0:44 - my absolute favorite part (okay, aside from Matt's hair magic), when the transition from Travis to Liam running is so smooth and picks up in their parts of the music as well! This is *chef's kiss*
@@JPIQQG No, the captions are correct - Travis sings "From the healer", Liam continues "to the renegade" =) Their singing voices sound really similar, they sync together amazingly well, but if you listen very closely, Liam's voice is a hint... sharper? I don't know how to describe it better, sorry!
Well Ashley's part will sound basically the same for sure. They had to teach her how to "sing bad" for The Last of Us because her voice was "too perfect"
If you think live performances are unprocessed, oh boy (or not boy), you're not ready to hear an actual raw take (and you're ready to learn a lot about sound engineering, which I encourage you to do) Even amazing voices, if unprocessed (but still rendered through devices such as microphones, speakers, etc) will always sound like shit. Because microphones do not work like the human ear does, and speakers, electronic circuits etc add another layer to that. So you actually already have to do a decent amount of processing just to end up with something that sounds *kind of* similar to what you would hear if you were standing near the person and hearing them directly I've recorded and mixed a decent number of singers/rappers and various instrument, and raw takes, even of great performers and with great microphones, always sound like shit. What we most of the time call "raw takes" are not raw strictly speaking, the processing is just kept to a minimum, without the "bonus" shiny aesthetic effets such as delays, autotune, distorsion, fancy reverbs and stuff like that So I feel like the processed/unprocessed dichotomy doesn't really make sense. Stuff is just more or less processed, and sounds more or less like what you would "naturally hear" if you were directly standing near the performer. PS: Ashley's part would not sound the same irl. But live, with good sound engineers, it might. I'm pretty sure none of their voices are being pitch-corrected, they are voice actors after all so with just a bit of work it's probably very easy for them to sing in tune. Don't get me wrong, she sounds like she's an awesome singer, but no one's voice sounds like that irl. The ethereal and very spectacular vibe she has is greatly helped by the compression, reverbs and delays she has going on there. That voice sounds like it's echoing in the dark, like it's calling from ages ago. Those effects add a lot to the pretty strong and deep voice she seems to have.
To think all this stemmed from a Birthday party, makes my heart warm up. Shows you just how good people can be when they enjoy themselves doing things they love.
I think of that every time they hit another milestone. The kickstarter that went way beyond what they expected. Amazon Prime picking them up for a second season (and likely more). It all started as a Birthday game that was supposed to just be a one off.
Trying to figure out if it's true vocals from the cast, or just a really good synthesized sound. It's a little deeper in the mix, and I don't have a great producer's ear. Either case, I agree. Also cool how the layered "vocals" are echoed immediately by something that sounds a bit like a mizmar. Lovely!!!

I love this intro so much. Thank you to everyone who helped make this intro so brilliant.
Robbie isn't in the final shot or any of the roundtable group shots, so I'm pretty sure that confirms that he's temporary, which is a shame imo. He had the introduction shot with his name, which is cool, but if you look at it, that scene is pretty short (like 2 or 3 seconds) and he's on his own, which probably means that it was edited in by shortening one or two scenes around his. That way, it's easy to remove him from the opening when he eventually leaves the table.
Robbie being a participant was something that was decided on fairly late, so they'd probably already finished most of the work on the intro by that point.
@@EightThreeEight The issue here is that Sam is shows with FCG gas can which means its a super recent filming. So pretty sure the OP's comment is correct in that this is confirming he isn't permanent which I think is a huge mistake. Marisha is a great business woman, I feel she HAS to see the overwhelming positive review of Robbie and how people want him to stay. But it also plays into Travis and his characters. For all we know, this campaign could be one giant game of musical chairs with characters coming in and out through out. Players playing multiple characters throughout the run.
I thought I was the only one that felt bummed that Robbie was only shown once and not in the last part where they all stand together now I get it he's not a CR OG but in my opinion he RP's pretty good and I feel is a good add on to the show and with such little we see of him in this intro makes me believe he is not staying long which somewhat bums me out

Oh neat, I didn't know there was an actual term for that, I just thought it was basic harmonization! When I first heard it, I had to replay that part a dozen times, it was so elegantly done! From 00:37 to 00:41, when they sing "he mi-i-ight" is there a musical term for the multi-note pattern it ends with? (In contrast to ending with a solid note like from :44 to :47.)
The whole song is full of harmonics, the part i was describing is just the most easily recognisable. Usually, when you have two voices together singing different notes at the same time, you calculate the distance between the 2 notes and that is how you name the interval. It dependends on the distance between the 2 notes. Hope that helped a bit :)

"adding more allies, taking more chances"
I think this is a brilliant nod to the direction critical role is taking with integrating guests more and doing unexpected things.
At least Robbie. That they include him into the intro video for the campaign 3 speaks volumes. And makes us new Robbie fanboys happy

