Oh yes, I haven't heard too much from them, the ones I've haedr do vary a bit-some are catchier than others and more memorable, but yes, thanks, I did forget them. There's always one!
@wayneduckett1961 hearing things like that make me wish i was English, Detroit is our Manchester ! except Lush [ my top favorites] rarely came to Detroit,, idk why.
Just come off the Primitives ‘Crash’ and immediately remembered this equally catchy pop song from around back then, and they’re from the same part of south 🏴 as the great Feeder
I saw them in San Francisco on the Pop Said....tour and they were terrific. Andrea was as endearing as any performer I've seen. I remember her taking pictures of the audience because they were all so obviously thrilled to be there and playing overseas. It took me by surprise, because I thought the album was nowhere up to The Primitives debut, but The Primitives were as flat live when they came on tour as the Darling Buds were great. A nice memory.....
Got to see the buds on many occasions... Liverpool, Manchester and at the Buckley Tiv 😁, met Andrea and the band a few times. Great band, great music, great live 👍👍👍
Folks please share this song and the first Album by The Darling Buds,, deserve more regoniton, it's totally awesome, I've been searching for this band on You Tube for ages, finally found it, I didn't know name of band (sorry) as I heard this as a young child, i just remembered I loved it, I'm delighted I found this, total blast from the past and the first album is also a complete Blast!!! ❤️
I watched them at Kentish Town in London around the time that Transvision Vamp were big. I can't remember if they were good or not, but that's a sign of the times.
I remember the darling buds 1989 and saw them at Sheffield in 1991.this is what a proper band is great memories from 89 never ever forget the good times I had listening to this band wow.
Class times in Sheffield for me ..the mulberry the stonehouse and downstairs at the fountain bar listening to hit the ground..followed by new order. morrissey and abit of the style council ..best time of my life 89😁

Was down near Bristol for a fortnight and was looking for a live music venue and a chick in a canteen (fox) sent me to a club in Bristol to watch a local band. I must've gone to the wrong venue cos Andrea & the boys were on & played a storming gig. Excellent.
I am really sorry, I couldn't remember the name of song and the band, I remember hearing this when I was young and absolutely loved it, the album this song is off is great, this going right in my playlist, great song❤️
@a w It was a conversation where they were talking about learning to play their instruments in the very early days, and who their heroes were at that time. Then they went to see My Bloody Valenine and everything changed.
The Darling Buds, The Primitives, Transvision Vamp. What more do we need?

NameyMD blimey, saw the Hearthrobs supporting JAMC in Bradford in '87
One of the very best 3 minute pop songs ever.
the 90's started in the late 80's !!
Saw The Darling Buds at Canterbury Uni in 1988 with Lush supporting

Got to see the buds on many occasions... Liverpool, Manchester and at the Buckley Tiv 😁, met Andrea and the band a few times. Great band, great music, great live 👍👍👍
Darling Buds made their mark on Indie Pop late 1980's & early 1990's.
God, I was so in love with Andrea Lewis.
Incredible
One of the greatest bands ever
Nice to see a complete collection came out.
did it? can you share some details?
@@Doowopfanuk3 Look it up. It's called Killing For Love.
This is really catchy. I really like it.

Great pop song! I was young and carefree! Great times!
Still one of my favourite bands !!!! ;-)
Lead singer is a great performer and very endearing.
This song is pure joy!❤😊

I didn't mean to upset you
Well, I didn't mean to throw you out
I didn't mean to stand and shout
And now I'm sorry too
And I-I-I (I-I-I)
Never should've said those things
I never should've told you lies
And now I see it in your eyes
I'm so sorry too
But you know I just can't take it if you walk away
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
I just can't take it if you walk away from me, oh, oh, oh
I should try to make things right
I should try to understand
But everything got out of hand
I don't know what to do
And I know (I know)
I know that I'm the one to blame
I didn't mean to cause you pain
And things will never be the same
I'll leave it up to you
But you know I just can't take it if you walk away
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
I just can't take it if you walk away from me, oh, oh, oh
Since you've been gone
You know it's been so long
Why don't we figure out just where it all went wrong
Went wrong
But you know I just can't take it if you walk away
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
I just can't take it if you walk away from me, oh, oh, oh
I didn't mean to upset you
Well, I didn't mean to throw you out
I didn't mean to stand and shout
And now I'm sorry too
And I-I-I (I-I-I)
Never should've said those things
I never should've told you lies
And now I see it in your eyes
I'm so sorry too
But you know I just can't take it if you walk away
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
I just can't take it if you walk away from me, oh, oh, oh
I just can't take it if you walk away
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
My head's gonna burst, it doesn't matter what you say
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh
Wow- saw this band in Pittsburgh, forget the year. It was during crawldaddy year.
I remember this band from 1989 pop said what a truly amazing album and brilliant memories rock on suberb band a.mansell
fucking great band !!! love them , mum had the album on vinyl in the 80s !!! awesome tunes
I came across this over 10 years ago o Pandora and I am amazed that I missed it in the 1980s. I liked the Go-Go's but this is even better.
This does have a Go-Go's sound/feel to it with a Belinda Carlisle-like vocal. Good call.
Love the double time drum beat during the chorus.
So many great songs from this band and Simon is right they are the ultimate indie-pop band,
Was down near Bristol for a fortnight and was looking for a live music venue and a chick in a canteen (fox) sent me to a club in Bristol to watch a local band. I must've gone to the wrong venue cos Andrea & the boys were on & played a storming gig. Excellent.
They were good back then still good now play the occasional gig now and then
What more DO we need? Well maybe Alvvays from Canada.
Had the Crawdaddy album on tape.❤😊
Great great single.
I am really sorry, I couldn't remember the name of song and the band, I remember hearing this when I was young and absolutely loved it, the album this song is off is great, this going right in my playlist, great song❤️
WAY COOL BAND GROOVY MAN
Catchy pop song !!
Perfect
saw them live with the la s and sandie shaw
is this the best thing ever?!
Slowdive claim they sounded just like the Primitives and the Darling Buds, but without the reverb. Food for thought.
@a w It was a conversation where they were talking about learning to play their instruments in the very early days, and who their heroes were at that time.
Then they went to see My Bloody Valenine and everything changed.
@@timcarr6381 Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell have been playing their instruments since they were six years old.
Pop Said... A great CD. Their follow up, Crawdaddy, wasn't bad either!
fAB!
Sounds like they are trying to be The Primitives. The Darlingbuds was so much better.
Maybe spend more time songwriting next time. Not very good at all. Lacks melody. Need a better singer as well.
all their songs sound the same - they are almost as bad as Teenage Fanclub !
And we love it! ❤
DON'T SOUND THE SAME TO ME MABE A HEARING AID MIGHT DO THE TRICK 👂 🤪 🙃 😜 🤣 👂
