Cool. Thanks for the vid. I have '21 Svartpilen, which I have enjoyed removing a bunch of crap from.
I did not think about the skid plate. I will have to take a look at that especially as I want to route the exhaust around the engine instead of underneath, like the prior to 2020 models did it.
I disagree about the muffler, Unlike many Japanese bikes, it is small and aluminum and about half the weight.
I am thinking of removing that resonator thingy instead which hopefully (I do not know) would not affect noise level so much a muffler delete would. I think I saw else where it is worth about 5 lbs, but of course you have to have a pipe insert to replace it.
If the battery goes, it will definitely be replaced with a lithium alternative, good for another -5lbs or more.

Thanks for the input. I’m not sure what you disagree about regarding the muffler? Removing that black resonator adds way more sound than removing the muffler. I actually have a resonator delete and had to take it off because of the volume increase. I’m sure some can deal with the noise but I personally couldn’t. If you delete the muffler then you lose the weight from the muffler itself and the foot peg. The muffler mount and footpeg is all one piece. You can also buy a footpeg delete from Husqvarna that gives you a muffler mount ONLY… no peg but I don’t think that’d cut that much weight.

@@ridewithKY Thanks . You have saved me going the resonator delete route. I do not like loud.

Good info. In my experience; catless with a slip on and no chamber was way too loud. Makes sense leaving the stock muffler would quiet the exhaust down a lot if one were to choose to remove the chamber to save weight. Thanks again for the info.

I love that handle on the seat-back, great for moving the bike around. Also, I kinda think chain-guards have a purpose?

Everything on the bike has a purpose. It’s just a matter of weighing whether that purpose is sufficient to retain the particular piece. You’ll see a lot of bikes with no chain guard. In my case I chose to keep mine.

Glad to help. Once more parts start showing up, I’ll continue weighing. Thanks!

great video, thinking about doing some of these. Did you feel a difference while riding it ?

Thank you for the positive feedback and thank you for watching! It does make a difference for sure. These bikes are light already but it’s really easy to take weight off of them. It’s not like these bikes will ever be fast, but taking the weight off just makes it more nimble, easier to move around, just overall easier to ride. Absolutely worth it in my opinion.

There is no reason to remove the rear grabrail. It helps you move the bike around especially off-road if it gets stuck.

There is a reason to remove the grab handle… that reason just may not justify its removal for your use and intended purpose.

Could you ship me the rear grab handle?
