    Welcome back everyone! Today I wanted to compare a 20w laser to a 10w laser and show the difference it makes on white tile. These are the results that I found and may be different for some of you but in my opinion, the 10w provides a much better result. I hope this helps some of you and have a great weekend! See you all soon 👋

    I love my TS2, just bought the 20w diode for it. I like the size of the TS2 and the auto focus, machine speed is really good also compared to my old D1 that I had.

    The question I have is whether the 20W one ACTUALLY has double the output of the 10W?

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it does as it uses 4 5w lasers compressed into one beam.

      @@ArtByAdrock sorry, just throwing it out there, I don't know much about laser engravers, that's why I'm watching the video, lol. It's just where my head always goes when any device doesn't do what you'd expect based on the MFR's specs. Maybe it's a scenario where 4x5 is not the same as 1x20?

    Great detail in the comparison. Thanks. Would a 10W D1 perform differently?

      I would imagine it would although I haven’t tried the d1 10w so I can’t say for sure

    I have been watching a lot of videos researching laser engravers, trying to figure out what I want and/or should buy and ran across your channel today. Great review.
    Question: why these two products?

      I wanted to compare a 10w to 20w mostly when engraving tile so I just chose these 2. If you’re looking to buy it really depends on what you plan on using it for. If it’s for cutting thicker wood, go with the Xtool 20w. If you’re looking to just engrave wood or other materials, the twotrees is fantastic and will be plenty powerful. The z axis motor on it makes focusing a lot simpler too. Hope that helps a little. If you have other questions just ask 👍🏻

      @@ArtByAdrock thanks for the reply! And very quick too! I’ve been leaning toward the XTool, but recently I have been digging into the FoxAlien. Plus it is much cheaper. Do you have any experience with any of the FoxAlien engravers?
      Thanks for your time!

      @@g-paj5430 I haven’t used a fox alien yet so I’m not sure how that would compare. Out of the others I have tested (creality, Ortur, enjoywood, atomstack) the Xtool and twotrees are my favorite and easiest to use out of the box

    Try using Rust-Oleum Cold Galvanizing Compound. I can run 4000 mm/min at 40% power and get a good black. DPI settings has a lot to do with results as well.

    Xtool 10w is amazing. It's like the best of both worlds. It's double the power of the 5,but still has the detail/dpi of the 5.😊. If you want something fun to play with, look in to engraving mirrors. I'm enjoying your last videos, thank you! 😊☕

      So question for you. I did the whole powder TIO2 and school glue and water mixture using a shot glass for the equal measurement. The water was 3 parts and 1 of the TIO2 and 1 of glue. I couldn’t get my 20w ortur to make hardly any black even when I did a material test array. Even though I shook it up really well the mixture was really watery and the power was like small and beady when I tried applying with a brush. Am I doing something wrong? How do you do your mixture? I was thinking of just doing the glue and powder by itself lol.

    so if you're using the same software and you leave the settings EXACTLY the same for each printer the xTool just comes out looking like crap each time...(well, compared to the other one) and even when you cut the power in half it still looked like crap, just lighter.... there is obviously a issue with the xTool printer .... now IDK if it's broken or anything but all the things your burned on it just came out REALLY BAD.... and I don't think it has anything to do with it being 20w...... it's just the printer doesn't make things look very good...
    ohhhh------ Have you tried UPDATING THE FIRMWARE????? That REALLY could be the issue.... like when you showed that it came out SUPER LIGHT going al in one direction but not in the other... that a problem with the software built into the laser machine itself... i.e. the FIRMWARE...so check to see if there is an update... but you have to look on the machines manual to see exactly how to do it.... and I'm not sure how savy you are with tech (I'm assuming you are pretty good with it because you run frikkin lasers and that takes a brain fo sho lol) so yea, check to see if there is an update..... if there isn't or there is but it didn't fix the problem then you REALLY SHOULD CONTACT TECH SUPPORT because it SHOULD NOT be doing that in one direction but not the other
    ----- so I just watched someone else review and they mentioned something that I don't think you had ever brought up.... there are actually 4 laser diodes that combine to make the laser 20watts (5w each obviously) maybe some of them aren't engaging when it runs in a certain direction and thats why they come out so light... I have no clue how or why this would happen but it's the only thing I can think of causing that without the settings changing......
    And I saw it comes with it's own software.... ARE you using the same software for both printers? if not then maybe you could look into LightBurn??? I just learned about it the other day and that it's a free, advanced piece of software for laser printers and it doesn't matter what printer you have it should work with both of them... maybe you could do your testing in that for both of them so you know they are getting the same exact into when doing the prints.....
    well hopefull I helped in some way 🤷‍♂and hopefully you get it all working nice n propah - see ya soon

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use lightburn so that’s not the issue. I also have the latest firmware updated on the Xtool so that’s not the problem either. It is 4 diodes combined into one to equal 20w and everything else I use it for works great so I can’t see that being the problem. There aren’t really any people showing the Xtool burning onto white tile and the few I have seen don’t mention whether they have wiped off the residual paint or not. If I don’t wipe it off it looks ok and that’s what I assume other people are showing which to me is not correct. Especially when I use the same settings as they used. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hhhmmm I only know sometimes lower settings give a better result then higher settings and sometimes higher settings give better result and I speak about welding hhmmm I'm not sure why lower settings is better in that purpose 🤔
