As of 2021 I am still finding what the others miss with a Coinmaster GT with stock, Prizm shooter and Bigfoot coils.

I own Tesoro and Whites detectors, and it would be a shame if another American metal detecting company shuttered it’s doors. Hopefully, Garrett can incorporate White’s technology with theirs and continue to produce top-notch Made-in-USA detectors.

Hey Billy! Yeah, Garrett intentions are very good and will take whites patents and trade secrets and either incorporate it into Garrett machines or reintroduce certain whites models with whites and Garrett technologies. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the very near future.

@@craigtalley eh, you do get what you pay for nowadays, however garrett does offer some decent technology for their pricepoints. Ive have owned Whites,Minelab,Fisher,Nokta Makro MD's all have their strength and weaknesses, some do better than others. For me personally i believe its the user that needs to know how to operate the machine and needs to be very familiar with the functions of their toys to maximize depth,masking,discrim,notching,etc...even Minelab has their strength and weaknessess, no machine is perfect and, no machine is built for all soil mineralizations otherwise we would all have the same machine. Southerland,WIlliams,Hoagland,Massey,White,Garrett all said the same thing. The higher end or (Overpriced machines) to me is just overkill and just plain old nuts to spend that much on a machine, but hey! if you have the extra cash without mortgaging your house then go for it, more of a bragging right - i think. anyways thanks for the input and enjoy hunting this fall!

Their still old and new whites and garrett out their making a bundle for their owners.their still great for.coin hunting, relic hunting,Gold hunting,Their is a learning curve you are what your machine is with the technology you master your machine and they produce big time still and money is no factor.just keep harvesting the crop. The more you put into it the more fun you have.the technology they made back then and now.are just as relivent today.what we need is a good whites and garrett parts store.to keep these timeless classics functioning.

Greetings from Rochester NY. It was a sad day in my house when I heard that Whites was shutting its doors.
I use the MX Sport, 2 MX7’s, Treasure Pro, Treasure Master and Coin Master.
I have since purchased an Apex and AT Pro. I like the Garrett machines but they aren’t Whites. At least there is one American company producing detectors. I just can’t get myself to purchase a Nox or a Simplex.
    Happy Hunting

Hi Jerry. No new news about Garretts new GoldMaster yet? btw, I was reading that they tested the new machine in South America. Garrett said that they made a breakthrough in VLF tech. Something about the delay being ten times faster than any other VLF. (I think) Something like that.
Garrett said that they looked for the worst terrain possible. They found someplace where even PI machines were having trouble. The Garrett worked great! You know, I am thinking that the delay in the machines release may be due to Garrett waiting on Patents for their new technology.

Hi Jerry. When this newfangled Garrett VLF comes out, it will prob retail for around 600 or 700, the same as other high end VLFs. If you need (another?) VLF, this might work for you. Just dont expect it to rival Garretts 2000+ ATX.

One guy told me it's JAMD ( JUST ANOTHER METAL DETECTOR). ONE Thing I appreciated about whites ,is that it was privately owned, unlike minelab and other corporate entities that are publicly owned and have a fiduciary responsibility to make a profit to it's shareholders, so naturally you're gonna see a crazy pricetag markup hence the crazy pricetag of $3000 for a machine, it's insane that a machine would command such a price especially when all that is in there a circuit board with chips and soldering. Anyways,my point is whites made some really good machines at a reasonable price point, just like nokta Makro they too are a privately owned company owned by one man only, that's why there pricing is so competitive with their competitors.

Yeah me too,but Garrett took in their proprietary technology secrets and products that were in development,in fact whites was just going to release an equinox killer, prior to shutting is doors, but decided not to release it and sold that Garrett, so I'm sure Garrett will be releasing something soon to compete with the equinox but with the Garrett name , but behind the scenes it was whites idea and Garrett I'm sure will have added some of their Garrett finesse.

Hi Jerry. Well, it's going on August now. Still no word about the 24K's release. I think that Garrett has hit some design snags because of the delay. For example, thier coils on the ATX leak. They might be rebuilding thier coils.
Im not a big fan of Garretts. They tend to build thier machines like tanks. (read heavy). They like to use nonstandard headphone jacks sometimes too.
Im kind of wary about using VLF tech in heavily mineralized soil/rocks.
But i must admit, this might be a good machine at a good price.
Sort of a PI machine, but with descrimination. I would pay for this.
Garrett should put a ferrous/nonferrous meter on thier Sea Hunter II. Not everyone enjoys cleaning up ghe beaches of trash.
No prepress release about the 24K yet.
Strange. Maybe Garrett has changed the release date to around Christmas?
They are going to put White's logo on the machine? How retarded is this? Nothinv like trying to confuse people! Just like the Nokta/Makro nonsense.
I'm in Kingman. Maybe we can get together for a hunt sometime. I know where there are lots of metiorites near here too.

I think the problem whites machine weights, the detectors themselves. so they did not find a sale on the market. only series. They used to make beautiful machines like old gold master 2 master 3, Prizm, Classic.

That detector was a big mistake to release actually. Detectors are going to sell in the following order.
    1. Coin/jewelry detector (most sales)
    2. Submersible detector
    3. Gold detector (least sales)

I'm surprised that Garrett didn't go out of business years ago. Garrett literally has nothing even close to being competitive on the market.
I sure miss Whites; V3I, (4) DFX, XLT here.
