I read the entire Ryan’s th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan’s Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan’s Shed Plans.
As a mechanical engineer myself I find your Channel fascinating, I love it. I think you are a very talented and hard working gentleman, Thanks for letting us be part of your world👍
I loved time-lapse sequence where the sun's rays made their way across the wall as you were working. That gave a true representation of just how much time and effort goes into your work.
I really felt for you in the disappointment with the lathe. My husband purchased a lovely Myford from a local manufacturing company. It had only been used for repairs, and was in beautiful condition. It’s a joy to use, and I look forward to getting back into the workshop soon. Our milling machine was new, but we’ve never learnt how to use it! I’m looking to you to see what I can do with it. (My husband is now in care.) thanks for all your videos Kris, you’re a real inspiration! I particularly enjoy seeing you working on joinery projects - that’s where my heart is!
I like your style. As a matter of fact I think I may like your style better than mine. I really love how you aren’t just some yuppie trying to be one with nature. You are a dude who’s respectful and responsible for all your natural cohabitants. I wish more people in the states would keep green bits between fences for the wildlife to have a spot. Out of the few dozen farmers and ranchers I know, there are only three who consider it. I’m glad you are raking in the hydro jobs. You are kicking ass at life man.
Eight tons of cob and plaster that's mind blowing when you really think! about it, I guess that's a bit of labor.. Looks pretty dern good though. Just goes to show what hard work can do for you, you've got yourself a place in paradise really. You and Dot must feel very proud of what you both have accomplished its incredible really. You definitely are an inspiration to many Kris, you really are..
I don't know how I missed this series from the start but everyone I know who'd appreciate it, across the world, said they'd been watching you for ages. Guess I'm getting old then 😜 Keep up the good work.... I'm now binge watching hundreds of episodes just so I can be up to date and enjoy future ones. Fabulous job mate and love to Dot and the animals ❤️
Those drone shots are really adding to the production of your videos - they give a far greater scale of your land and the work involved. Excellent stuff!
you kill me with those quick little teaser clips of you cobbing or whatever task it is your doing on any video. i promise we DO NOT GET BORED WATCHING YOU DO THE VERY THINGS WE CAME HERE TO WATCH YOU DO. more of that would be fannnntastic
Kris, a tip for you some years ago a mate decided to build he and his wife a cob brick house not far from where I live The way he mixed his cob was he had an electric cement mixer geared to turn in reverse (so the cob wouldn't bind up into one large lump) he could make on his own 75 bricks including prep and clean up a day in under 2 hours I know you can get cement mixers that can be portable on tractors or bobcats (see Andrew Camerata's Yt channel) You could drive to your piles of clay and sand load up add chopped straw (I had a mulcher that would have done that perfectly) and then dump it on location as needed. I like the mill and you said it was in excellent condition but am cringing at you leaving it in such a damp environment for a long time even if you put Crc or RP7 or oil ON it You could have stored it in the lower work shop till the walls where cured and dry For ease why aren't you using a tressel (2 ladders and a length of board between them) you could load up the board with blobs of cob and not have to get up or down a ladder 60 times.... Please do not think I am picking Kris I have the hugest admiration for all that you do , sometimes we get myopic on the task at hand, And others looking on can see lateral ways of making our lives easier. If I can I try to offer lateral ways of doing things that may not have occurred to the person, I can't be there to help you in person I hope this is a way of contributing. Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Top work Kris! Such an amazing place you've made. Having been to visit once and been totally blown away by it, I can only imagine the satisfaction of waking up every day and living in the fruits of your own endeavours. Just brilliant! To see you quite literally take the provisions of nature and turn them into a home, workshop, small holding and inspiration to the world is nothing short of exceptional.
Hi, I would love to see a video on how you source those materials not available from your land and also equipment for your projects. From the wood, glazing and used wood and metal working machinery. Don’t worry too much about having to film around camera shy helpers. You are managing to convey the process whilst respecting the wishes of your assistant.
Always a welcome treat to see your alert on a Sunday morning here in Wisconsin, USA. Your boundless energy is an inspiration! The “ladies” of the fields are always so happy to see you that it makes me chuckle. I know you have a kind heart, you can’t fool an animal about that.
Wow Kris you just don’t disappoint. What a mammoth job. Looking so great mate ….inspiring.❤️🇦🇺 enjoying your journey. Looking forward to seeing what you’re going to create in here
Although the videos are less frequent, content and filming is getting better. Always was great but shots and fluidity are improving with each release. Bravo to Dot's drone shots and the quick stop motion of the application. Keep it up Kris and Dot, enjoying more and more each vid I see.
Outstanding work ethic , along with quality workmanship and integrity , make this channel not only a joy to watch but inspirational , what you have achieved , complete admiration towards you. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
My god that's a lot of work! So often you've shown your work in time lapse, but just watching you laboring along in real time makes one realize just how difficult and time consuming the work is to even make a small amount of progress. Wonderful to see it all coming together. Will be nice to have all the doors and windows in. One step at a time!
I couldn't be much more jealous... Land in Wales, soon to be lovely building on that land, ability to do the work yourself, and the resources to make it all possible... Soooo jealous, me!! 👍🏻👍🏻
There is nothing wrong with rejecting a piece of equipment that is not quite right or does not fulfill your needs. I have been told that I was too picky, about a particular saw. It was expensive, I had to save for it and it did not run properly. It was a huge safety issue for me and the cost to send it out for repairs/reconditioning was absolutely outrageous. It went back, yes disappointing to say the least, but having to look at it and being put off in disgust was stressful. I don't feel bad for me, but for the next person who got it!! Good choice if you are not 100% happy!! Love your videos...crack on. Thanks for sharing!! :)
Using the tractor as a shavehorse was brilliant :D Cracking job on the cob, and so exciting to see a milling machine! Real shame about the lathe, I hope you'll find a good replacement.
