  • Candice Night & Ritchie Blackmore talk about their musical influences, creative process & more in the final part of this three-part interview series. "Nature's Light" is available here: blackmoresnight.lnk.to/Nature...
On March 12th, 2021, Blackmore’s Night have released “Nature’s Light”, their eleventh studio album and the first in six years. The ten new tracks make for a remarkable new record - one that could only have been written by Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore. Once again, the duo is successfully mixing the tradition of Folk music and the love for the Renaissance era with their style, inspired by the myths and legends of ancient times.
“The story of “Nature’s Light” is the story of nature being the true queen and the simplicity and magic of everyday miracles that happen right before your eyes”, says Candice Night. “If you feel stagnant or repressed in your surroundings, it is important to take a break from the mundane and go where your heart leads you. It allows you to recharge and begin again with fresh and renewed energy. For some it is the ocean, for some the woods, for some feeling the sun on your face. Our music is an escape from the stress and pressure of modern times. Journey back through time with us, to a simpler, magical time where music enters your heart and soul.”
Transcend time with Blackmore's Night to a world with no stress, just the beauty of nature, and fairy tales, sunsets and moonlit skies. Welcome to the Blackmore's Night family. Immerse yourself in their ethereal music.
While the album is rooted in a traditional approach, fans of Ritchie Blackmore’s unique style will once again not be disappointed. Heartfelt ballads such as a brand-new version of ‘Wish You Were Here’ set the scene for magical tales on ‘Four Winds’ and ‘The Twisted Oak’. For the two instrumental tracks - ‘Darker Shade Of Black’ and ‘Der letzte Musketier’ - Ritchie shows that his brilliance on the guitar is still magic as it always was.
On March 12th,2021, the band’s new studio album “Nature’s Light” was released on multiple formats via earMUSIC. Among these is a Strictly Limited 2CD Hardcover Mediabook Edition including a bonus CD featuring a carefully selected set of Blackmore’s Night’s masterpieces from their extensive back catalogue. Furthermore, the album will become available as a CD Digipak Edition, a Strictly Limited Heavyweight 1LP Gatefold Edition on Yellow Vinyl, a 180g 1LP Gatefold Edition on Black Vinyl as well as Digital.

I think listening to Ritchie talk is as entertaining as listening to him play an instrument! Candice, I hope we get to meet someday!

Observing them not just as a couple but also musical partners explains why the music they make and picking the other right musicians for the job is what makes their music great

One of the best interviews made with BN. Good relevant questions and interesting answers.
It's so nice to hear experienced musicians talk about music, so humble and pure. Music is simply just communication with emotion and the wish to aim that to other people. It might not be easy for everyone as the meaning of music has changed to be about hits and competition and prestige. Which is not the soul of music imo.
Whatever you get your inspiration from it's still basically ones wish to communicate to other that should be the foundation of music.
I think Ritchie and Candice are a perfect example of two maybe quite different people but where just that thing is the reason to why they can work without pressure. They complement each other and welcome that instead of trying to change each other.
    Just a feeling i get.
Been a fan since i've heard DP In Rock. That lead me in to play music myself. Take care both of you ❤🌜👑

If either of you see this, your works have spoken a great deal to me, the first of significance being "storm," having the uncanny ability to calm turbulent times.

I think it's pretty cool that Ritchie just gets to do and play to the audiences what he wants now, after all he's been the rock God, the pop star etc for decades. I'm glad I got to see him on that last Rainbow tour in around 2017 though as that and Purple were the music of my youth:)

Instrumentation, song selection, playing styles - they’re all based in a long and storied bluegrass tradition. This new interpretation of bluegrass incorporated new sounds and new instruments.
New instrumentation, lyrics, and arrangements. Reinterpret them with new arrangements, new lyrics, and new instrumentation. And new musical parts. Adding new lyrics, new arrangements, and new instrumentation.
As a Medieval and Renaissance purist, I find this to be rubbish.

Candice please do us all a favour and stop trying to pretend you are a musician.
Ritchie will be remembered in 50 years time as one of the greates Guitarists of all time - you will be known as Mrs Blackmore.

According to her husband, she is quite the musician. I'd say she has a natural talent based on his contention that she easily played, picked up instruments she had never seen before.

If he’s truly your musical hero then you’d be able to realize the thing he’s doing now is the thing he’s passionate about. Would you want someone to begrudgingly continue something they don’t enjoy? Musicians need to do what their heart tells them to do and if you’re truly a fan then you’d either support it or find something else to listen to and not so rudely comment about their art and passion.
