    I have the Rockshox Recon RL as well and it makes that sound as well with -4 clicks of rebound. I seen somewhere that this is common with this fork. I used the Rockshox Trail Head app and for my weight (200lbs with my gear on) it needs 120lbs psi and -4 clicks of rebound. Simply turning down the rebound may eliminate the noise some but it will not be set up properly for the riders intended weight. I will just deal with the "whoosh" noise.

    fox forks have this squish sound and im actually a fan of it. i can hear my forks working and everytime ive got them set up, theyve come back to me with the rebound set to make this noise (i told the shop i do a lot of jumps and harsh landings aswell as trials)

    😑its just the oil for the rebound dont a just the rebound for the sound you need it you dont want a pogo stick or jour fork not comback fast for the next drop

    Rockshox in general make that squishy sound, even the high end part of their line, my 2022 Pike Ultimate does it. I have a new 2023 Lyrik on order which has the buttercups (a 2023 upgrade) that should eliminate the squishy sound. We'll see.

    So it’s suppose to make this noise because it’s slowing down the rebound. Now everyone is opening the rebound wide open so they don’t hear any noise but have now made the fork most likely incorrect for their weight.

    • @MichianaMadman
      @MichianaMadman  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It won’t change what weight the fork has been set to, just how quickly it returns to position.

    Do yourself a favor and ditch that fork and find yourself a good deal on a used Fox fork. I switched the forks on both of my Fuses and it made the bike so much better. I have the Fox rhythm 34 130mm on my fuses. The rhythm is an OEM fork that most of the higher end completes come with and people like to upgrade and you can typically find them used for around $250-300 used in great condition unless you just buy a brand new fork. Changing the fork and the wheelset really makes a huge difference in these bikes and they can rip. I highly suggest upgrading the fork.

      @@MichianaMadman they’re out there. Like I said, you cannot go wrong with a Fox fork. I have to ask though, how did you crack your 27.5? Do you recall? I just picked up this one recently and haven’t really had much time to ride it yet, however I Did happen to notice that this 2020 frame says ‘a1 aluminum’ vs my 2016 fuse that says ‘M4 premium aluminum’ so I’m hesitant to ride the a1 as hard as I usually. Do you remember how yours cracked or what caused it?

    • @MichianaMadman
      @MichianaMadman  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was right on the weld and Specialized said they were having recurrent issues at the same spot. It wasn’t from a crash but just riding.

    Nope. Air is getting in the damper lower leg. Try tightening the 15mm nut on the damper side. If that doesn’t do it, flip the bike over, have a new crush washer for the damper side nut, remove nut, add new crush washer with some SRAM butter or Slick Honey, retorque to spec. Then, as one small 1/5 turn to that. That should seal up the leg.
