This is The Iron Dome missile defense system first detects and tracks incoming threats within a 100 km range using radar. It then transfers this data to the Battle Management Control system and the Launcher, which relay it to the interceptor.
The system assesses the threat's potential impact points and selectively intercepts rockets that pose a danger within the protected area.
When a specific threat is confirmed, an interceptor missile is launched to destroy the incoming rocket before it reaches the predicted impact area.
The interceptor missile uses its electro-optical sensor to track and target the incoming rockets, aiming to get as close as possible to intercept them effectively.
We will also look at the basic parts of the Tahir and how it works in Step by Step formats and not to forget the short comparison with Quassam and Iranian built Rockets.

I'm saying you always can add more launchers, it's not that expansive as many geniuses think - constant retaliations and wars are much more expansive. This system allows us to contain shootings instead of fighting endlessly, right now we have a good opportunity to end this kind of terrorism once and for all.

Every machine or tech has it's fatigue limit where it can work perfectly until a point. When the machine or anything is being tested beyond that limit, it won't be 100% efficient then, thus someone would say it's a 'failure'. But in this case Iron Dome worked well. If it didn't, the damage would be much higher than this.

A saturation attack will overwhelm the system and essentially render it almost useless. Hamas did just that, launching thousands of rockets in short order,the iron dome could only intercept some,many got through.
It is possible to add more iron domes or (a new development) an iron beam that should be put into operation in 2025

The failure of Iron Dome to protect Israel is a perfect example of complacency as a result of over-reliance / over confidence in a system that appears so invincible.
There is no such thing as a magic bullet.
When I was in the U.S. Air Force, my commanders always told us before every deployment to not be so dependent on a single equipment.
Always have a back up and always think ahead of what would happen if your equipment fails.
In other words, don't let the defense contractors convince you that their weapons are invincible.
No weapon is.
Good advice for all parts of life, not just the military.

Many of them fail to make it to the target. A lot of them end up falling in their own territory. Those that make it are destroyed.
No payload in a missile to fool and empty iron dome launchers before using real ones.Imagine spending 50K $ to destroy a metal tube filled with concrete.Thats how.

Its 80s Patriot missile tech that still works. Iron Dome/Patriot missile systems are overly complex and expensive. If you could incorporate the radar/tracking and "command center" into each missile it would be cost effective and better because currently if the command centers or radar stations are taken out the Iron Dome/Patriot system becomes useless. In the "next gen" missile you would have multiple independent command and radar stations.

avoid making the system A LOT more expensive per interception.
The cost of a patriot missile is already at a point where intercepting most missiles
is incredibly cost-inefficient.
Well that's every long range SAM system though, East and West. A modular system means you can transport and swop out INOP components easily.

The beautiful thing about the interceptor is that he doesn't has any radar (cheaper than what everyone thinks), it's because the projectile trajectory is calculated many times a second, this allows the command center computer with the help of the very sophisticated radar to remotely guide the interceptor exactly to the meeting point.

I think there is a big mistake in this animation. The Tahir or Tamir missile need to have a data link sensor to get feedback from tracking radar via a data link. Only electro-optic sensor is not sufficient and it won't work at all to destroy a rocket.

its radar + mathematics + radio on missile + and stepper motors on missile fins to drive it. its not that difficult , also it will be +50 dollar more for Hamas to make their guide and by pass iron dome not sure why they are not doing it , they just need to install few stepper motors , few dollar micro controller and cheap gps or inertial module and that's all to make it cheap cruise missile.
Israel need a long rang point defense system built around a 155 mm canon using ramjet shells that is guided that is cheaper than missiles. Italy have developed a similar system. The new German air defense artillery is excellent.

You forgot to mention or avoid that it is effective but it could over come it with high number of rocket that it just would be limited to the number of the iron dome rocket and those afterwards could pass easily ( with low cost for qasam they could easily do that and replace thier rocket much faster.

It is important to consider not only the cost of the interceptor, but also the potential damage avoided.
What they do not tell you is the shrapnel that falls after the missle explodes. Israeli sell the shrapnel to tourists. I know, because my friend has a wind chime made from pieces of missile. His wife purchased them while visiting and had them shipped home. Her husband made a wind chime. The pieces are heavy, so it is not a very good wind chime.