Really exciting times ahead by the sounds of things Kris plasma cutting machine and all the machinery you’ve acquired.... well done mate you truly deserve all the success that comes your way...let’s hope all those hydro jobs doesn’t stop you from making more vlogs....god bless you mate stay safe
Wish I wasn't on the other side of the ocean so I could help. Been obsessed with your channel for a couple of months and very excited to start my own path with cob some day. Thanks for all the effort you put in to include us viewers.
You do a wonderful job. I enjoy watching you. I’m an older woman and I’m impressed with the precise and natural work you do. You are amazing person. I watched all your videos and keep watching them.
your dogged resilience and determination always surprises me kris. faced with the mountain, starting with the scale model, step by step you crack on day by day and shit me old bean she’s looking good! iv been poking fun about that stair well feeling missed out but good on ya mate! always a pleasure!
I see re-doing the wind power bigger and more batteries in the future, what a shop, built of mostly dirt its just great, can't wait to see your scaled models and ideas for your house.
I have really enjoyed watching your journey with you building your little piece of Eden. And on this journey that little Kubota must be worth its weight in gold.
Great video lots of progress. The drone footage is a nice addition. It really showcases your land. Don't forget to plan a hole for an exhaust fume hose from whatever you may work on during the cold.
I'm sorry about all the stuff that went wrong. I'm sure that must be terribly frustrating. But it looks like you got a lot of good done, too. The upper workshop is looking beautiful! And the sheep are adorable, too. 🐑
Man, I love the way Kris builds everything to appear like it belongs in medieval times. What a fantastic atmosphere to be immersed in. Like going back in time, er, except for the solar panels and turbines and things, ha.
As I was watching this video I though about all that you have done here at this location starting with you setting the foundation of you house wow how time flies.
Hi Kris, just a hint...weld a tow bar ball to the top of your front tractor bucket...you can tow and move anything then and it does not affect the performance of the bucket. I also did it to a mini digger blade and it was so awesome towing anything anywhere. Great vids...I'm jealous
Love your videos mate a true inspiration.. when I go back to watching the video when you first started explaining your vision and we’re you are now .well done mate living the dream 👌keep up the good work
When you mentioned the weight of the cob used only inside the new workspace, some images from murican building methods popped up in my mind. ;-) And I like your practical style of thinking/solving problems , using the tractor for mixing the cob is another fine example.
This guys just amazes me he has this amazing ability and stamina that put most to shame I think this guy has legend status The work will never be done but as time goes by all the frootz of his labour are really going to pay off
Nice work mate 👍👏👏. My 1st job after school was working for a metal work fabrication company, where they had 20 and 30 tonne lathes and machines, the old boy who owned the company was in his 70’s and amazing. During alterations we would set up on Friday ready to move some of these machines the following week. when turning up Monday morning we would find the old boy had already done it over the weekend on his own. 70 years old and moving stuff like this with Jimmy bars, pulleys and blocks & tackle. …… Incredible.
It looks beautiful. Phenomenal amount of work but worth it. Now you can think about the next building you hinted at some time ago. Thank you great viewing
Ha ha - some machine Kris - Love this vid on the tractor with the drone...like an episode of Trumpton :) What a beautiful space in the main upstairs work area. The window apertures, cob surround with those large radius curves, the central woodwork frame you created with the light streaming in from skylight, are reminiscent of Antoni Gaudi.
You've made a great amount of progress. Don't worry about not being able to film the entire process of cobbing...the help is more important than us seeing every bit of it. So thankful you had someone to help. Just think how long it would've taken you on your own. Can't wait to see what comes on the next video. Take care, stay safe & well. Hi Dot!!
Thanks for the video Kris, good to see you Dot and nice to see puss just laying in the sun! ;-) It is great to see all these projects coming together the satisfaction must be immense. And doing hydro surveys that little business dream becoming reality is so good to see. Cheers, a.
I was starting to panic. No Kris this weekend 😅. What a relief. Keep up the great work. A real pleasure to follow the ups and downs.
I remember when it was Thursdays and I still have in my head to this day its Thursday so when it came to Sunday morning I was also panicking

THIS IS SERIOUSLY HARD WORK, BRILLIANT JOB.
Hey Kris, hope you and all your projects were safe from the storm yesterday and survived the weather without any harm. Greetings from germany
Hi Dennis, yeah all fine here thank you, the end clips in this video are from this morning. Thanks for asking.
@@KrisHarbour Love your channel , stay save and stay away from the snake bite
Kris, a tip for you some years ago a mate decided to build he and his wife a cob brick house not far from where I live
The way he mixed his cob was he had an electric cement mixer geared to turn in reverse (so the cob wouldn't bind up into one large lump) he could make on his own 75 bricks including prep and clean up a day in under 2 hours
I know you can get cement mixers that can be portable on tractors or bobcats (see Andrew Camerata's Yt channel)
You could drive to your piles of clay and sand load up add chopped straw (I had a mulcher that would have done that perfectly) and then dump it on location as needed.
I like the mill and you said it was in excellent condition but am cringing at you leaving it in such a damp environment for a long time even if you put Crc or RP7 or oil ON it
You could have stored it in the lower work shop till the walls where cured and dry
For ease why aren't you using a tressel (2 ladders and a length of board between them) you could load up the board with blobs of cob and not have to get up or down a ladder 60 times....
