It worked for me! Like somebody else commented, you can use spaces. Just create a new profile with the name you want to use. Open the SII file for the new profile, scroll down to the name and and make sure you type the name exactly as it is in the new SII into the old profile SII. Then just copy the hex name of the new profile with the name you want, then rename your old profile hex name with the new profile hex name. And that’s it, works like a charm. And now I have duplicate saves so I probably might use one for mods that might/will significantly alter the game. Or for multiplayer. Perfect. Thank you.
Thanks for the tutorial! It helped me with not having the need to constantly swap out mods. I had a current profile that usually runs a total of 37 mods. I'm not sure if I understand what you're asking. A profile is not really bound to an email address. Another way your profile can be connected with an email address is when you use World of Trucks (for external contracts). You have to copy your profile and give it another name (for your daughter), as instructed in this video and copy that profile to your daughter's PC. Or let her use that profile on the same PC. Just copying the save is probably going to give issues. But I'm not 100% sure.
By copying the entire profile folder, aren't you essentially duplicating it? However, this results in having two identical profiles with the exact same name. To address this, I demonstrate how to change the profile name, involving the process of converting it into a hexadecimal code and then renaming the folder accordingly.
i have a problem which first I can't find the profile in "profiles" I find it in the "steam_profiles" second when I opened the newest modified there's no profile.sii
The reason why you can't find that profile is that you're probably using Steam Cloud Saving, don't you? If that is the case, you first need to open the game, go to the profile settings of the profile you want to copy and deactivate Steam Cloud saving. Then start that profile and save manually. That will save that profile in the right place on your hard drive. You can now copy that profile. Afterwards, you can reactivate the cloud saving, if you want.
Actually, the same way as described in this video. You take your existing profile and make a copy of it and rename it. That or the old profile can be used as a mod profile and the other is a clean one or the other way around. But you can also make a new profile and boost that one so that you have maximum level, all skills unlocked, all garages owned and upgraded and a whole bunch of money. I'll create a video for that one and will publish it later this week.
Has anyone else tried this with game version 1.50? I did everything the exact same way when copying my ETS2 Profiles, but this time its just not working
@@Martin_V8 Thanks for the extra feedback. Indeed, I try to come up with names myself that do not contain - or _ or any other symbol for that matter. It's hard to help from a distance because I don't see or know what exactly you did. Let us start at the beginning and let me ask this: do you use the Steam cloud saving or not?
Did not work for me. Did everything in the video and have now two files in the Profile folder but when I open the game, I still have only one profile. What to do?
If it didn't work, then you missed something in the video. It works 100%. Probably you've done something wrong with the renaming of the folder through that hex code application but that is hard to tell, there I can't see what you've done. 😉
Hi I have a problem with Your guide. I do as You showed, step by step. I have no spaces in the name, just like You, I encode the HEX name. The difference is that Your files are in My Documents, and for mine in Steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[MyUsercode]\227300 emote\profiles). After starting the game, despite 4 folders with profiles, the game only sees 3 profiles. Do You know what could be the reason? Currently, I walked around the problem a bit - I created a new profile in the game, replaced the save, config files and the modified profile file in the new folder and it works. However, I would like to know how to quickly edit profiles with Steam and Steam Cloud saving. My game version: 1.40.5.1s.
Your profiles have to be in the documents folder on your C drive. The location you're talking about is not what I show in the video. Most probably that location shows that you have profiles through cloud saving. If you have a profile that you want to change but is located on the cloud, you need to start that profile (in-game), go to the profile settings and edit them. Turn cloud saving off. Start that profile. when in-game, save the game so that it gets relocated from the cloud to your profiles folder on your C drive in the documents section. If you have done that, you can copy that profile and give it another name. When done, you can go into the old or new profile settings and turn on cloud saving again. Your game will then be saved in the cloud again and not in documents on your C drive.
@@ArrowsRealm I understand. So I suspected the fault might be on the Steam cloud save side. Thanks for the quick reply. Of course it flies 👍 both for help and fantastic instruction;)
@@ArrowsRealm I do everything the same but in my map of ets2 there are a lot of backup maps I didn't make myself, the profile is also linked with world of trucks.
@@fasteastmove Everybody has those backup folders. Those folders are created every time a new update got released. You do not need any of those backup folders. You only need the folder that is called "profiles". In there you have 1 or more profile folders, depending of the amount of profiles you already have in-game. It becomes easy when you only have 1 profile folder. If you have more then you need to figure out which one you want to copy. You can do that by going into the game, start the wanted profile and make a manual save. That way you will be able to see the last save date in your file manager on your computer. The fact that the profile is connected to World of Trucks, doesn't matter at all. What does matter is whether your profile saves into the Steam Cloud or not. For this copying to work, you need to disable cloud saving for a bit. Unable it, start profile and make a manual save. Go to the file manager and copy the profile. The moment everything is done, you can go activate cloud saving again on your old and new profile.
@@fasteastmove That is not possible. If you follow the video, you should be able to copy your profile. From a distance it's hard to say what's going wrong or what you're doing wrong but not being able to copy your profile is just not possible. If you'd like, you can contact me on our Discord community server and you can share your screen while you're doing what you're doing. That way I'll be able to tell you where it's going wrong.
bro please help me.. in my case its not working.. i have done everything that you showed in this video but its not showing in the profile section. its showing again the old profile..
There is definitely something going wrong then. Okay, first of all ... do you save your profiles on the hard drive or do you use the Steam Cloud saving? You can check that in the game when you go to your profile. If the box is checked next to "Steam Cloud Saving" (or something similar) then you're using cloud saving. First, answer this, then we can go a step further.
@@ArrowsRealm bro the profile is showing in the game but whenever I am trying to use it.... It's showing incompatible and also showing that dlc are missing.. Could you please help me with those dlc. I downloaded many dlc but they are not compatible with the game.. And thank you for replying brother.
@@prime8257 Are you trying to use a profile that you wonloaded somewhere? Because from what I canread, it certainly seems so. Also ... "incompatible because of missing DLCs"??? You are probably talking about mods, right? If it is your own profile (save game) then it would be weird that it is incompatible because of DLCs missing. DLCs are always there! This is getting a bit complicated. I'm afraid your now talking about multiple other things that are going on and this is a tutorial video to copy and rename an already existing save game (=profile). What is it you need help with???
@@ArrowsRealm I downloaded the profile form somewhere else.. And that is why it is showing incompatible.... Sorry... Then I have to start again from the beginning... Never heard of this before. This seems like an annoying issue. Are you using Windows? If yes, are you using cloud saving with Microsoft's OneDrive? The only thing I can think of is that everything got synced with the OneDrive Cloud and therefore is not really deleted from your hard drive.
No. That probably means that you have Steam Cloud saving activated?! Turn that off in your profile settings in-game, start the profile you want to copy and save it immediately after starting. That way the game will save that profile into the profiles documents/eurotrucksimulator2/profiles folder on your hard drive. Only then this copying trick is going to work.
There must be something that you didn't do 100% according to the video because what I'm showing, works 100%. From a distance, it's hard to tell what is going wrong for you, of course. 🤔 Are you sure your profiles are saved on your hard drive and not in the Steam Cloud?
@@ArrowsRealm nope i did everything like the video showed the only thing i needed to do that the video didn't show as to change the creation date, dont ask why but worked after that also you can use quotations marks to create a profile name with spaces just dont put the quotation marks on the hex text coverter
I would suggest trying to copy that profile and in that copied profile you disable all the mods (after selling all garages that have nothing to do with Europe/base game) and all vehicles/trailers that are also mod related. Then you start that profile and if all goes well, you have your profile for the base game with the base European map (+ maybe map expansions).
What do you mean? Deactivating Steam Cloud is not going to change anything to your game files. The only thing you need to do then is saving the game so that there can be a save file created on your hard drive. Then you can work with that save game. If you thick that box again and save the game, you will have a save game on the Steam cloud again.
That is not possible. Your already saved game file can't be gone. It is or on your Steam Cloud or on your hard drive. Something is going wrong somewhere, but it is hard to tell what exactly. Many people already used my methods and nobody had his/her save files deleted.
Are you using Steam Cloud Saving? If yes, you won't find your saves at the location mentioned in the video. You need to go into your profile edit screen, uncheck the box next to Steam Cloud Saving, start your game and save it. Only then you're going to find the save games in Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ Profiles/...
That means that your game is saved in the Steam Cloud. You need to deactivate the cloud saving in the profile settings, start that profile and save the game. That way, your game will be saved on your hard drive in the profile folder. When everything is done, you can reactivate cloud saving, if you'd like.
@@gofree5977 This guide still works, man. Many before you and even after you accomplished to copy their profiles with the use of this guide. I am interested, though, in what the complicated issue and fix is?! Can you please shine a light on it so I can make a better or more complete guide? That would be awesome!
@@ArrowsRealm Sorry for the late reply. I followed other guide similar to this, except needed to do extra modification, including create a new profile named what you wish to. Then go into new profile game and quit, this operation will trigger once autosave. There are two files named game.sii and info.sii under autosave folder both in old,new profile. If you want game running normally(no game level, money and experience lost) after copying files to new profile(remember to record some numbers in new profile game.sii and info.sii before overriding files), so you also need to decrypt these two files and modify some strings in old profile's files consistent with new profile. After all done above, make sure you can run game OK with new named profile then you can delete old profile folder, enjoy your game lastly.

