I lost 15lbs in 2 weeks was always thirsty but couldnt even keep down water. I hadn't eaten for 17 days i can go on and on. went to e.r twice and primary physician twice I got no help. They did give me nausea meds but I still felt very nauseous just nothing would come out like I had lid on what wanted to come out. I was in so much pain constantly I thought I was going to die. At some point I started feeling pain in my chest. It was my 3rd pregnancy and didn't even hear of the term hg until after I terminated the pregnancy because I couldnt take it anymore. It hurts so much more to know there is term for what was going on and could've been managed by being hospitalized. Doctors need to take what the patient is saying more serious instead of suggesting freaking ginger. I felt as though people around me thought I was being overly dramatic including the many doctors and nurses I saw since I didnt have anything close to what I was going through with my other pregnancies. HG is so very serious I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm scared to get pregnant again even though its something I want. This video down plays it so much. I commend and envy those strong enough to see it through to the end.
I sympathize with you. I had the same experience today in the Er. I’ve dropped 30 pounds since finding out I am pregnant. The doctor kept on minimizing my symptoms. She brought up her own pregnancies and stated “we all know what it feels like in the first trimester”. I told her I had 2 other kids and never experience what I was during this one. It literally feels like hell. I even sobbed and told her I couldn’t even feel happy at the thought of being pregnant being that I’m in distress morning, noon and night. Craving foods that I’ll never be able to smell let alone eat. I would just like at the sight of food. Couldn’t stand in the shower. Was in my bed for days at a time. Light, sound, touch was nauseating. I to was thinking of throwing in the towel. I thought I had an ectopic pregnancy, but nope baby is right there. Where it’s suppose to be. Why does baby hate me so much. Is what goes through my mind most days. 🥺☹️
My daughter is going through this now and I glad u said something about the pain people really be trying to sugar coat this it’s feel like a cancer patient and my daughter just continue to say she wanted to be unalive it’s so sad to see my child in this pain and with her it’s every baby she has that why u only had my 6 year old grandson she’s not keeping this one she can’t deal with it

HG is serious. Had to take a concoction of meds zofran pump, Picc line for fluids, reglan, delicgis, pheragan suppository, pepic for the heartburn, and tums. Please be sure to add how some moms really suffer. I went through that for 17 weeks and ended up miscarrying, but praise to the most high God that I am currently pregnant again been through the same-thing with this pregnancy with being sick but to the Glory of God my baby will be here in 3 weeks in Jesus Name. I will testify about the goodness of Jesus!
Hyperemesis is far worse than 3x a day. Hyperemesis is 15-30x a day and a weekly if not bi weekly trip to the Er and being hospitalized. The news is sugar coating the reality of hyperemesis. Also, the “ideal diet” part is a joke. Women suffering hg can’t keep anything food or water down at all. It’s a very very debilitating condition.

The doctor finally told her to take vitamin b6 and Unisom for sleeping, the kind that melts in your mouth, because she couldn't keep pills or liquids down and it worked. She was able to eat and drink liquids after that. My granddaughter is 3 years old now.

I agree with everyone this video sugar coats it. I have been struggling with this for 13 weeks now. I really truly wonder if i am going to live or die..due to malnourishment...ive had severe food poisoning before and this is WAY worse. Poor thing. I totally understand you. I cried every single day and night because I was in so much pain for not being able to eat. I was so nauseous, everything triggered the vomiting, everything smelled horrible. I wanted to die, I would pray to God to take my life. I had IV therapy for 5 weeks... It really helped but was super annoying. I'm at 7 months and I still take gravol every day. Dicletin did nothing to help and made it worse. I was so dehydrated taking it and ended up in the hospital.
I had hypermesis pregnancy I couldn’t handle was vomiting more 50 times in 24 hours I wasn’t eating or drinking I was hospitalized 4 times I even wanted to terminate the pregnancy couple time I couldn’t go through terminating had bad depression after 9 months of hell I had my baby she is 11 months old oh god I don’t think am ever going back that horrible experience
Literally HG sucks and is almost as bad as death.......because you feel like you’re literally going to die and it’s terrible....(I’m 5 weeks and 2 days and I have it again for the SECOND time since 2012 and it’s been absolute hell so far) praying for all you mamas out there with HG that we get through it and have healthy happy babies💕

Baby will always be healthy when taking zofran. It’s been medically proven that it causes no harm to the baby. Zofran is healthier for the baby than all the throwing up that happens when having HG!

