thanks for a video, worked for me perfect. just one suggestion , for fuel you don't need a clamp, iff its on off position, it won't drain tank iff fuel line is of .
I'm working on one of these saws. It backfires out the carb. Any ideas??
If the carburetor is clean and in good shape, you may need to check the flywheel for a sheared key. Sounds like it may be out of time.
Is this Inverter generator?
@uday20101 i don't think so. Don't know that much about the generator side. I just mess with the small engines
Do you think I will have to ever work on my carb? I only run mine on NG.
@ammogiant824 i apologize but I have zero experience with natural gas. Thanks for watching 🙂👍🏼
Great video thanks ! Followed your instructions with the identical carb, cleaned, reassembled and added the inline filter. I spent 2 hours the previous day trouble shooting with no luck. Ordered a new carb ($50). I Foo und and watched your video last night, went this morning to get carb cleaner and a filter ($25). One hour of work this morning and on the second try she fired up and ran like a charm! I have cancelled my carb order and plan to maintain the carb in the early fall before winter weather and power outages occur. Thanks again!
@ches8008 Thanks for watching. Glad to be able to help 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙂
Thanks Milton my carb leaked fuel from someplace when I started the Gen. I have a Firman dual fuel and will probably buy a new carb. and replace. Thanks for the advice.
Excellent Video Sir! Thank you for sharing all the details. I am about to take my carburetor out of the same model of FIRMAN generator and clean it up real good.
No problem. Thanks for watching.
Very helpful video even for an old guy with no experience on gas engines. Thanks
@@axelbreitkreuz3441 Thanks for watching 😄👍🏼👍🏼
Milton coming hard. Your video just helped me get my generator working hours before the storm. Thank you!
@nathanblanco6478 Thanks for watching. Praying for you guys!
Fantastic instruction video. My bottom needle valve was completely frozen up with crud. After cleaning the carb and freeing up the fuel intake valve it still did not work, so I think the valve/solenoid is bad. Does that valve retract with the on/off switch? If so, I should be able to detach it and see it go in-out when I turn the switch on/off?
@@stevemclaughlin4713 yes activated by key switch. Thanks for watching!
@@chrisdixon2525 Actually, it turned out the venturi that runs up through the center shaft of the carburator was completely plugged with varnish and crud. I don't recall seeing the removal of that in your video but maybe I missed it. After I cleaned that venturi (held in place with a hollow set screw, and replacing the oil, it started 1st pull! Thanks for the insights.
Good Job 👍
That sucker is prolly set to a wopping .68"ipm
I have this same exact generator, bought in Oct 2022 for Hurricane Ian. I've started it and ran it maybe 5 times since then, every 4-5 months I'd try to start it. Well, now it starts when on "choke", but then it dies as soon as I put it to "run" and then gas starts pouring out of the air filter area. I took it apart and that bottom magnetic plunger you mentioned @17:47 was very hard to push in. I cleaned it up quite a bit and it moves in and out a lot easier now, but I also disassembled the rest of the carb and upon reinstallation it still pours out gas from the filter area and still stalls out when I move it from choke to run. Any tips? Thanks!
The float is stuck. Take it back apart pull out the needle that goes in the seat. Clean it really good. If you've got time may just get a new one from Amazon. I know i said in the video they are more expensive but I don't think they're that high. Just put a new one on it and soak and clean your old one so it'll be ready in an emergency. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
@@chrisdixon2525 thank you so much for the quick reply, much appreciated! We just dodged this big Hurricane, but I'd surely like to get this thing running and be prepared for the next time I need it. I just picked up some carb cleaner, so I'll disassemble it all again and clean it with carb cleaner this time instead of fuel, and see if that helps. If not, looks like I'm buying a new float. I noticed that complete carburetors are around $28, maybe I'll just grab a whole replacement and mess with this one on the side. Thank you again for your knowledge and for your video, was extremely helpful in taking this thing apart and putting it back together! Also appreciate the insight in to adding a fuel filter in there, I may have to snag one of those too. Just any universal 1/4" fuel filter that looks like that should work, right?
@@shaneswartz6053 Yessir Your welcome
@@chrisdixon2525 we're back in business! Took it all apart and cleaned with carb cleaner, every nook and cranny. Been up and running great for the past 30 minutes. Thanks again brother!
