I was the wardrobe supervisor on the film The Devil's Own. We finished shooting in Ireland and I got to go to dress Brad Pitt. We stayed in Dublin but shot in various rural areas including Port Oriel. I think it was the most fun I ever had during a shoot, the people, the food, the music, the flora, and the fauna were all amazing ( except for the no-see-ums that swarmed us at sundown )! Brad gave me a sterling silver chamber stick made by one of Ireland's premier silversmiths as a wrap gift during the wrap party in one of the stone signaling towers on the coast. What a heavenly experience! I forgot the incredible smell of the peat fires in the cottages in Port Oriel!
Thank you for showing Your Ireland. Very beautiful, and there might be reason you have such a gentle soul . Keep taking us out to see the Ireland you love and I’ll come along for the ride in your Dads old Land Rover anytime.
Brian - Your VLOG's are getting better with every new episode. I am so glad the weather gods have given you so sunny/dry welcome home. Cheers to being home. Enjoy your time and please rest up, Dan and Nick are really missing you and your gifts of rebuilding a French Chateau
Thankyou for sharing your Ireland! It is lovely. There is asayingbackhere in the USA, “if you visit Ireland,a drop of your blood will be changed forever.” And that drop is still trying, after 8 trips to go back.I can’t imagaine being a born Irish native, that you would wish to leave!
Well, you didn't disappoint. Your eye for natural beauty certainly didn't let you down, Ireland looks stunningly romantic, old and mystical. Can't wait for further trips in your father's Land Rover.
Wow!!!! That was beautiful. Ireland is your soul. Dan uses that song sometimes. I wish we had more detailed shots in that ancient settlement it looked like there was a lot going on there. Your vlogs just keep getting better and better. Looking forward to more. 🧡
Thank you Brian. Absolutely stunning video. I love those kind of friendships that you pick up where it had left off like no time had passed at all. Rare and beautiful.
Thank you for sharing. Brought some sunshine into a somber time of weather devastation here in U.S.A. . Enjoy being home with family and friends. I heard your pride in your voice as we wandered with you.
I loved the music and , that’s what attracted me to to Dan’s vlog. Now we have Brain taking us on a Irish tour, maybe we’ll get a bit of Irish music, corny I know but ❤️ it . With those sweeping views a little ballad is pleasing.🥰
I haven't been back to Ireland for over 20 years but I still recall the beauty of the landscape. As well as the Wicklow Mountains & Glendalough, the waterfall at Powerscourt is a must see!
brian is like that best mate you see down the pub (or in a cafe even!) on a weekday afternoon for a relaxed drink and chillout... then you realise how bril he is at being himself! 🎉🎉🎉 the sights are beaut! its kinda a good job "normal" tourists (the type that take the tour bus not research the area and find those rare things tours dont!) dont see this or it'd be wrecked! thanks for taking us with you brian, your an ace at this! so glad you have shared this! 🍻🍻🍻😊
I love Ireland before retiring i did coach tours for 40 years ,thanks for taking me back to the Wicklow mountains very peaceful place until 15 coaches fulls pull in 👍
I was fortunate to visit Ireland & it was of the most beautiful places I have ever seen with the kindest people. The Cliffs of Moher are absolutely spectacular!
Absolutely beautiful Brian. I did watch the movie with Amy Adams and loved the landscape that was shown, but you have topped it with this tour. The cemetery is something to behold.
I have just arrived from Ireland, and this vlog came up. I'm in Seattle now and missing Ireland already. My daughter moved to Kilkenny, a month ago, she's happy and living it. I fell in love with Carlos and Kilkenny on this trip. Your vlog has filled my heart. Have a wonderful time in your home country. I love the music. Now I've got three weeks to catch up as I've been away this long. Cheers.