Anyone suffering from this is a real warrior. I’ve been really nauseous all day long including in my sleep for the past week and I don’t think I can go on like this I’m 7 weeks everything makes me so nauseous I can barley eat and have lost 5 pounds already. I can’t image throwing up on top of that it must be hell. You girls are so 💪 strong and hopefully they can find a way to treat this that actually works.
I am currently 25 weeks pregnant. When I was about 6 weeks pregnant I became extremely ill with non-stop vomiting I could not keep water down. My pregnancy symptoms were extremely bad causing me to go to the ER a total of 3 times between weeks 6-14 and I was admitted to the hospital twice because I kept losing weight and lost a total of 26 pounds. I tried various medications with no success and the suffering was unbearable. Aside from the pregnancy symptoms, I became extremely depressed and anxious. During my 2nd hospital admission, the doctor told me that I needed to reconsider hormone steroids (which I tried to avoid because it could have negative effects on the baby-more so during the 1st trimester). I felt completely hopeless so I decided to use hormone steroids. All medication I tried during pregnancy did not work and I had little hope for this but to my shock, the hormone steroids (a 21 day treatment) actually made me stop vomiting. I began the treatment by injection and then switched to pill form as I was being discharged from the hospital. I was in complete shock that this was working for me and during my darkest times, I was able to see the light. I prayed like I have never prayed before and am extremely grateful to God but also for the creation and the power of medicine that helped me with my extreme sickness. I was able to keep water down and slowly was able to eat. My symptoms did not completely go away but they are no where near what they were. I urge anyone out there diagnosed and suffering with severe hypremesis gravidarium like I was to talk to your doctor about hormone steroids treatment because it changed my pregnancy journey. Don’t get me wrong everyday is still a hit and miss but again no where near what my symptoms were. I pray for all the women suffering during what is supposed to be the most precious and miraculous times. Please do not lose faith, this too shall pass.

Us with hg we just want to drink for out babies and eat for our babies. I het so frustrated. I know coca cola helped me ALOT.

I have HG and it took me getting hospitalized for the doctors to take me seriously about what was going on I had lost 6 lbs my first trimester but gained it in double the start of my second but was still very sick I ended up having to give up my position at work and then by the middle of my 2nd I had to quit the swelling in my body was painful to be on all the time and.my job did not offer a sit down space I still also suffered with HG it wasn't Untill my 30th week I was okay so my oBs took my meds from me and now I'm 35 weeks and am back throwing up again this whole this has been a brake down of how I feel about my self and emotions have been insane with no real help from doctors or understanding they all talk to me like I am dumb or like I have done this before and on top of it my high risk clinic has the need to tell me I'm to fat all the time starting this I was 5"7 at 200 even I was losing wight and getting healthy I also have a very full body type so parts of me will always be big but I don't look unhealthy just very out of shape

After being on zofran for a week and a half i can now finally eat!! Thank you god for zofran!!

I have HG and it took me getting hospitalized for the doctors to take me seriously about what was going on I had lost 6 lbs my first trimester but gained it in double the start of my second but was still very sick I ended up having to give up my position at work and then by the middle of my 2nd I had to quit the swelling in my body was painful to be on all the time and.my job did not offer a sit down space I still also suffered with HG it wasn't Untill my 30th week I was okay so my oBs took my meds from me and now I'm 35 weeks and am back throwing up again this whole this has been a brake down of how I feel about my self and emotions have been insane with no real help from doctors or understanding they all talk to me like I am dumb or like I have done this before and on top of it my high risk clinic has the need to tell me I'm to fat all the time starting this I was 5"7 at 200 even I was losing wight and getting healthy I also have a very full body type so parts of me will always be big but I don't look unhealthy just very out of shape

I have been at my wit end due to severe nausea and vomiting during my second pregnancy and nothing eased my sickness but No to morning sickness tea.
I'm currently in bed possibly have this i ate apple sauce and threw it up
Idk how wtf do this even comes from this is the worst I have had it this is my 3rd my first and second was bad but not this bad this is horrible I can not eat drink anything without throwing up I just don’t know what to do then every single smell makes me sick movement makes me sick wtf please help me the medicines make me sick
