    The sexual tension is palpable. Top notch content as always though. I'm glad to see your channel growing recently. I love the concept aspects of your videos. Is it possible you would alternate between concepts and actual techniques in the future?

    • @TravisStevensgrappling
      @TravisStevensgrappling  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, of course, it is possible. We are going to try to get up to two videos a week where there is one of each going out each week.

    I’m so happy to see Travis keeping up with his channel! I’m looking to buy a new gi (all of mine are black because I come from bjj and I just found out I can only compete in Judo with white or blue gis) so any recommendation for a good gi for judo would be much appreciated!

      Senseless Nonsense yeah The Fuji euro judo gis is great. I have one of them and love it. Good quality for the price. Otherwise you can go for the top which is through Hatashita Sports and get a Mizuno gi. Either way you’re well served with Fuji.

    Thanks so much, Travis. This info is absolutely awesome. I think it's especially useful for us beginners who can use these videos to get familiar with ideas even before we've learned techniques. I like the knee slide too. I've been having problems exactly as you described: I have had trouble gripping the gi lapel with the right hand because I haven't been controlling the opponent's left foot/leg/hip (and my opponent usually just moves and swats my hand away). I'll give this a shot.
    I'd really like to see that inversion pass too.

    • @TravisStevensgrappling
      @TravisStevensgrappling  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Let me know if those knee pass details help! Will try to get that video shot!.

    • @jaehwan123
      @jaehwan123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Travis.
      I tried it out during practice. It worked sometimes, but other times I forgot important details even before I got to the knee pass position--for example, I forgot to use my left hand to control his right knee and collapse/engage his leg as you did in the video. This enabled him to use his right foot to push me. Maybe I would have remembered if I had conceptualized it as my whole body against his two legs (to mentally remind me not to reach towards his body!). But I'll keep practicing and drilling!
      Looking forward to the inversion pass video!

      @TravisStevensgrappling  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad your starting to see the light. You do need to drill it and practice it a lot in order for it to become muscle memory.

    Hi Travis, great video! How do you address when people do seated guard. In this video the opponent stayed lay down. How to pass when the opponent is seated?

    These guys are the whacky partner comedy group of the bjj world. Like Will Pharrell and Marky Mark, or Gibson and the other guy in Lethal weapon.

    hi travis not related to the video but do you think tai otoshi is a risky technique in bjj

    • @TravisStevensgrappling
      @TravisStevensgrappling  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think all techniques have a degree of risk you just have to be comfortable with the level of risk your taking. I don't know how good or bad your taio is so I'm not sure how risky it is.
