Speaking of the former pool bar-now-spa building ... yes there is a spa in there. One time (prepandemic) I made an appointment for a haircut (always fun to get a haircut at Disney) - done in the salon in that building. So there you have it! 🙂
I just stayed at Copper Creek for a couple of nights and loved it! I could not believe that something that close to the magic kingdom could be so peaceful!
Absolutely favorite resort all around. We have been DVC members at W.L. since 2001. Our first taste of W.L. was a dining visit for the Pooh and friends character breakfast at Artist Point in 1999 while staying at Grand Floridian. We fell in love! Came back in 2000 to the main hotel as the DVC wing was being built and set our sights on our future “home.” ❤️
My family and I stayed there last August. We wanted to stay at Animal Kingdom, but we're extremely happy that we chose Wilderness Lodge. It's amazing. Can't wait to stay there again.
My parents bought DVC at the Boardwalk, which I love...BUT, there is nothing like being able to stay at Wilderness Lodge. It is absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend staying there when you can. It's very relaxing and still pretty easy access to Magic Kingdom. I would love to stay at Christmas!!!
Our family was there last week and the building by the pool is an activity center with very limited hours. The salon was either removed or is somewhere else. We loved this resort and the lobby music is by far the best from any other resort.
I stayed at BR two weeks ago. Unfortunately I was not in a refurbished room but my view was fabulous! I arrived at night and was able to watch the water pageant from my balcony. What a welcome!!
We have our first stay at Boulder Ridge coming up! I can’t wait. The refurb looks beautiful. I completely agree that you feel transported to another place when you stay at Wilderness Lodge. After last week’s episode, I’m keeping my eye on Boulder Ridge resale contracts. Thank you for this episode, it’s great! Timing is great with our upcoming stay.
One question, Which resort would you recommend buying if you were to always book inside the 7 month window or even sooner? I am willing to sometimes gamble and see if I can get a weekday Boardwalk or VGF reservation 2 months out in low season. I do not plan that much ahead, never 11 months out.
My first experience staying at a DVC resort was Copper Creek and I was so impressed I almost bought in. I mean I still want to buy Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge but I continue to talk myself out of it
@@williamweston1655 you're kidding me? For complementing someone's hair, you get creepiness? Do you realize that I'm saying her hair has good body and it's thick as in full. I'm not speaking about anything other than her hair!!! There are shampoos that are advertised as giving hair better body and making hair fuller.
also reunion station should be opened as a Community hall and not just sitting empty or used very rarely for crafts. Those are the only gripes about BRV/CCV.
There are only 2 2 bedroom lock-offs on the first floor, most are on higher floors. We had a 2 bedroom lock-off on the 5th floor, it connects to a studio with walk in shower.
I like watching your channel, been dvc members for about 12 years, but regardless of which hotel you are talking about its the cast members that make it special, with out them there is no magic that we love, so why aren't you talking about the abysmal treatment disney is doing to them?
Y’all covered so many things I have loved about WL. I will add two: one is that it truly does feel like a nice cool & green oasis from the Florida heat, especially in months like August. (I’m old enough that the old John Denver song “Cool & Green & Shady” starts playing in my head when I’m there!) We are also adoptive grandparents of a 5-yr-old boy and here’s my favorite thing that I wanted to share with other parents of young children! The fact that you can boat right over to MK is awesome in and of itself. But what’s even more awesome is that you can roll the stroller right onto and off of the boat with the child in it!! No collapsing and hoisting the stroller like you have to do on the buses!! The child(ren) get to enjoy the boat ride from the comfort of their stroller and it’s one less transportation hassle for the parents! 👏
It’s my dream to own at copper creek someday! As I get older, it’s starting to feel like that’s how it will remain though. It’s got to the point that just surviving is barely manageable financially. I would love to visit Disney yearly but prices and the cost of living are making it a once in ten years trip for me… maybe even longer. I’m a dreamer, and I’m gunna hold onto that dream! It’s gotta happen someday.

We tried the contemporary once and my family and I were not nearly as happy. Taking the boat up and back from the magic kingdom every day is very special.

I believe the fireplaces are on the 4th floor? We were on that floor and took our Christmas morning photos by that fireplace. Maybe 5th? Can't remember lol. It was great!
Artists point was a gem before switch, but always seemed to be empty, understand change but with updated rooms, that location should be pushed, our family loves wilderness lodge just not old shitty rooms😮.
I was able to get 3 nights last May at CC studio at 7 months. Matter of fact 3 nights appear in my experience easy to get within 7 months, last January we got 3 nights at poly which is the 3 Rd time in the last 4 years we booked at poly. And we also got 5 nights at GF studio last May. We own AK, RR and SSR ( SSR sleep around pts).

I walked the path from FW to WL and miss that, watch Paging Mr Morrow, he did a Christmas show at the cabins I believe.
The old pool bar was called Trout Pass Bar!! We actually have some awesome fish shaped koozies from there. Dearly missed…

SSR or a 2057 OKW. Even AKL is a bargain right now.

I’m flattered! I switched to bar shampoo and conditioner a year ago, better for my hair and the environment. Glad to know it’s working!

I may have "misheard" but did you say all CC studios are on the first floor? So, are all 2-bedroom lock-offs also on first floor only?
Just all the deluxe studios that have a bathtub except the special corner rooms. The deluxe studios with walk in showers are on the other floors.

There are only 2 2 bedroom lock-offs on the first floor, most are on higher floors. We had a 2 bedroom lock-off on the 5th floor, it connects to a studio with walk in shower.
