But the game he lost his job and we lost on a two-point conversion at the end of the game lmfao as Florida fans we would take a one-point loss to Missouri at this point😂 in fact some of you would get on your knees and beg for it

Kiffin's first year at Ole Miss was 2020 - the DC he brought in was DJ Durkin. So, Durkin was available after the 2019 season. What do you think happens in the SEC title game with Durkin as DC opposed to Grantham, same for 2021 against Bama? In 1 year Durkin took Ole Miss from 117th in scoring defense to 51st. Mullen could have brought in Durkin but chose to keep Grantham. That move alone probably makes UF 2020 SEC champs and in the playoff, then beats Bama in 2021, giving UF 2 straight over Bama, at least a Top 5 ranking, tons of momentum and saves Mullen's job. That one move changes the trajectory of the program and it was plainly obvious to everyone in the country, yet Mullen and Stricklin refused to make that move.
Mullen can cry all he wants about being told 'no' when he was at UF - the person responsible for his failure was himself. Stricklin should have said "no" when Mullen wanted to bring Grantham back in 2020. Georgia destroyed UF on 3rd down in 2019. That's why they lost that game. The entire nation knew about '3rd & Grantham' and who was it that didn't force a change on Mullen? Scott Stricklin. He has to be fired. A confederacy of experts will always prevent the right thing from being done - and that is what we have at UAA and in the UF administration. People like Fuchs and Stricklin have to go. With donks like them around, things are never going to get better.

Why would Lane Kiffin be feuding over Ole Miss future opponents (WF backed out) if he is considering leaving? Keep dreaming. You missed him two years ago and Auburn tried to get him Lane is well positioned for a National Championship. He can play that out and go anywhere he wants besides the dumpster fire that is Florida. Beg Mullen to come back. He was a great coach. He had MSU #1 in the land before you called him home so you could just fire him. Get your tissues out. You are about to get your feelings hurt. Spend the 100 million on NIL and get some depth so you can win a game or two instead of pissing it away firing coaches.

I can't remember who said it but someone did say Lane Kiffin's mother still resides in Florida after his father passed away and she could relocate and live with Lane and still enjoy living in Florida if he took the Gators job.
Florida is a top 10 job, not a top 3 job. Lane at UF wouldn't necessarily mean he'll always have better or teams equally good as Georgia, Bama, and Texas and that's just the SEC. Sure he'll field more fun and competitive teams than Napier and Mullen but UF would also have to spend a lot more money than what they are currently spending to compete with those schools on a yearly basis in hopes of building a program that can make the top 12 team playoffs most years and actually win a title once or twice a decade if all goes right for them.
Good luck. Hating you guys isn't as fun when you guys are this bad.

@@tylervick7631 How many of the current AP top 12 ranked teams do you think have no shot at winning the championship this year?
I think everyone ranked in the current AP top 12 rankings except for Oregon, Penn State, Mizzou, and Utah could win the championship this season. Maybe after a month from now I could trim a few more teams off, but this year really feels like there are 6 to 8 really good teams that could win this year's championship.
None of them look unstoppable like some of the past championship teams within the past ten years that mostly had one or two teams that stood so far ahead of everyone else and was a forgone conclusion who would be playing in the title game early on. Yeah there have been a few surprises, but those haven't been the norm most years.

  • @jdhutch80
    @jdhutch80 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

When Mullen was fired, Napier was the hot name, and he had elevated Louisiana to its highest level. At the same time, NIL and the portal changed the landscape of college football, and Napier was (and is) slow to adapt to it. Had Napier been hired when Mullen was, I think he would have been more successful. We don't know whether a coach will work out or not. Muschamp was a great hire, until things fell apart due to injuries in 2013. Meyer seemed like a sure hit, but when he broke down in tears after LSU in 2005 and lost to South Carolina, you could be forgiven if you questioned that hire. There's a degree of skill and a degree of luck in hiring the right coach at the right time, and very few coaches replicate their success at multiple stops, because every school is different. I'm rooting for Napier to succeed, I'll be rooting for the interm coach to succeed, and be rooting for his replacement to succeed. I'm just not convinced that Kiffin is the can't miss hire everyone seems to think he is.

    • @nickytorres662
      @nickytorres662 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I agree. College football is much more complex now and the NIL and transfer portal is the new recruiting basically. The question is how good or great of a coach will be judged based on how well you can get the team with chemistry. For example, I'm very impressed with Miami with all those Tranfers playing very well so far. I didn't think Cristobal was good enough to accomplish that. If they continue to play that way and ward can stay healthy, I think they can contend for the NT. Of course, they have to play almost perfect and no injuries but I would not want to play them if they make the playoffs. My opinion

I love Dan Mullen, but this is exhibit A as to why he had to go… UF fans aren’t the only fans who want points. EVERY team wants points. That’s how football works today.
That being said, I hope UF hires a P5 offensive minded coach and a DC who has the power to kind of separate his unit from the rest of the team and really coach them up. We need a new strength and conditioning team too.