You have to copy your profile and give it another name (for your daughter), as instructed in this video and copy that profile to your daughter's PC. Or let her use that profile on the same PC. Just copying the save is probably going to give issues. But I'm not 100% sure.
Hey friend. Isn't it possible to just copy and paste the inside of the profile folder to a new profile's folder?
By copying the entire profile folder, aren't you essentially duplicating it? However, this results in having two identical profiles with the exact same name. To address this, I demonstrate how to change the profile name, involving the process of converting it into a hexadecimal code and then renaming the folder accordingly.
@@ArrowsRealm oh yes I got it now. Thanks a lot man, I needed it for promods.
@@HansaGBB You are welcome.
I know wrong topic, but does someone know where to get Custom interior for a good price?
You guys are fit and I maybe get here an answer....
i have a problem which first I can't find the profile in "profiles" I find it in the "steam_profiles" second when I opened the newest modified there's no profile.sii
@@ArrowsRealm oh ye i forgot to click apply after changing the cloud steam my bad
@@ArrowsRealm also afterward do i take out the sii decrypt?
@@Hiskoto You can leave it in there.
Can you make a video about “how to create mod profile for ets2 1.36”??
Actually, the same way as described in this video. You take your existing profile and make a copy of it and rename it. That or the old profile can be used as a mod profile and the other is a clean one or the other way around. But you can also make a new profile and boost that one so that you have maximum level, all skills unlocked, all garages owned and upgraded and a whole bunch of money. I'll create a video for that one and will publish it later this week.
@@ArrowsRealm ok man i am waiting!’
Has anyone else tried this with game version 1.50? I did everything the exact same way when copying my ETS2 Profiles, but this time its just not working
It still works 100%. I didn't have to test it to know, but I did anyway. Works like a charm.

