Or you just ignore food completely, build 2 breweries and 2 inns, buy some starting hops, and set taxes. The taxes will pay off the hops expense and then some. The +8 ale will offset the -8 food and you don't have to concern yourself with protecting your farmers.
@@ololo2sex it got me through damn near the whole trail. Eventually you'll have to upgrade to 4 inns, but that'll only be when you can manage a large population, at which point you should be in pretty good control of your economy anyway. I can't emphasize enough that food is a luxury in this game, not a necessity. Ale on the other hand is absolutely necessary for the games that start you off with little to no access to resources.
For the record: One running inn is enough for a +8 popularity bonus for 30 people. When you go up to 60 population, you'll need a second one. Open up a third one when you expand up to 90. And so on.
I put full bakery in my town with 2 windmill inside my town as it’s square designed to keep bakery safe from enemy with square and at least 8 wheat farms
Here's a little trick I learned: after placing a farm or an orchard, select it and pause the game using 'P' hotkey. Quickly double click the work-halt (zzz) button and unpause the game. The algorithm will send a peasant to the farm and now you have 1+ farmer(s) on a single plain. You can put as many as you like. This trick is quite useful to manage a variety of farmlands on a congested fertile land. EDIT¹: This also works with Iron Ore and doubles its production, but you shouldn't put more than two units of workers on the same iron mines or it will halt the production. EDIT²: Don't try it on bakery or stone quarry as it will halt the production because of overcrowding.
The only correct answer, right here!!! Soon as that game start, I'm buying 200 Wood and placing shit tons of Iron Industries. You get a nice 10 piece of them you'll be making about 2k-3k every two minutes or so
if you delete the orginal stockpile pad you can build a new one ANYWHERE. i dont remember but i don't think its even limited like walls and towers are so you can actually put it anywhere.
I would not recommend you do this at all tbh. The most optimal way to play the game is to not allow your population to consume any of the food that your farmers are producing period. Instead you feed the population with the Inns and build a Church for the additional popularity bonus. If you do this you will be able to sell off all the food that is produced for gold. I definitely prefer to actually feed the population myself but just using Ale is a lot more time and cost efficient than this. If you actually want an economy that is run primarily off of taxes and selling other resources though. There are much better Castle set ups than this.
You can edit the background with your own image aswell. Here's how you do it: In the main folder of the game, there must be an image file of all the icons available in the game, edit that file using the MS Paint and precisely put any work of art (or your own image) in the empty boxes and save the file. Then head to the game and go to settings and choose your identity. Now you will also see your art/logo/picture among the catalog.

2D games doesn't look that outdated compared to 3D from the same period ;-)

Mill doesn't need to be so close. it'll works on same speed if place a little bit far away, and place 1-2 more bakery
If you not wrap wall the works will stand on back side.

This is literally one of the oldest exploit on the game.
Building capitalism inside a feudal simulation
Seems like the editor finally found where his mom was getting screwed so he didn't have time to work on the length of the texts
Once again Nostalgia tricks us into saying "Stronghold was a damn good designed balanced game"
Congratulations, you just built a factory👍
What is my purpose:
ExpertHere: to break bread in a 10x10 square
do you only need one stockpile in crusader?
I guess you can't place stockpile in a wilderness like that
Or just invest everything into making a huge iron industry, sell the weapons and buy food.