@@cleosan8150 Their voices match the visual.
Everyone's anticipating hearing the crowd sing this at a live show, but how about getting to hear the _cast_ sing it on stage, live and unprocessed?
I desperately hope this actually happens.
oh hell yeah
Both? Both. We want both
Well Ashley's part will sound basically the same for sure. They had to teach her how to "sing bad" for The Last of Us because her voice was "too perfect"
If you think live performances are unprocessed, oh boy (or not boy), you're not ready to hear an actual raw take (and you're ready to learn a lot about sound engineering, which I encourage you to do)
Even amazing voices, if unprocessed (but still rendered through devices such as microphones, speakers, etc) will always sound like shit. Because microphones do not work like the human ear does, and speakers, electronic circuits etc add another layer to that. So you actually already have to do a decent amount of processing just to end up with something that sounds *kind of* similar to what you would hear if you were standing near the person and hearing them directly
I've recorded and mixed a decent number of singers/rappers and various instrument, and raw takes, even of great performers and with great microphones, always sound like shit. What we most of the time call "raw takes" are not raw strictly speaking, the processing is just kept to a minimum, without the "bonus" shiny aesthetic effets such as delays, autotune, distorsion, fancy reverbs and stuff like that
So I feel like the processed/unprocessed dichotomy doesn't really make sense.
Is there gonna be a Behind the scenes for this? I would to everyone singing.
I'm sure they did make one!
I really hope so

It's amazing, that I agree. Sure, you need a certain base of talent, but it's them being genuine that brought this so far.
What's really crazy is that years later dipshits still post this comment as if it's original.
I think of that every time they hit another milestone. The kickstarter that went way beyond what they expected. Amazon Prime picking them up for a second season (and likely more). It all started as a Birthday game that was supposed to just be a one off.

I bummed that Robbie isn’t in the final lineup. I hope both parties decide to bring him on throughout the rest of the campaign
Robbie being a participant was something that was decided on fairly late, so they'd probably already finished most of the work on the intro by that point.
it's so. More of EXU. When the summer comes back he'll take the spotlight again. Maybe make moves on the BrightQueen??
@@EightThreeEight The issue here is that Sam is shows with FCG gas can which means its a super recent filming. So pretty sure the OP's comment is correct in that this is confirming he isn't permanent which I think is a huge mistake. Marisha is a great business woman, I feel she HAS to see the overwhelming positive review of Robbie and how people want him to stay.
But it also plays into Travis and his characters. For all we know, this campaign could be one giant game of musical chairs with characters coming in and out through out. Players playing multiple characters throughout the run.
I thought I was the only one that felt bummed that Robbie was only shown once and not in the last part where they all stand together now I get it he's not a CR OG but in my opinion he RP's pretty good and I feel is a good add on to the show and with such little we see of him in this intro makes me believe he is not staying long which somewhat bums me out
Bruh- How is this is possible.
How are they ALL so amazing at singing? Like wtf
Post production is a miracle :)
They also all have trained voices which I can imagine helps a lot!
@@20storiesunder That's some very good points. Here I am not caring whether it's duecto post production or not, because they still sound amazing, lmfao
@@avis199 Oh absolutely! I think the most important part is them feeling it and it definitely sounds that way.
1:24 Liam holding up the classic one finger back hand to signify the natural one, I freaking love it.
Or 'discreetly' flipping the bird in a PG fashion ;)
or making a Fighter's Goading Attack!
@@Ailieorz given both Ashley and Laura mouth "Oh fuck!" In an earlier scene I somehow doubt they were going for the pg flip off.
My favorite part of this is how, in the "Explorers" segments, each person is so perfectly represented as characters from a 1920's-style expeditionary force. Matt is the intellectual, who looks surprised and confused to be included in this venture. Laura, Marisha and Ashley are the adventuresses who refuse to take a back seat and let the men do all the important stuff. Travis is the "muscle" who knows when NOT to fight; Liam just looks damn good! I can completely imagine Robbie as the pilot and Sam as the questionable side-kick who seems to have connections, but you're just not sure he's on your side. And I swear, I totally expected a Cockney accent to come out of Taliesin's mouth. This is glorious!
Yeah they nailed this intro
The motion control together with the Slow-Mo works sooooo well, the way its shot is amazing
Mad respect to Camera Control and the crazy good Cobra High-Speed System
I didnt even realize Liam and Travis sang after the other
They sounded so similar
But also
Matt and Taliesin's harmonizing was so good
This
Is
Great AH
I thought were Liam and Robbie
@@TheGunser98 Travis sings the first line(iirc from the Healer) and Liam the second(to the renegade) Robbie just appears but doesnt sing any of it
@@brandonokeeffe1193 they apparently changed that. First, the captions said "Liam: From the healer" and "Travis: To the renegade". Now, it's the other way around...
@@flame6454 Sam justconfirmed it’s Travis first and Liam second 😁
I really don't hear travis at all to be honest😅
The vibes: immaculate.
The hype: real.
My sexuality: under review.
hahahaha... same... i am sooo in love with all men in CR especially matt.. damn it.. XD
I can almost hear Matt roaring at 1:14
Hotel: Trivago
Love that Major third between Taliesin and Matt, that right there is great musical production guys!
Your songs always leave one inspired and excited!
Seriously I wasn't sure if anyone else noticed that. Its wonderful on the ears.
@@velorraplays There is, but I don't remember the term. I barely know anything about music at all.
@@Spiderboydk That's okay :) Thought I'd ask, just in case!
