Exactly. The thoughts are well put out and has the a hint of academic thinking-through.

Interesting perspectives. Lower level entry level jobs went way of the Dodo bird in the late 1990s. Late Gen X was denied entry level opportunities then and it has just accelerated since through the younger generations.

The older Boomer generations see the cancel culture being propagated by the younger generations and don't want to be cancelled by being fired losing their retirement. Better to go out quietly with grace than deal with protestors or a big bruhaha.

I’m new to your work but greatly support it. I’m a boomer and have been a bridge builder in many ways over the years, having lived, traveled and worked in different countries and cultures.
My professional career is in finance and banking, and I can immediately see the benefits of your information across the organizations and cultures I have been a part of, and is true even much more so today.
    Well done, Ashley.

"Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity..."

This was a fantastic. As a Gen-z (1997) I can see all of this playing out this way. And to me, in LATAM, there is a fascinating example of this in the Presidential elections in Argentine. Milei is a liberal politicians who have Millennials & Gen Z taking the lead in his campaign and they have manage to turn him into a kind of savior that can change the fate of their country. They are maximizing the use of Tiktok and social media to reach the max amount of people possible

Assuming older employees have less risk bc they are closer to retirement is an error. Benefits are very important as you get older! If an older employee is let go and they don’t have health insurance, then an accident or health crisis could ruin them and the future for their heirs. Also older workers don’t have 15+ years of earning potential to recover from those loses. Ageism is real and it’s very difficult to get a high paying job in your 50s or 60s.

Im a baby boomer. I saw his podcast on the 4th turning. I found it to be very factual. About history facts. Giving examples of 20 block historys in those 80 years.

Agree with most of your talk except, I think gen Z is more unable to perceive economics and technology. Attention traps like tiktok are capturing and directing their salience towards noise, and useful economic signals go unobserved. You also need to have some purchasing power to understand money, and not much money for gen Z and purchasing power slipping away rapidly due to poor central monetary policies particularly post-1971. Millennials have the highest technological perception (not digital social, but rather technical expertise) because they grew up throughout the maturation of the internet and understood how to use and navigate computers in a lower level technical sense, whereas Gen Z largely exists digitally solely within walled garden applications, in polished UIs with any sense of underlying operating system fundamentals stripped away from their purview. Institutions and digital manipulators also hadn't yet come to terms with the new Gutenberg Press moment. Just some thoughts. Thanks!

You are absolutely right, mate! I also think that about the social intuition in digital environment part, that gen Z, me being a part of it even though i don't use social medias that much, because i think they are in a way absurd and full with the shit of people, wasn't spot on. Gen Z is affected by social medias the most, and unfortunately a lot of them don't realise that they are just being made the same by those social medias, it's an absolute disgrace, because they don't have to show they're face, they can take comments back, delete parts of their profile, that they don't like, activities which are far more complex in real life. It's simply a trap of the consciousness. Of course they'll have a better understanding of it, because they grew with it, but that isn't the main social outlet. A lot of the social media part by the way isn't even being social, it's more about scrolling addiction. Or maybe im a little bit confused... Something in that realm.

Great video. Do you host a discord or any other platform, like an online book club, to discuss these ideas?
I'm not an economist, but I'm fascinated by the way you seem to be developing clean and intuitive abstractions on global social dynamics. The concept of salience maps and network power have thoroughly worked their way into my everyday way of thinking about the world.
I originally clicked on your channel expecting the title to be hyperbole, but I'm quite sure now it's not. Thanks for the videos!

You missed his research about Generations which came 1st so its typical behavior of each archetype.
Homelands should be similar to past Artists, Clay and Webster, Martin L. King. Compare Boomers to Lincoln, FDR, Dublin. Nomads like Captain Kidd, Al Capone, Babe Ruth, Washington, Grant, IKE.
So you are too focused on Crisis.