I was reminded of Pacific Northwest landscapes by Brian's vlog today. Old volcanoes with evergreens? Check. Alpine flora above the evergreens? Check. An old crater now hosting a lake? Check. I've been told that PNW weather was very attractive to expat Englishmen who were reminded of London, but maybe it's just people at that general latitude who enjoy our long rainy season? ;)
My son and I toured the Republic of Ireland in 2016. He is a professor of Music, but also speaks Irish, so he translated many of the signs and such. Will be doing Summer Irish Music tours beginning next Summer. We (he) Drove all over the South part. East to West Coast with 3 days walking all over Dublin. Loved it. Especially Glendalough!!
i've had the great pleasure visiting Ireland in 1999.......what a story! landed in Knock and took off in Dublin.....no where in the world will you EVER find the greatest dark ale except Guiness in Dublin..............LOVE IT ALL ................ very social people ...beautiful country
Looks absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for taking us along. I hope you had a wonderful time with friends, drank some beers and laughed like you havent in a long time
Thank you Brian for showing me/us your country with honesty and enthusiasm .I live in Italy near the wonderful village of Bobbio, founded in the 6th century by the irish monk Colombano who died here. It is so emotional to see you wandering in ruins that are a kind of root for my community too.
I'm French, from Britanny, traveled the world and spent 3 years in Ireland!! Working in Portarlington and living in Mountmellick.. yep in the bogue!! Through my work I drove to all counties and met farmers, families, B&B ladies...love the people, not so much the weather...and in 2009 the Celtic Tigre bit the dust...so, that was the end for me on the Green Erin😃😃
I spent about a week in Ireland once, years ago. I could have spent a lifetime there and it would not have been enough. The Irish must be very proud of their country. It truly is the Emerald Isle and her people are its jewels.
WOW, what beautiful countryside! I absolutely love the old stone fences and all of the amazing stonework structures that you showed us today. Can you imagine how difficult they would have been to build back in the 11th or 12th centuries? Hope you have a grand time with your old Irish mates this evening.🍺 Safe travels 🛻
I visited Dublin when my son lived there and had a great time. The Land rover suited the countryside and the tower you showed us was very tall. Was that not where Rapunzel is waiting to be freed ha ha. A very interesting place. Thanks for taking us with you Brian, enjoyed the countryside. Have a lovely day.
Thank you so much for sharing ❤ I enjoy your vlogs immensely, they always leave me feeling cozy & with a smile on my face. I have just finished binging all your videos. So glad you got back home. Rest, relax & enjoy 🙂
A good many years ago I ran a course in Dublin and they put me up in a hotel somewhere towards Bray. I managed to find my way to Johnny Fox's one evening, but they didn't have any music! One place that's on my bucket list is the library of the University of Galway: the James Hardiman library! I used to know the Irish name, but I've forgotten it now.
I was so excited to see parts of Ireland I’ve never been able to see (I’ve only ever made it to Dublin, loved the city too). Thanks for sharing, safe travels.
Ireland is stunning. My husband and I went a few years ago and I loved it. The Cliffs and The Causeway were amazing. The countryside, history are magical. Would love to go back again someday. There is certainly a draw to return..... maybe its my Irish ancestors whispering.... Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Brian. I have Irish ancestry from Donegal and Londenderry. It's nice to get a look at the countryside. My husband also was of Irish ancestry (our last name is McCauley!) and it was our dream vacation to go to Ireland one day, but he got cancer and died three years ago, so I'll have to let you be my tour guide
Oh Brian! What fabulous videos! I can see why my Irish Great Grandfather settled here in western Washington after leaving Ireland! Parts of it look like home! All the evergreen trees! It’s my hearts desire to visit Ireland, the home of my ancestors! Enjoy your trip home!
Aww, Brian.... You keep hoping and looking, Lad. Most of all start PRAYING. God will send your wife along--and she will have been worth the wait.... You are a gentle and sweet soul. I am SURE a fine woman has been waiting all her life to meet you. The BEST IS YET TO COME!! (and I bet she's Irish to boot!) Sincere and humble PRAYER is the key.
