Lots of people who have motorhomes tow a small car, jeep, or truck behind them so that they have a vehicle when they get to their destination. They need a space to hitch or unhitch them before or after leaving the campsite.
Hitching spot used for taking the tow vehicle off of the back of your camper. That said, you could technically do what yall mentioned, where you stopped in the hitching spot to remove your sway bars and etc ahead of time, but you could also just do that when you unhitch at your actual campsite. ❤
32:58 My last horse ride was at Fort Wilderness many years ago! I had a horse named “Patches” who had just been put on a diet! He kept going to the bushes for a snack! 😮
Great overview video with nice details about things to do and what the campgrounds offer. Love the new Cabins, and the point charts are mostly very reasonable except for the months of February, March and April. Points per night are in the high 20's to high 30s. But you could go as low as 16 points per night, so this jump in points is substantial. Definitely need to do your research before planning a trip if you want to stay here. Ashamed they don't include the washer and dryer, it seems that it's the only thing missing to make it absolutely perfect.
It may be time to purchase that second summer home in Monterey, California. It will be nice and cool. You will have very little heat and humidity. Enjoy your run!
Not a runner, unfortunately (my first hero was Wilma Rudolph). Fantasised about jumping neighbour’s hedges on way to school. ;). But have more recently taken idyllic walk from boat landing to registration at fort wilderness. It was so peaceful, such a memorable part of Wdw vacay. Lovely area and getaway.
The pull off area is for motor homes to hook up their tow vehicle. A lot will have jeeps or small cars, even some trucks. We towed our van when we had a moyorhome. Toy haulers, which we have now, will pull over there to unload their golf carts, then proceed to their site. It’s just easier to hitch and unhitch there as the loops are just to tight and to busy. We have rv camped at the Fort about 7x and are finally DVC members. Oct will be our first stay in the cabins. The Fort is hopping in the fall and Christmas. It’s actually been hard to get a spot in Oct and Xmas. We’ve had to use 2 computers on the first day they open those dates. So it looks empty now but other times of the year it’s packed. So packed you can’t find parking for your cart. They end up doing overflow in the grass for carts and trailers that pulled them. Easter and Halfway to Halloween is big too. I see some cabins have a closet at the end of the hall. I wish they added a dresser for the Murphy bed area like the old cabins had. It looks like they forgot about the extra sleepers. But you all did a fantastic job ❤
The hitching and unhitching area is for Class A, B, & C (driving) campers that are towing a car behind it. You can't back up a driving unit with a vehicle attached, so you unhitch it first.
Pretty cool you basically get a isolated one bedroom cabin for low points at Disney world, maybe too isolated for some. It’s a nice disconnect but for the annual dues it’s really unappealing
3:14 What a minute... New York Beer Project???? Just opened their newest location in Orchard Park. NY REPRESENT!!! And I disagree on your running preferences. Nothing beats a run at night with gentle snow falling, village street lights illuminating your way, and the cadence of crunch as each footstep lands in snow.
I’d be curious where you put the coffee table and if maybe that single chair be moved somewhere with the Murphy bed down. I just don’t see how you could walk around with that bed down…

I would do a staycation here now that im about to be local 👍so I can bring the pup 🐶
The unhitch area is to remove your extra vehicle or a golf cart from a drivable rv. It is not to unhitch your rv.
Amy, great idea about the food delivery!
Pretty sure the hitch/unhitch is for RV's towing a car, in which case you'd unhitch the car, and then drive both to the campsite.
Great second day, Amy and Paul 😃
Nice lighting touch where canoes are ceiling lights
Hey guys, I live close to Cambridge, Ohio. I know you are from Wheeling and Paul worked at New Philly at one time. It's a small world.

Still not seeing the cabins as a DVC product, but love Fort Wilderness as a whole.

Makes perfect sense and now I feel like I should have figured that out. Thank you! Also, appreciate your kind words.

Thanks for sharing

We also have three dogs!! All small ones - maybe they could do a weight limit!! 😂😂
Wait limit would be great, but we would need around a 185 Ibs allotment of dog weight. lol

I'm good with all the smaller sleeping surfaces as I'm 5'5". Sometimes it is good to be short 😅

We have one in Winter Garden! It’s a great place- especially those giant cheese logs.
Also, if I ran on snow I would bust my rear end. lol

The hitch and unhitch is for your car that is towed behind your trailer/rv.
Ohhhhhh So you drive the car over and it’s not for the actual camper or RV.
Got it, thanks!

Please tell me you guys slept in the bunk beds 41:35
Did Paul use paper maps, phone apps, read signage, or just use The Force to guide his golf carting?

F***ing love Hoop Dee Doo 🎉
Also the second tent loop is very small not big like the first one
How could you not like pickled beets Amy? At least Paul holds up your family's beets fan
It could be to unhitch your car if you are driving and RV and Towing your car behind the RV
Any idea about the layout of accessible cabins?
shout out to Akron Canton!
Are there cabins that are dedicated for pets and others that are dedicated to be pet free?
Question, does bell services take care of luggage to and fro?
Tent camping is not primitive camping. They have two tent loops and a primitive camping section for scouts and such.
Squirrel !
More chicken!!! More chicken!!
You’ll have to stop eating the “potato barrels “, eventually. ;)
No chipmunks in FL probably squirrels
Chip and Dale would say you are wrong!
Disney putting chain style blinds in new construction in areas they know families will be sleeping with children... Big miss on safety i think.
I don’t understand why people feel the need to run at all. I haven’t “ran” since 1986.
No sense or grace to new cabins. What the heck were they thinking, that it was a science experiment?😅
