Oh…😢. When the creature started talking to his bride, calling her beautiful and perfect even though she was covered in stitches and scars, telling her about the life he wanted to have with her, my heart broke for him. He probably would have been a wonderful husband.

This was a faithful portrayal of Shelley's novel. That gothic work is a depiction of our monsters not as external threats, but as our personalities and psychology that return to us over time. The compassionate loner is a human type.

This is by far the past adaptation of Frankenstein I've watched. I fell in love with the story when doing a dissertation on the Gothic genre and I am so glad this movie does it justice. Such a heartbreaking tragedy. I don't know how people can brand it as a story about a silly monster and nothing more - it is truly a masterpiece

I remember seeing this film in High School after our end of the year tests. I was put in what was an English class for my testing, and after everyone was finished, our teacher put this on for the rest of the day, the first part one day then the second part the following day.

And I still find new emotions waiting for me with each return. Now this movie will become another tradition for me.

@@abcxyz8787 The film followed the basic storyline. A few changes in the details, probably to simplify the timing and adjust lengthy details. But all in all, both are closer than films in the past.
The book is worth the read. An unedited audiobook would make it easier for people who don't like to read books. I'd suggest anyone who doesn't like to read personally, would serve themselves notable improvements on many levels, to add the love of reading to their skills.
This book is one that was written by a brilliant writer. A series of journal entries and letters leads the reader through the story.
The story starts and ends on a frozen waterway, with interaction between Dr. Frankenstein, the captain and crew of an ice locked ship, is part of the original novel. Very scary part. It becomes part of the captain's log.
Dracula, by Bram Stoker, is similarly written in journal entries and letters. It was a popular writing technique of that era, giving the storyline a mystery discovery tilt. This is more entertaining and interacting with readers, rather than the flat out single voice storyline, just written out. Reading old books gives you a view of life of that era.

I can totally relate to the monster... Never being accepted an outcast... Given up for adoption then adopted by people who after having their own child and wishing they never adopted me and only being nice to me in front of others and doing everything they could to make my life difficult... I'm very strong and independent and can overcome any challenge endure the harshest conditions... My knowledge and skills are practically limitless... I know how it feels to love and know how it feels to never get that love in return... If I'm kind it's seen as a weakness an invitation to harm me... I've developed a way to passively get people to fear me and be unapproachable... I don't consider myself human rather the next evolutionary step ahead of it's time because of my isolation... A life of no excuses and pure honesty never having regrets or do anything to apologize for... No fear from anything and because of the internet I can avoid contact at the point of sale pay my bills on line... COVID was a dream come true...

Being the better for it and they get to carry on without ever knowing who I was then or now... Doing something to these people who don't deserve my time would only put them in control and somehow justify there cruelty because nobody cares about what they do or did only what the reaction of the outcast would be and I'm not going to continue that cycle... I left so I can have a life and that life is more valuable than the satisfaction of whatever breaking news story would be... In the end I get the credit for rising up not sinking to there level...

I can't say enough good about this adaptation, it's so faithful & justifies its adaptation as it does its own thing, properly omits certain details that don't make or break the story inherently but that simply couldn't be done in the medium of television as the original was designed to be told in the book format while also visually making it clear what's going on rather than just retelling it in a format it wasn't designed to be told in. The performances by all of the actors involved were terrific, the people who wrote the screenplay actually understood that the monster isn't violent because he has the brain of a criminal & that Dr Frankenstein is not a hysterical creep. Those original Universal films are a complete disgrace & should be erased from history that's how much contempt I have for those garbage films.

    M. Shelley created a social critical Masterpiece with her Novel Frankenstein, not Frankenstein created a Monster, Society did and Secondary he as well! And it still fits our Society today, superficial, all about the looks! And I grab myself on my own nose, as a women I always try to look as good as possible but I am a ICU Nurse and
after many years working there I started over and work with Disabled people, and I learned a lot again! These people showed me to be thankful with little things, like they are, all of them are beautiful souls but very much judged by our

Fabulous film art ... in every aspect. It might be just a novel about two monsters, the creator himself and his creature he brought to life. Related to our modernity and modern medicine, with re-animations, artificial koma and fertilization or surrogate mother, organ transplantation to freezing, gene manipulation and chip implantation into the brain ... this story gives us to think about the conflicts we might have to deal with by overstepping some critical boundaries given by nature itself. Tks for uploading part 1 and 2.

    8. Victor Frankenstein’s emotional farewell to Professor Waldman

There’s a moral lesson in Frankenstein, you can’t play God by creating man or it would turn out to be a monster. Victor Frankenstein was blindly obsessed with the idea to cheat death by creating life but he made an insane mistake when he created a monster, not a human being. However the monster wanted to be loved by humans but he was ugly and that made him a murderer who killed Victor’s family. I adore Mary Shelley’s book and I know it became part of the Halloween tradition because it’s scary. IT’S ALIVE!!!!!
