Billy is not and will never be the right coach for Florida. He cares more about the players character than winning. If he was on a mission then he should have gone to SMU or something. Billy , youre a football coach not a life coach. Heres an idea lets try teaching character and excellence through winning and succeeding. Settling for losing creates the wrong character.

Devils Advocate: Fire Napier $26 million Go get Kiffin $100million Loose this years recruiting class. Loose Lagway, Baugh, Willson, McCray, and several others. Face it is you like a Napier you can’t stand a Kiffin. Plus we graduate several. So we have to spend $25+ million in the portal. Just to field a team. Next year we only have 2 games different than this year. We spend $150+ million for a 2-3 win season. Gator fans talk about how much we shelled out to look that bad. Kiffin’s ego makes him speak out. The fans don’t like him talking trash about the fans and loosing. Florida has to get rid of him after one year. And then what serious coach would come here?

Clem's Gator blog Texas: Every week this season is a new challenge ,obstacles that have to be dealt with. To be honest I'm not over the Ga. game. Beating Ga. runs deep. Any Gator team is judged on if you beat Ga. and fswho. There was a time 2 wins could be considered a successful season if you beat those two. Billy had this team primed and ready to beat the Dawgs. Then Lagway goes down . Even then the team locked arms and gave it their best. Dawgs smelled blood and eventually pulled it out. Great effort, proud of the fight, but Billy and boys needed a win. It would immediately quiet the roar. Here we are the next week with more uncertainty, a greater challenge, a hugh undertaking with half your bullets gone. To be optimistic this is why you come to Florida to play in the S.E.C. I'm really glad UF came out in support of Napier. In this modern day social media atmosphere there are supporters and detractors. At the very least for the players and Napier it relieved the tension and pressure of uncertainty for now. Just go out and play football. Go shock the world. Even better with a 3rd string qb. I've seen enough desire, toughness, coaching,...Gator pride to beat Texas. I have. I watched Gator football for over 60 years and this team has what it takes. We very could be 6-2 , ranked with wins over 2 top 10 teams. We're not but just as easily could be. It didn't happen and may not win another game. That's yet to be seen. I just hope the fire is still there. That they are mad they let it slip away last week and ready to push over the hump. Don't get me wrong. I think Texas is one of the 4 best team in football. I believe these boys can beat them. Coach use to tell us pee wees. Alright boys reach down and squeeze em. If you cry go sit on the bench, if it makes you mad synch up that chin strap real tite and go play football. What you gonna do Gators cry or get mad. Y'all need to stop. The football team isn't the only sport at UF and we have the most successful sports program in the nation. They're not going to fire Stricklin just because of Napier. This is the issue for some of y'all being so hyper focused on one little piece of information that you don't see the bigger picture. Why didn't we have a decision sooner? Because they had boosters ready to pay Billy out until they started to play football. If Billy went for 2 at TN and DJ didn't get hurt with GA we would easily be 6 and 2. If they'd played the way they are now with Miami? Shit, could be a whole different discussion. Bigger picture is they saw the problem and fixed it. It would be stupid to spend 26 mil to get rid of Napier now.

As a Florida graduate and a South Florida graduate I will say it would be nice for some of those boosters to invest in USF. It has been ridiculous what we have watched since 2010 with the exception of the Trask years.

Oh, and this time next year, Stricklin should be fired right along with him.

Napier can’t coach or recruit. Just a bad combination. We’re just gonna be doing this next year. Basically pissing away another season.
