great point about the dinner/tea thing buck. our family always said teas ready, but now its dinner, not sure when it happened. always knew what was what because mum would say, "come over for a tea" or "come over for tea"
Well done mate! I remember Steve Holloway, you got a good memory. Yes, I went over to UK in 1988, as you said. That same tree that ran at you also ran at me on my Subj 2 course, lol - Puckapunyual madness. My jack ration of choice back in the day was - copious amounts of 2 minute noodles, lol
21:55 The USSR formally dissolved on 26 Dec 1991. While I was serving with UNTSO in '92-'93 the Soviet officers seconded to UNTSO received their new country patches denoting the Russian Federation. Wisely, they were only allowed to serve as BOXMOs, rather than UNMOs in the Nahariya Recreation House, The Israel side for HQ OGL - Observer Group Lebanon. They were poorly paid and Vog Bogdan - I'll never forget his name - was often sighted fishing off the beaches, trying to catch dinner or an all day breakfast.
14:10 I'm sure that same old granny was responsible for gluing the lolly wrappers to the lollies. I also suspect that she was responsible for the chocolate turning from dark brown to a white-ish light brown.
Morning Buck nice to see you back on the beach. My mum used to call us when it was time for our tea (dinner). The contents of the pack look good, I'm not a great lover of tea I would have to take my own coffee either instant or bags. As of 1st of October 2023 the possession (as a civilian) of Hexamine in ANY concentration became illegal with a maximum sentence for possession of 2 years and/or a fine. The military are still issued with them and the hexi burners. for us civies there are other gels available but not as good. I know that a lot of squaddies carry Jet boils or similar in their kit to heat the meals.
Great video Buck, looking forward to seeing the next one. I guess the companies making these products would supply the NATO military countries hence the different languages.
Buck thats a great assortment and a good menu. 24hr Rat Packs for me in the early 80s consisted of mostly canned food, Spaghetti, Baked Beans, Irish Stew etc along with some dehydrated things like potato flakes and hard crackers, Marmite and jam, chocolate, boiled lollies, tea and coffee etc.
No sweetened condensed milk 😢no scouring pad🤬and no FRED I know there’s no cans but they are multi purpose, the big elastic band came in very handy as well. Love the chair 👍👍very clever and location location location No1 millionaires row . 👁️👁️😎😇🐕🦺❤️🇦🇺

Hey Buck, when I was a kid it was called tea. But I'm a similar vintage to yourself.

Looks like a lot of sugar content. Sugar does provide energy so they say but how much sugar is in the pack.
Pommie ration pack with no national curry meal 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
