2:08 Great point, there is physically nothing you can do, except to trick the people to go harder when they don't want to.
It's amazing because its so much painful at the end and everyone wants to slow it and as a cox you can just totally feel the mess,
so its really crazy like she says to get them to focus back up try to block the pain, and keep exploding.
Rowing is awesome, really looking forward to talking to my coach about being a cox.

varsity coxswain here! if don’t know if you are still looking for help, but Cox Talks with Kat Sheffler on youtube is a great resource! the short and snarky coxswains also wrote a great book about coxing.

I've been doing it for 3 years now. Make sure you keep straight lines, beware of your course, make a plan, segment the race into smaller segments and always talk
