      If they teach you all of this in 20 minutes, you and others will quit college and that's is terrible for business. I played Tenor Sax professionally for years. Early on I was always interested in knowing the chord structure of a song for improvisation. There are horn [layers who do solos who don't know what a chord is, let along what the chord structure of the tune is.
      I took a friend who played trumpet in school for two years. He could read a little music. He had no concept of what notes a chord consisted of. In our discussion I threw the Bb, C#, etc away. I made him play an octave C to C and counted 13 notes. Using the numeric system instead of the Bb, C# method. I taught him 10 years of chord structure in 8 hours at my home on a piano. The next day he says is this right. He starts singing and laying down the basic chords to "I left my Heart in San Francisco., He's no classical pianists, or jazz great, but he could figure out chords to many tunes. Then after knowing chords structure, he cold buy a book with more difficult tunes and play any chord chart there was in a fake book of jazz tunes. It all depends on how deep you really want to go. I just want to do some old worn down homestead in the woods with a porch, trees, lighting highlights, a sky, a pond with some rocks and a pirogue in a canal, a chimney and a bird or two on the ground. Haha. I can't draw a circle without a quarter or a nickel.

    Great video! I never went to school to learn to draw of paint. I just do my paintings on my own. I have many books on how to paint and draw. I have learnt a lot today. I would like to watch more of your videos. I am not that young, 69 years old and have been painting all my life. I cannot afford to go to school, it is very expensive. But painting is my passion. Thank you I will continue to practice and learn. Maybe I can continue watching your videos to learn more.

    Hi, I was wondering if you - or anyone - could tell me when to use the different perspectives? Not how, but when. I know how to use them I just don't know when you should use one point and when you should use two point and when you should use three point perspective. In which case scenario would you use each of them? Thanks!

    Do you only need to concern yourself with perspective if you are working with lots of sharp lines? How do you define perspective for objects with a soft, rounded edge?

    • @TheRuz123
      @TheRuz123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Circles become more of an ellipse in perspective. Draw a square and draw a circle within it with the circle touching the inner line of the square. The circle will touch the square in four points. Now if you know how to draw a square in perspective you can draw a circle. Draw the square in perspective and then mark the four points, from there it's all about making the arc to connect these dots. This sound over complicated. Maybe a video will quickly clear it up.

    Thank you for a fantastically clear layout of different types of perspective. Being a 3D artist I thought I knew all about the subject, I stand corrected! Drawing offers so much more possibilities than photo real CGI and, by the way, reminds us perspective has always been and still is somewhat subjective. Fascinating...