@@derklavierspieler7491 my point was that Mullen feels that need to clarify that Florida wants points, as if that isn’t what all teams want. He didn’t do enough on the offensive side of the ball as head coach, and I think he was fired mostly because of lazy recruiting. He has a defensive mind and that won’t work in P5. Any defensive minded coach who’s made it has either also an understanding of offense or B, hires offensive coaches who know how to formulate a good/great offense. Mullen had no idea how to put together a strong offense, and that’s fine. But he’s not a championship contending HC.

@@derklavierspieler7491 you know what, I was confusing him and Muschamp. It’s been a long week lol. I do think that with Mullen, he was lazy with recruiting and he didn’t necessarily bring in any good QBs, aside from AR, who didn’t really get a chance until he was a sophomore.

Ron Zook had Steve Spurrier players! So what are you talking about??? Will Muschamp had Urban Meyer players that were brought into UF after UF won 2 National Championships. Did you forget about that? What did Dan Mullen do at UF to up UF's recruiting? Oh. Nothing?! It would have taken Lincoln Riley and staff to come into UF with his transfer of players from Oklahoma to win at UF. Even if Anthony Richardson transferred to Ole Miss in 2022, it wouldn't have changed Ole Miss record in 2022. They lost to Texas Tech in their bowl game which is just as bad as UF losing to Oregon State in their bowl game, which Richardson did not play in.

      Good grief.
Yeah and while we’re at it let’s fill out the staff with former players.
      Tim Tebow - HC
      Danny Weurffel - OC
      Jevon Kearse - DC
      Lito Sheppard - Special Teams
      Rex Grossman - QBs
      Both Pounceys - OL
      Kevin Carter - DL
      Fred Taylor - RBs
      Chris Doering - WRs
      Joe Haden - DBs
      Eddy Pineiro - Ks
      Johnny Townsend - Punters
      Ryan Farr - Long Snappers
Strength & Cond - Errict Rhett
Or we could just fire Billy and hire an actual coach.

Yes, we want a coach with swagger. AND ... we want the coach to back it up!
Give me Jon Gruden's swagger and offensive prowess. Even with his baggage.. The knock on him is that his act wears thin on the players. Same with Urban. Part of why he thinks of himself as a "turnaround" guy, not a "long-term" guy. The college game might be just right for Gruden since players are typically only there three or four years.

If Fla doesn't actually straighten out their NIL, which a coach doesn't run, they have no chance of hiring a top tier sitting head coach having success in the NIL era. And no one wants to hear about the hypothetical dollars Fla has in the piggy bank, rather the real spent money that retains and attracts players - like Ole Miss has clearly had since the NIL era began.

Man, this is the closest Lane Kiffin’s been to winning a championship and making the playoffs. Why would he leave for a school that’s a mess right now? Florida’s gonna take at least three years to get back on track. By the time Ole Miss wraps up the season, recruiting’s pretty much over. Why would Florida wait on Kiffin to finish a playoff run just to have an incomplete team when he gets there?

Why they are they want to fire every coach and yes everybody is right when they should never fires Dan Mullen but they did like an idiot so that's the people up there in the top top of the tops top saying all the ones that's responsible for the hiring and firing needs to shut up the heck up and pay attention to what's going on cuz this is our future and if y'all leave it alone it's going to be a fine one when they need to be invested in other things coach Napier needs to be our coach and quit making him worried about his job I'm pretty sure he ain't worried about the job he's worried about the kids the future young men of the world and all that and he's got all of them young beginning Young men and starting in this world they need a role model that stable like Coach Napier and on his shoulders give him help he's a Godly Man and I sit there and watch him just because he don't jump up and down and throw no visor or act like a fool or any of that stuff he's a good coach I promise you you let him work out the bugs for a couple more years you'll have a rockstar team hey if you got the Lord and God on with you who's against you

Even if Napier (12-16) won the next 12 games [not 14] at Florida, he would still not have a better winning percentage (24-16, .600) than Ron Zook (23-15, .609)

Napier's Head Coach winning % prior to this year was 66.2% vs Kiffin's 66.4%. Whoopi!! Napier won 2 Sun Belt titles and Lane has 2 in the less impressive Conference USA.
