Imagine, you are driving down the road when you suddenly notice the check engine light on your dash. What do you do? Ignore it, it will go away? Panic, and pull the car over and call a tow truck? No, to either of those responses, but rather we find out what the light indicates and get it fixed. The check engine light comes to warn us that something is wrong and needs our attention before it turns into a bigger problem. Now imagine a prophecy that took place almost 3000 years ago acting as our check engine light today. The call for revival spoken by God through Haggai is not just relevant today but necessary. God desires the church to come back to life so that He can exact His plan in the earth. Now, having the benefit of learning from the missteps of Old Testament Israel’s neglect of the check engine light should give us insight as well as an advantage when hearing and following God’s words today. This Sunday, Jay will revive an Old Testament prophecy given to us by Haggai in the sermon “The Check Engine Light Is On”.