Praying is always a good substitute for not making an effort, but you can pat yourself smugly on the back and flatter yourself that you actually did something.
@@LaReynedEpee What a RUDE, SMUG and uncharitable person you are! Do you not understand simple human kindness and how to spread it? What was the point of your comment, but to drag people DOWN! What a miserable human being you are! You are DEFINITELY someone who needs GOD--and Yes, to be PRAYED FOR, until you finally see the light. Praying and humbling yourself before God is not so that we get what we want---but to acknowledge we owe all our life and the fulfillment of its needs to HIM, who is Sovereign over all. HE is ultimately the One we want. But in His great kindness, when we settle on that and delight ourselves in HIM, He often blesses us and gives us our heart's desire as well. I am so sorry that someone as miserable as you are obviously has not yet found joy in life. So Sad. Please do not spread your own misery to others, though. God loves you, despite yourself, and I WILL PRAY for you, since you can't seem to do so yourself. May God Almighty humble you and show you the TRUTH
you can be my tour guide all day long. it may sound morbid to many folks, but i love walking around old burial grounds reading gravestones. i can imagine most of those ones are no longer readable though, sadly.
Oh my gosh! I am living in a drought. Seeing that was so soothing. Green, water, HISTORY! I could happily spend a month just digging into the history. Thank you.
Irish blessings to you and your family, Brian. Thanks for sharing your Ireland with us. Beautiful countryside. Loads of great history...safe journey.❤😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
Rest up, Brian. That bloody turret....... i have never been to Ireland, but anyone I know who has been there regards it as the most beautiful place on Earth.

Wow! What a lovely countryside! But the cemetary was amazing! 6th century, you said? Absolutely beautiful!
I didn't know the name Kevin went that far back. I wonder what other names are ancient, too?
Thank you for bringing us along with you. The scenery is stunning!
Well, you didn't disappoint. Your eye for natural beauty certainly didn't let you down, Ireland looks stunningly romantic, old and mystical. Can't wait for further trips in your father's Land Rover.
This was lovely. And leap year is one of my favorite movies. Of course you would have been great in the lead. Handsome rugged and personable.

I loved the video and the music. Ireland is absolutely beautiful 🤩
6:57 Thank you so much, the tour was very interesting and the drone shots stunning, so look forward to more tomorrow.
I could hear the sentimental journey in your voice at the end Brian. Enjoy your time. 🤗❤️🌈🙏🕊️
Your part of Ireland is amazing 💚 thanks for sharing 👍🏻😉
Thank you Brian. Absolutely stunning video.
I love those kind of friendships that you pick up where it had left off like no time had passed at all. Rare and beautiful.
I love wandering around cemeteries. So peaceful & quiet.
Thanks for showing us the beautiful scenery. And the cemetery was really interesting!
You really do show us some beautiful places, Ireland AND France - wow!
Thank you for sharing. Brought some sunshine into a somber time of weather devastation here in U.S.A. . Enjoy being home with family and friends. I heard your pride in your voice as we wandered with you.
Absolutely gorgeous ❣
You suit the Land Rover too, the drone shot 👍👍😲⭐⭐ TY
4:40 the music reminds me of Dan’s early vlogs.

You're a natural storyteller. Thanks for the tour.
Brian could easily be a tour guide. His appreciation for beautiful scenery, taste of food and drink. He throws in a bit of history, and there you go!
I just love your videos, they are so relaxing and enjoyable. Your a good guy .
Thank you for taking us with you.
I was NOT expecting that landscape. Thanks for taking us along.
Love this song. Dan used to play it... I've missed it.
I haven't been back to Ireland for over 20 years but I still recall the beauty of the landscape. As well as the Wicklow Mountains & Glendalough, the waterfall at Powerscourt is a must see!
A tour of the place loved by the guide is the best way to get to know that place. I'm already loving this tour and the tour has barely begun.