Yes, you can.
@@ArrowsRealm ok thank you :)
I don't know what mistakes I am making, I did everything that was shown in the video, but i can't see my changed profile anywhere in the game
@@ArrowsRealm Don't know what I did differently this time, but it worked! Dank je wel!
@@kedebew I'm glad to hear that it all worked out for you. 👍
Hi
I have a problem with Your guide. I do as You showed, step by step. I have no spaces in the name, just like You, I encode the HEX name.
The difference is that Your files are in My Documents, and for mine in Steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[MyUsercode]\227300
emote\profiles).
@@KuzynDzony You're welcome, buddy. 🧡
for me it doesn't work i've done execly the same only my profile starts with 6D and it goes on dont't know what to do.
It has to work. If it doesn't, you're overlooking something. Can you give me some more info, please? Where exactly does it go wrong?
@@ArrowsRealm then I'm doing everything right normally like in the video.
Thx!👍
You're welcome.
bro please help me.. in my case its not working.. i have done everything that you showed in this video but its not showing in the profile section. its showing again the old profile..

Can i play 1.39 version save game in 1.41 version of ETS2?
That should be possible but the moment the game saves automatically or you save manually, it isn't a 1.39 save file anymore.
Profiles folder is empty but steam profiles is not empty, is it all the same?
No. That probably means that you have Steam Cloud saving activated?! Turn that off in your profile settings in-game, start the profile you want to copy and save it immediately after starting. That way the game will save that profile into the profiles documents/eurotrucksimulator2/profiles folder on your hard drive. Only then this copying trick is going to work.
ive done all the steps various times and its not working for me
There must be something that you didn't do 100% according to the video because what I'm showing, works 100%.
From a distance, it's hard to tell what is going wrong for you, of course. 🤔
Are you sure your profiles are saved on your hard drive and not in the Steam Cloud?
@@ArrowsRealm nope i did everything like the video showed the only thing i needed to do that the video didn't show as to change the creation date, dont ask why but worked after that also you can use quotations marks to create a profile name with spaces just dont put the quotation marks on the hex text coverter
My profile now in Bangladesh map and mod but how to change it to Europe mod?
I would suggest trying to copy that profile and in that copied profile you disable all the mods (after selling all garages that have nothing to do with Europe/base game) and all vehicles/trailers that are also mod related. Then you start that profile and if all goes well, you have your profile for the base game with the base European map (+ maybe map expansions).
THANK YOUUUUU
You're welcome!
How do I now send that profile to a friend, if there is any way?
Just send that folder of the profile by using f.e. WeTransfer. First make a zip or far file of the folder.
I untick the Steam Cloud and my game file disappearing. Thank you
What do you mean? Deactivating Steam Cloud is not going to change anything to your game files. The only thing you need to do then is saving the game so that there can be a save file created on your hard drive. Then you can work with that save game.
If you thick that box again and save the game, you will have a save game on the Steam cloud again.
@@ArrowsRealm I just uncheck the "Steam Cloud" and when I hit "Save", game file just disappearing and asked me to create a new profile
That is not possible. Your already saved game file can't be gone. It is or on your Steam Cloud or on your hard drive. Something is going wrong somewhere, but it is hard to tell what exactly.
Many people already used my methods and nobody had his/her save files deleted.
it says its failed when i disable steam cloud
What is saying that it failed and when is it saying that. I'm afraid I can't help you if I don't get any more information than this.
my saves are all emty but ingame they are still there..

Hi.....thx a lot.

Yes, you can.
What if my profile folder is empty?
That means that your game is saved in the Steam Cloud. You need to deactivate the cloud saving in the profile settings, start that profile and save the game. That way, your game will be saved on your hard drive in the profile folder. When everything is done, you can reactivate cloud saving, if you'd like.
My profile name is changed but level is zero, what's wrong?
