@minty_ Thesaurus04 Let's be real, no way as hell you're getting Kosovo back unless you wanna commit a genocide which would ruin your country, that's just a political shtick your politicians are probably trying to pull. There is a lot to appreciate looking back at this footage and a lot to strive for as a young adult, in the aspect of learning to communicate effectively and properly with others. I do find that to be something that is missing in my life, and my environment.
these teens if you remember had probably experienced the horrors of the second world war, by going to these exchange sponsored by the US is a very democratic thing to do. they had cured themselves of ambiguity in each other's culture. and sharpened them as future leaders of their countries.
I appreciate the lighthearted jokes but also genuine criticism and opinions these kids give about other countries about what they believe they lack or are different. In my opinion this represents great cultural exchange and criticizing that is important of the present and future. @@urashimak8422 what’s her last name?
Have watched how Philippines 🇵🇭 debate it was great and amazing. ✊
Mrs. Waller did such a great job of hosting and emceeing the students. She was friendly, respectful and welcoming!! 😍👏
youtube recommended me one video of their debates and im hooked.. im astonished to these youngins vocabularies like whaaaa.... I'm extremely in awe --- and influenced to be wise and outspoken like them
I love seeing them like this makes me hope that someday the future generations will have something like this again. Beautiful, smart, witty teens
They already are.
Look at them , they don't know how painful the future really is in a one room without mask
Was there a china representative or no? Kinda wanted to know what he/she think about their future on debates
@@ms.yawhaw8831 as I understand about this exchange student program , it is believe to have 33 representative around the world and China is probably not one of it since they are a communist country , and the program is made by a capitalist country.
they had spanish flu before which is more deadly
@@jericobongosia3992 i think that was in 1918 so they wouldn't be alive to see it, their parents might have though
@@aimanroosdi They had Yugoslavian student though.
We need this exchange student again to unite the world. Thank you you Tube for bringing this video.
5:46 I can relate to this I love how he expressed the things that he experienced in his country and got his self confidence when he moved to america. In my case the youth is not looked upon that much, we also have our own opinions on things but everyone else just doesnt care about it.
The Japanese girl (Yoriko Meguro) is still alive! She is a famous sociologist
What a wonderful sight! Some countries' name are already changed and became independent like Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Gold Coast (Ghana). Malaya which is now the unified Malaysia (Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak plus the current independent and progressive Singapore). Many had changed since then.
thank you for clarifying, I was wondering if they went by new names because I hadn’t heard of them
Thank you. Yugoslavia now is divided into multiple countries (i.e., Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovenia, Kosovo).
Then and Now
Yugoslavia- Slovenia,Croatia, Bosnia,Serbia,Montenegro,Kosovo&Macedonia
Gold Coast - Ghana
Ceylon - Sri Lanka
Malaya - Malaysia
Union So. Africa - South Africa
Viet Nam - Vietnam
Korea - North&South Korea
No, Korea at this point is SoKor. They don't recognize the existence of one another in paper, they're still on 'civil war' mode on paper and officially.
Thanks for the info.
@minty_ Thesaurus04 Let's be real, no way as hell you're getting Kosovo back unless you wanna commit a genocide which would ruin your country, that's just a political shtick your politicians are probably trying to pull. In the first place, Yugoslavia would've been a key country for Europe, pulling the strings like Germany and France, but since it's divided, it's too weak now, may be what the ones pulling the strings intended to do.
malaya - malaysia/singapore ? right
@@alif-hy4zb they're not part of malaysia yet during this time :3

Wow! What a treat to have watched this! Young, well-educated minds all gathered for an experience of a life time. If only a reunion were feasible! I'd love to watch that video!
Look at how everyone carries themselves.. they make so many new friends. I wish I could make friends as easily as others
ito ang masayang debate❤❣
I appreciate the lighthearted jokes but also genuine criticism and opinions these kids give about other countries about what they believe they lack or are different. In my opinion this represents great cultural exchange and criticizing that is important of the present and future. They all so attentive of other’s ideas and show respect which is very uncommon today in my own experiences. In addition the teacher is very engaged and focused on what they are saying and reflects the group’s joyful mood. I LOVE THIS!
Wonderful, uplifting, bittersweet, heartbreaking.
So many conflicting, interacting, swirling emotions.
Those days are gone😔
So sad, children this days are too much attached and occupied already of social media😥
Because their parents was the children of the good old days
Not just the children, even the parents are.
Can't believe most of them are not here anymore 😔 sad reality

@@DonkeyKong_1223 yeah man. take care
@@sschorm Don't worry, I'm guessing some are alive. They would be in their early 80's however..
I love how though many of them disagree with each other at times they don’t get angry and attack each other. They just listen to each other.
This was the most pure an genuine video I’ve seen in a minute, one love
Well, I fell in love with how the UK representative speak I just love how soft spoken her accent is lol. And she's so beautiful too
How I wish nations can be at peace with everyone as shown in this video...
the fact that the sleeping dragon has awaken china, there will never be peace, because they don't respect International law and they keep on grabbing territories which are NOT THEIRS.

Each of them charming and well-versed than the next.
WE NEED MORE RAUL CONTRERAS IN OUR PHILIPPINE SOCIETY AND LESS MILLENNIAL TIKTOKERS!
Instead of saying we need more Raul Contreras, be one like him.
well, it's just a phase of their chidhood and they'll definitely feel a fair amount of cringe with themselves when they got older and see their videos when they're younger lol
Except for the part that he was yellow. Other than that, he was brilliant.
@@Sosoph098 yellow? U mean politically? Cause i heard he did not like his political experience under the yellow party.
Imagine watching this kind of program today, I would definitely love it
15:52 is spot on. How we guide our children as they grow up will result in the kind of people they will be.
I am not really into talks abt politics, social issues and debate, but i did watched the rest of their videos and enjoyed how they got along pretty well with nice flow of their ideas while debating. We really need this program today.
this japanese girl just said “she learned jehovah what a charming person she is.” i like her i wonder if she’s still here in this world and still doing great. and all the youth who were participating through all the years has passed by.
yup, i read a comment from her apparent grandchild while was scrolling and said she graduated from a university and joined politics after this and sadly passed away 5 years ago. must be great to have her as ur grandma.

Can we agree to bring back this program again? (2021)

I wish some international television organize this kind of content again.
This forum is just beyond lovely. We see the world in a room.
The UK girl is so eloquent! I’d listen to her all day.
Of course she was a native english speaker, she did not have a problem expressing herself in english unlike other exchange students who came from non-native english speaking countries....
@@ไอ้พวกอิสลาม so what? That doesn’t take away her eloquence. Many of those other countries were English speaking as well.

Lovely, i wish we again have the kind of program.
Everything would be fake in this generation.
I liike the Ethopian boy that said tough luck, his parents will have to adjust to him hahahahha , Brilliant ! Lets not forget this great host, teacher who asked great questions !
I watched every part of it, and the most polite and the one with the best statue was Turkey...and respectful
Love to see every being in their own country at the same place at time having fun together. ❤️
PROUD TO BE FILIPINO here.for Sir Raul Contreras representing the PHILIPPINES! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I have been enjoying watching all these archive videos! Student delegates back then are far more interesting and are brilliant. If all leaders of the world sat in a room without too much prejudice and political biases and conflicts, I could say, the world will be a better place. Thanks for sharing these videos! It made my day!
I find this program was so interesting and enlightening. Why don't television networks put together programs like this nowadays? It was so nice seeing and hearing everyone smiling and laughing and hear their opinions and impressions on various topics.
