Have you checked out my Mastering NOGI Takedowns Instructional on BJJFanatics.com it just got released. A lot of people were asking about so I decided to get it shot! I hope everyone can learn something from it.
Hey could you do a video on competitive variations or harai goshi for gi and no gi? that would be great and as always thank you for the awesome content
Thanks for watching the video. It is something I think I can shoot but might have to wait until after this Covid thing dies down. It's hard to find training partners right now.
I like this a lot. I believe in a street situation if it should come to that at 5:58 grabbing his bicep is more realistic because he’ll naturally grab yours right back thinking he’s evening up the position prior to you taking him down. Not too many people are going to let you grab their wrist and just let you hang on to it. I know I wouldn’t let someone I’m tussling with grab my wrist.
Travis Stevens True. No arguments here. In the end you’re setting this guy up for something he’s not expecting. Like the technique a lot. Really turns the tables on someone who thinks they got you with a powerful underhook and head position.
Can you demo these on a dummy and a person to bring home the visual? Just asking, it'd be very appreciated if you could. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Uchimata is not the safest technique applicable to street defense. Problem: 1.placement of the outside pulling hand places thrower at risk of impact injury to that extrimity. Solution: Makakomi Uchimata, places focused energy into the trunk of the attacker increasing the probability of trauma and injury to the attacker. This is of course within the realm of Street- self-defense; not sport.
Lonnie, I'm really confused by your comment. Why are you discussing Street Defense in a video going over NOGI get takedowns? Nogi is a sport done on mats with rules.
@lonnie green Grappling spots like BJJ and Judo aren't pruposed only for self defense on the streets. It gives you very good advantage when escaping a situation because you never know what will happen on the streets either where anything randomly can happen.
More of this content please. Gripping, foot work and off balancing techniques are almost no existent on TH-cam. Especially in NoGi.
I have a basic foot-sweeps for NOGI coming stay tuned just finished the edit the other day now I just need to upload!
This is what I've been waiting for! Nogi Judo from the man himself. Thanks for posting, this is good stuff!!!!!

Hey Jeff, Those are all valid point but remember there is a difference between letting someone and not being able to prevent it.

Awesome, thank you...
Should I learn judo before bjj or bjj before judo?
on the circular one, ashi guruma fits really, really well, don't you think?
Yes it can but it also leaves your leg venerable to being picked.
Loved it.
Glad you like it!
@@TravisStevensgrappling do you have a patreon?
AnyNameWillDo no but I did just start a simple membership subscription here on TH-cam!
@@TravisStevensgrappling I havent given that a try yet.
I kinda hate youtube censorship.
Dont want to give them money.
AnyNameWillDo what censorship?
Isn’t that guy the Fuji model?
Judo should has a No Gi competitive category just like BJJ. It would modernize to sport and make it more practical.
That would be awesome
That's essentially Greco Roman wrestling with the occasional submission... Sounds cool.
You are just too awesome.
Love the content you provide.
Thank you so much for that!!!

Hell yes
Smash everyone!
i wish NOGI Judo was a thing
wait is it???
Enjoying your content. Is it me or does Travis & Mat Fraser look like brothers. I'd hate to have to try and break the grip of either of them.
Who's Mat Fraser?
@@TravisStevensgrappling The cross fit guy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mat_Fraser_(athlete)
It's the hair.
Travis, the blonde guy really likes you
Why not just sit down? What’s all the insistence with judo and wrestling?