Thanks so much for this video. We have the same exact generator, had tried to starve it of gas after Hurricane Ida, and it did not work for our one day without power after Hurricane Francine. Couldn't get it to keep running after many tries over this last week. Watched your video twice, followed all your clear instructions, and got it back to running on the first try! I'm happy and grateful for your steps because it was easy for me to follow and figure out. My husband appreciates your attention to detail as well. Thank you!
Worst video ever get to the problem
I appreciated your video. I followed your instructions and got my 7552 running again.
Glad to see you putting that CDL to use!
Hey Brooks! That was the plan 😁! Enjoying my days for sure. It's been a good thing. 4 months in. Been trying to figure out how to get some videos posted. It's a different day for sure but I love it.
You are the man. Thanks!
thanks a lot for making this video. You have saved me a lot of time, even though I could have done it anyway. Most of all, I probably avoided a few mistakes!
Mys is new but the gas was leaking from carb. And I lit a match three lines burned the 2 coming from the black can on the bottom don't know where they go
You need to start posting again I love the vids❤
@BKHIGHLIGHTZ Thanks. Yes I've got to start back.
Thanks for this video. I followed your guide today and got my WH03242 running again! I had to go thru everything twice - not sure what I missed the first time. The only thing I need to do now is get a new gasket for the bottom of the carb bowl. Mine had a fiber gasket and it fell apart. Going to get a tube of gasket material. Now I have the confidence to work on my weed whacker!! Thanks again.
I'm watching this to try and help my adad with his generator, I'm going to remember every step because dude is literally Hank Hill.
Thank you for your video. I have a Fireman W03081with inverter generator. It won't start anymore. I cleaned the carburetor. Drained and cleaned the fuel tank and put in new fuel. Changed the oil and changed the spark plug. I tried checking the oil level monitor and turning it off but I can't find it. Do you have any other solutions to suggest?
@@francoislapointe6846 make sure it is firing at the spark plug
@@chrisdixon2525 yes i checked today and i see fire . Yes, I checked today and I can see a little spark. Any other suggestions? I wanted to try with a starter liquid.
@francoislapointe6846 try a very small amount of starting fluid in the throat of the carb. If it fires you still have a fuel issue. Check filters and line obstructions
for me the issue was the mechanism that the float was connected to it is stuck upwards because this new age gas tearing up these poor carbs
Great video. Awesome detail. Thank you 😊
Thank you!
GREAT video...my Firman won't start, and I suspect it is bad gas...been sitting for an extended time. Plan on cleaning Carb this weekend. Questions...when I drain the gas from the tank, can I burn it in my lawn mower or truck with no problems? Also, what are the steps to removing the air filter/housing?
@@erichook1519 Thanks ! I wouldn't chance putting the gas in anything else. I believe the filter housing has 3 screws.2 nuts that hold the carburetor. And one on the back side.
Got my generator back up and running…have a small problem though…see picture-do you know if I can buy this part by itself? Do you recommend just replacing the rubber gasket?
Having issues uploading a photo…it’s the larger screw that secures the bottom cup of the carburetor to the top. The larger rubber gasket to the inside of the carb (when screwed in) is frayed-can you buy this part by itself?
For what it’s worth I keep a new carb and hose for my generator just in case, for 20 bucks it’s great insurance ❤
What is the fuel line size?
Golf tee work for plugging the fuel hose 😊
AMAZING!!!Best video ive watched, trust me ive watched plenty trying to find a proper one to teach me and explain how to do it,trust me when i say ive watched plenty videos and this one has been the only video actually explaining every step on how to fully clean and how to take apart.Great work keep doing these videos ill definitely be coming towards the future.Hope you have an amazing day!
Thanks so much glad it helped!

Thank your, yes you are a life saver. Hope you make some money on video. I have the 3 gas option generator for using the house natural gas. Its hard wired to the house electrical panel. with a lock- out. Much like a whole house generator but not automatic. When I hook it up it runes everything, but my Geothermal furnace. It also runs the furnace fan. with my gas fire place running I can keep the house fairly warm. Thank you for having a desire to help people. God Bless
Thank you Kind sir. I appreciate you. Glad the video helped ya.
in the video at 43:04(the firman generator) is the washer your talking about fiber or rubber@@chrisdixon2525
that fuel filter is turned the wrong way
Good observation sir. I realized it when I put the new clamps on. It was right when it left my shop. Easy to do when ya trying to make a video instead of concentrating on the work. 😄👍🏼
I’m gonna subscribe
I need the order of the gaskets and plastic part for this generator please
For the carb
I don't have parts for sale. Just look up what you need on Amazon or Google it. Thanks for watching.
