kms several times now it’s so bad.
Praying and changing your thought process helps and exercises help I'm currently in the withdrawal stage I pray more I had to give it to God I couldn't do it by myself The symptoms are real but I noticed changing my thought process helps
Some pts never come off, why take an 80 year old off whose life expectancy is less than six years? There’s already significant Nuero decline, and withdrawals can kill them. If they have been on then decades, the risk of lethal withdrawals needs to be weighed against marginal gains at best in the elderly or chronically Ill patients.
Look up Ashton method. And see if she can do a slow taper. I hate these doctors. I can’t believe they’re ruining our lives like this. I refuse to give up. I rather die than take one of those drugs again.

So proud of you. The struggle is so real.
So true. Why I can’t come off.
And me!! Dr b is spot on about this, imo is the worst withdrawal anyone can go through!
Yes, it is!!

No psychiatrists understand benzos withdrawals!!! I don't understand y!! Thanks so much Dr for understanding Benzos withdrawal! Means a lot ..❤

The overwhelming over-stimulation of the brain is exhausting and unrelenting.
yup, addicted and withdrawals for 30 years now, I know exactly what he is talking about, I will probably never be normal or calm
At least you have that awareness. I feel your pain.
