To immerse ourselves deeper into the mystical world of Kabir, we bring you "ALAKH", a series of some all time favorite melodies of Kabir, set amidst mesmerizing locations.
"Time is slipping away my friend, mediate and take the path of Rama's name (राम रे नाम रो गेलो रे पकड़ो)"
This is the major focus of the beautiful Kabir bhajan "बेर चला मेरे भाई", that will abound in every corner of your heart. Sung beautifully in the iconic voice of Mahesha Ram ji of Chhatangarh village in Jaisalmer, and shot in the shimmering waters of Gadisar Lake, this Kabir bhajan will leave you hopelessly baffled by the 'उलटबांसी' (upside down verse) of Kabir. All things seem possible in this upside-down world of Kabir!
"I am born first and the mother is born last; an ant carries an elephant for her dowry; the baby in the womb speaks but not the child that is born." What does it all mean?
Perhaps it is we, not Kabir, who are looking at the world upside-down, the wrong way round.

The ant goes to her husband’s home
Nine bags of kohl, her dowry
In one hand, she carries an elephant
Under the other arm, a camel

The unborn child could speak
The newborn child says nothing
Says Kabir, listen seekers
Fools can go on guessing

Rajasthan Kabir Yatra is a 7 days-long annual travelling folk music festival spread across six rural and urban locations in and around Rajasthan. Organised by Lokayan, Bikaner and partnered with Rajasthan Police, this is a folk festival providing a space where folk musicians, artists, scholars, students and seekers can immerse themselves in the voices of Bhakti and Sufi saint-poets such as Kabir, Mira, Bulleh Shah, and many more, questioning and dissolving boundaries of caste, class, religion and identity.
The five editions, in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 were widely chronicled and appreciated. It brought together 50 artists, over 400 Yatris every year from other parts of India, and thousands of local audiences.