No worries I have all the gaskets and plastic part of or for the carb Ty for this video
Meant order as in placement
My bad🫤 If ya can't figure it out get back with me. Sorry. Thanks for the sub.😊
I try to get them not too use the gas just the propane, most just don’t understand that gas goes bad and it’s a problem 😊
I buy used junk stuff of Facebook marketplace and other sites I have plenty of work put I like to gamble on fixing them and making money, 73 life time diesel mechanic that was raised in Father auto shop Went to trade school on diesel and hdy systems Now I just relax and enjoy it😊
I have not run into the odd ball size hose since I started buying from sten and eparts Had some issues with eBay and Amazon both Now buying from Hipi
Thanks for the info. And thanks for watching
Yes I got four fake ngk plugs The factory rep came by the parts store where I had left one plug in the box, they called me and he showed me what was different on box and the plug, plus he gave me 4 real ngk plugs 😊😊😊
Followed. Cleaned my firman carb and started first time after not starting after 30 tries. Thanks
Glad it helped ya out. Thanks for watching
@@chrisdixon2525quick question. My battery took a hit from me trying to start it 30 times without it starting before I cleaned it. If I leave the generator running for a hour or two will it recharge the battery? I have a pull start on it to. But I started it with a portable battery jump. I don’t have a slow charger right now but was wondering if i just left it running will it charge up the battery again. Thanks
It may help a little Probably won't fully recover without charging on battery charger.
Single mom here and thisssss here is a life saver... i really appreciate the attention to detail
Hope it can help in some way! Thanks for watching.
Really appreciate the advice. I have the same issue. Starting to clean carb in just a few minutes.
Hope the video helps! Thanks for watching 👍🏼🙂
How much is a new carb and where can you buy it?
Around 35$-45$ on Amazon. Just search model# of generator on Amazon.
I did buy it. For $40 delivered I’ll save myself an hour of time. Thanks for the video, I’ll use it on the install and then play with the old one to have as a backup
I did buy it. For $40 delivered I’ll save myself an hour of time. Thanks for the video, I’ll use it on the install and then play with the old one to have as a backup
I don’t know why that posted twice
🤣👍🏼no problem
This was a very fine video! Covered everything. Thanks so much. Some editing for length would have made it even better. Great job!
Thanks for watching and the comment 👍🏼🙂
Do you happen to know what kind of gaskets this carb uses? I'm preparing to rebuild mine but can't seem to find the right gasket kit. I prefer to have them handy just in case they're stubborn and want to tear / fall apart
Look up on Amazon carburetor gasket kit for 439cc clone engine. If yours is exactly like the one in the video. Should have a decal telling engine size. Should get multiple gaskets in one kit for like 10$.
Local parts store have different thickness of material for gaskets and you can make one
Great thanks
Hope ya enjoyed it. Check back often for more. Thanks👍🏼🙂
Is there a special procedure to clean the old gas out of the main tank?
I just take the fuel line off the carb. And drain old gas out of the tank. I spray carburetor cleaner in the tank and attach an old piece cloth to a wooden stick or dowel rod and wipe the interior of the tank as much as possible. Pour a little gas in and swish it around and drain it. Repeat until tank is free from rust and crud. Install inline fuel filter between tank and carb. Fill with gas and change the fuel filter as needed . Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for more helpful videos. 🙂👍🏼 If ya need more help, let me know. I'll make a video to help ya.
Thank you. I’m planning on trying to run off propane only so I don’t have to do this as often.
No problem Yes I agree on the propane. I haven't tried mine on propane yet but I'm ready to try it
Went through all the steps and generator still won’t start (propane only). It cranks and just chuggs but doesn’t run. Any tips on what to try next? Spark plug maybe?
@@BT-bx1un so it runs good on propane ?
I’ve got same saw ran it for 4 years here and there around property Now when she gets hot she stalls won’t start again Thanks for the video Good idea on drilling holes for air filter Think I might try that ✌️
Thanks for watching . 👍🏼🙂 Yessir some of the saws have some odd problems. I've worked on some that I never got fixed . Pretty sure it's air leaks in the crankcase that don't show up when it's not running. Thanks for watching hope you found some help or entertainment from my channel. 🙂👍🏼
