Perfect weapon. Cold hammer forged barrel is made perfectly. My favorite is the SM 12 SX, 8x68S caliber. RWS 8x68 S EVO is very good 13.0 g ammunition.

I haven`t been into Steyr rifles for quite a while,but it seems to be an original "Kippmontage" (=slide mount)as provided by the Steyr factory.Back in the days before CNC machining you could buy original S-M swing mounts,of the same general specifications & operation as German Ernst Apel mounts but with a slightly different design which corresponded slightly more graciously with the S-M receiver.-Nowadays however gunsmiths have been replaced w/algorithms(well not really but they are slowly going the way of the dodo-rgrettably.)

What brand of scope mounts do you have installed on your Steyr? I own a 9.3x62 Steyr Classic with the Mannlicher stock and love it's performance.
